Sensing how reluctant Ye Yang was when talking about it, Huang Ruobing decided not to press the topic. Suddenly, the atmosphere became awkward and tense. Still, these two didn’t seem to notice it on a conscious level.

“Right, has Ye Wenxuan paid up?” Ye Yang suddenly recalled that there was still Ye Wenxuan who had yet to get involved.

Upon hearing this, Huang Ruobing scoffed. “How could he possibly pay up?”

While it seemed unthinkable, Huang Ruobing knew that He Dong’s true ally was only Ye Wenxuan. Although his son was a major disappointment, Ye Wenxuan himself was quite a reliable ally of He Dong’s.

Be it Huang Ruobing or Ye Yang, they could easily accept this outcome because they didn’t actually think much of that promissory note. Ye Wenxuan would never cough up that much money just because of a stupid piece of paper.

Ye Yang exchanged a few more words with Huang Ruobing before hanging up. After a brief moment of contemplation, he called Ye Wenxuan’s number.

“Hello, who is this?”

“President Ye, great wits do have short memories. I take it you have seen the promissory note your son wrote for us, haven’t you?”

At the mention of this, Ye Wenxuan felt his head start throbbing in pain. His son, Ye Xiaoyu being a playful lad was a fact that he was well aware of. However, Ye Wenxuan was partly to be blamed for this, for spoiling his kid rotten. Else, Ye Xiaoyu would never have grown so bold. He was aware of how terrible his son had become.

Whenever he came across issues regarding his mischievous son, Ye Wenxuan would try to overlook them. From his point of view, Ye Xiaoyu was merely at the age when it was natural for him to play around, and whatever he did wasn’t all too serious.

However, never in a million years could he imagine that Ye Xiaoyu would have the nerve to lose more than a hundred million in one bet.

After hearing those words, Ye Wenxuan knew exactly who was calling him. “Ah, Ye Yang, was it? I don’t think you’re calling to discuss this tiny issue, are you?”

Although Ye Wenxuan could afford to pay the sum, it would take some time for him to recover the losses so he was quite reluctant to pay up.

“Why don’t we head to Phoenix Villa tonight for a detailed discussