Geralt usually doesn't choose to camp in the wild, it's too conspicuous. And the witcher's special senses allow them to enter a kind of meditation, so as to pass the time quickly, while maintaining their sensitivity to the surrounding environment. So it didn't matter whether he set up camp or not, he knelt down on the ground and sat down as soon as he closed his eyes, the night would have passed.

But now there is a mage after all. So they didn't go long, and just after noon, Geralt planned to find a clearing in the woods to set up camp. But He Shenyan disagreed with this. He looked strangely at Geralt, who turned over and dismounted from the horse and took the quilt off the horse, and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Set up camp."

"you are tired?"

Geralt's hand stopped, and he said, "No."

"Then why don't we move on?"

So they hit the road again, and on the way, Geralt asked, "I thought all of you mages would be... easily tired."

"Sometimes, Geralt. By the way, where are you going?"

"Novigry. Let's go there for the winter. By the way, let's see if there is any commission in the city that I can take. I declare in advance that most of the commissions in that city are in the sewers."

Facing the vague reminder in the witcher's words, He Shenyan did not respond. He just turned his head to look at a round mirror that suddenly appeared on the branches of trees in the forest, and raised his eyebrows.

"What's wrong?"

"It's nothing... just keep going."

They walked along the woodland by the sea, not on the road, but between the paths. During this period, Geralt dealt with a lot of water ghosts. These monsters with cyan skin have sharp teeth and claws, and their bodies stink to death. But for Geralt, it was just a matter of swinging the sword a few times. If these things hadn't been in the way, he wouldn't even be willing to draw out his silver sword to deal with them. Repairs are expensive. Even if he had a gold bar, he didn't want to waste it. Killing ten water ghosts is not necessarily enough to repair a sword once.

He Shenyan rode the sturdy black horse the whole time, and Geralt looked at the horse with admiration more than once. Such a good horse is likely to be sold for more than 500 crowns in Novigrad, while a griffin is only worth 200 crowns... This is not counting the money for sword oil and potions.

Two days later, they arrived at the gate of Novigrad in the early morning without camping the whole way. This port city, known as the Pearl of the North, is majestic and magnificent, and is firmly guarded by the continuous city walls. For many country folks, it may take half an hour to fully accept that there is such a city in the world when they come here for the first time.

Not only that, the buildings here all have beautiful red brick roofs, and the streets are not as muddy as in the towns. There are bright brick pavements and hawkers everywhere. There are five gates alone, and there are 12 brothels and 35 hotels in the city.

Geralt asked in the crowd of people entering the city.

"How is it? This is the Pearl of the North. Have you been here before?"

The black-robed mage just hung a noncommittal smile. He neither belittled nor praised, and said in a rational tone: "No, Geralt."

"But it's really grand and developed here. I can tell just from the length of the queue. Presumably the gold coins this city earns every day are astronomical."

The witcher nodded, and he said, "There is a country dialect that a street vendor in Novigrad earns a hundred crowns a day."

When he said this, he shrugged: "But if that's the case, everyone doesn't have to do anything else. I can sell the sword to sell vegetables right away."

The Master said solemnly: "If this is the case, then please come to me when you arrive. I can create a clean water source to keep your vegetables hydrated."

As they talked, the line shortened a little, and soon reached the city gate. Two guards stood in front of the door one by one, armed with halberds and in shining armor. One of them saw Geralt, lifted his visor, and greeted, "It's you, witcher, remember me?"

Geralt nodded: "Of course, Clarkson. I hope your wife is all well."

The guard grinned: "She is much better now! If you hadn't helped me find those medicines, I really don't know what to do. Come in! Is this your companion?"

He Shenyan also nodded, and he gave a polite smile. The two rode into town on horseback, and Geralt swung the reins close to him, and said softly, "You'd better keep an eye on your things. The thieves here are world-renowned."

The second he said these words, an elf in a light yellow dress in front of her was snatched from her hand. She spewed a series of different swear words from her mouth and chased after her. The guy didn't get far before he was pinned to the ground by two guards who happened to be patrolling here. After the elf got his things back, he kicked both feet in disgust, hitting the red heart. The guard quickly stopped her and said, "Ma'am! Calm down! He will be judged by us according to the law."

After the elf walked away, the two guards picked up the moaning man lying on the ground and took him away.

Seeing this, He Shenyan said, "I don't think this is a thief."

"Of course, this is robbery."

"So, how many days will he be sentenced to in prison?"

While scanning the bulletin board on the street, Geralt replied: "According to the words of those in power~www.novelmt.com~ Novigrad is a 'free' city, and anyone has the right to live here. Live, of course, the gang members. The guy you just saw should be one of them. So I guess he won't be imprisoned at all, and his mates will probably bail him out soon."

"It does sound very free."

They rode their horses and walked all the way to a spacious square, where people came and went, there was a scale statue in the center, and below it was a pool full of coins. Geralt led him to the edge of the square, where a dwarf was waiting, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, and a row of stables beside him. Seeing the business come to the door, the dwarf's face quickly filled with a smile, and he greeted warmly in a loud voice: "Hello! Guest! Do you want to store the horses?"

Geralt nodded, and he threw ten crowns from his arms. The dwarf reached out and caught it with precision, still smiling: "Okay, two horses, ten crowns, two days, no problem, guest?"

The two got off the horse, and the dwarf whistled, and two dwarves in commoner clothes ran out of the stable and led their horses to the back. The dwarf who took the money handed Geralt two round iron coins, both with the words Murray's Stable on the front, and the numbers, 10 and 9, on the back. The dwarf said: "Then, ask the two of you to come and pick up the horse in two days, or continue to pay the money to keep it. If the two of you don't come after two days, we will keep it for another day."

After saying goodbye to the dwarf, Geralt tidied up his tattered leather jacket and said, "So, are you going to take a nice hot bath with me, or go shopping by yourself?"

Of course, He Shenyan knew what the witcher's mouth meant for a bath. He nodded, "Let's meet here at seven o'clock in the evening."
