Seiun wo Kakeru

Seven Stories Mining Part II

When Age returned from the village of Siena to the mining site, the sky was being covered in the sunset.

Under the bright red dyed sky, the black forest stretches and only the mining site in front of it exposes the loess soil.

I guess the Pietros worked pretty hard.

The storage area of the mining site was quite loaded with iron ore all over the soil.

And the Pietros sat in a circle with exhausted faces.

They were taking a break.

When I noticed Age was back, Pietro stood up best.

He greets me with an uncontrolled smile. The other disciples stood up in unison.

Oh, you've welcomed many apprentices.

I finally got the feeling that I would hold people.

Standing in front of his disciple, Age unloads the luggage he was carrying.

It was a different crane mouth from the one used earlier by Pietro.

Welcome home, parent.

"I'm home. Looks like you've been working a lot."

"They've all moved so much since the first day. Dante was a butterfly in the second half."

"Bullshit! You didn't see what I did. I would have dug the most of these."

The fingered Dante returns to his temperament, but his expression does not have the ever bustling power.

I guess I worked really well enough to bat.

I kept digging with thick arms that were as good as women's hips.

Agee thought it wouldn't be a lie that he dug the most.

Catalina was just as tired.

The look on his face, which seemed pleasant, is now exhausted and disillusioned.

Age doesn't do manual labor, even though he walked around.

I'm good enough by comparison. I feel a little bad about putting people to work and being healthy.

"Well, looks like you've all worked hard. Are you tired?

"I'm already worn out. Tomorrow I'm going to have a muscle ache."

"Well, I'm fine. It's tomorrow. I can move more than today."

"I always do. I'm tired, but I have plenty of room."

"Yeah. Good news, then. Let's get back to work again."

Everyone marveled at Age's remarks, including Pietro.

With a surprising look on his face, it was as if time had stopped.

And a slightly uncomfortable look appears on Catalina's face.

You thought you could rest if you were in Dante, he's showing his anger all over his face and pissing off his shoulders.

It just didn't explode, that's what I grew up with this past day.

To solve the misunderstanding that you probably would have thought of, Age raises her hands and stops the voice of pursuit from rising.

"Even so, I'm not going to take long. I just want to reward your work and tell you the most important thing I said this morning."

Age held the crane mouth in her hand.

Black and glowing cranes are made of iron, not bronze.

It was something Age borrowed back to the village from the faces where she was farming.

They come in a variety of sizes and shapes.

Each of the disciples, except Pietro, takes the crane mouth indicated by Age in such a way as to be intrigued.

He observes crane mouths from different sides, tapping them lightly or trying to flaunt them.

At first I observed a variety of crane mouths as they were exchanged within my companions, but after a while, I took out each crane mouth that was in nature and my physique in my hand.

When Catalina takes the L-shaped crane mouth, she asks Agie.

"What's this?

"Do you understand, Mr. Catalina?"

"Probably, is this the iron you were saying?

"That's right. You've used enough of each of you with your own crane mouth all day. It's made of bronze. Wave a steel crane mouth with your hands tired and out of reach. And feel the difference"

"... keh. You can say that from the beginning. confusing."

Dante poisons it, but that look is that of the child who was given the toy.

Niyali, when he laughs, turns his shoulders glued and returns to the mining point most of all.

It was a light step, like a cane and leg dancing off.

Katarina and the three men follow, just because they can't wait to be crossed first.

Only Pietro, who already knows the iron crane mouth, stopped right next to Age.

"My master is a bad man, too."

"What?

"'Cause if that bothered you, that crane mouth, you could've lent it to me from the beginning, right? Then you could have worked more efficiently by now, wouldn't you?

"I know that's true, but some things don't come through that way."

"I'll do that. I'd be happier if I let you touch a good tool from the start."

"I got a good tool from the start, something I can't use unless I realize its value. That's Pietro with you."

"Ugh. Snake."

"What's a snake? When this is over, stay later."

Give me a break.

Damn, when I look at Pietro in the face, I think he's just a kid.

But still, he seemed to keep us all together well as brothers and sisters, and he worked very hard.

I was so impressed that just not being able to lick it worked enough.

"Well, let's go see how it reacts quickly"

"Right. Aren't they surprised?"

"I guess so."

The sight was spreading as expected.

People seem to temporarily forget tiredness when faced with joy.

Both Dante and Catalina were astonishingly energetic and agile waving their cranes.

The expression has a grin more than surprise.

"Dude, that was just hard, isn't it crisp? What the hell!

"This one's light, and I'm tired and I think I can dig as much of this as I want!

"Awesome."

"Oh, wow. Is this iron..."

"I'm glad I didn't come against Master Franco. Is the person making this our parent? I'm glad he's a good man."

Though each of them had different thoughts, they were equally surprised by the ease of use.

That would be the case, too.

Unlike casting, iron, which is forged, can vary in hardness depending on the site.

For this reason, the tip is stiff and powerful, and subtle adjustments such as making the core softer and escaping impact are made.

As Dante was passionate about digging dirt, Age decided to ask Catalina what she thought.

"What do you say?

"This is very hard ahead of you."

"Yes, I am."

"It's very powerful and splendid. It keeps going inside."

"Have you noticed anything else?

"Uh, why are you just a little like Ella in front of the book from the beginning?

"We can only replace that first. It's called doughing. Put steel on the skin so that it can be worn. Where I was, there aren't many people doing it."

Modern Japanese cranes are made of all steel.

Steel can now be made so inexpensively, but it is not friendly to the user's body.

The laborious work of wearing steel on the subway would not be done without being an old smelly blacksmith because it would not fit the bill.

"Besides, has only my crane mouth changed shape?

"The others are T-shaped, this is L-shaped. The L-shape has a higher center of gravity. I can work with light force."

"Why are you splitting it?

"Easy to handle even for women because it's light and powerful for it. On the other hand, you can't use both, so you're going to lose them fast, right? Long and short."

"Ha, you got a lot going on."

"The tools also change shape to match the target. It's important."

"I've learned"

"Yes, if you use a few other shapes, you can finish them now."

Catalina exchanges for a T-shaped crane mouth and digs back the soil again.

All I can ask you is evidence that you are so good at observing the eye that you can question it.

This girl will probably be a good blacksmith if she keeps going like this.

"Dante, what do you say?

"Uhaha. We can still do this for hours."

"Really? Then can you please wait till tomorrow morning?

"Don't be ridiculous. How much are you going to use me for?

"It's a joke. So, what do you think?

"Oh. Sure, this guy is awesome. Now you can build a weapon or something. Oh, I guess you can do something awesome."

"Dante......"

A weapon.

Going to that point of view the most is, to be honest, hard.

The crane mouth was used most because I wanted him to have an attachment to the tools that enriched his life, as well as to build the muscles needed for his blacksmith.

Weapons, by their very nature, are located in the opposite direction.

But the idea itself is not wrong.

Blacksmiths' technological advances are undoubtedly closely related to weapons.

If you look at Japanese history, you might say that it was a blacksmith's culmination.

The ancestors of such an age are also former blacksmiths.

Still, Age didn't want to cheaply make weapons that would take people's lives, and he didn't want his disciples to make them.

One day, I hope Dante has the same will, too. I stopped to think so now.

Dante had an in-depth thought, too, and he didn't make a statement.

When Age shut up, he started waving his crane mouth in another squeaky move.

After each replaced a single crane mouth and felt the difference, the work was finished.

Drop the mud from the finished crane mouth and set it up to prevent rust rust rust.

Looking at the disciples who had finished cleaning up, Age spoke seriously so that her thoughts could be conveyed at all.

"Thank you for your hard work today. I think it was tough with unfamiliar work. You would have felt all kinds of inconvenience. In the end, tool making is divided into two parts:“ Ideas "that want to make new things that can be efficient.“ Ideas "that want to make improvements. Don't forget today's inconvenience, though I don't know what kind of craftsman you guys will be. The user always feels this inconvenience. In the future, this experience will surely be a treasure. I want you to remember that."

Pietro and Catalina seemed deeply into Age's closing words.

Catalina moisturizes her eyes as she was thrilled.

Dante must have had some thoughts, too.

He held his crane mouth in silence and stared at the end of it.

Making tools means making someone more convenient and happier than they are now.

To do this, I wouldn't know unless I tried hard on my own first.

I dared to do the demanding manual labor of mining with bronze tools in order to make me feel the hardship.

You will see if Age's thoughts were conveyed in the future when these disciples became independent.

At least I'm pretty sure I figured out the convenience of iron.

That alone seemed like a huge success for this event.
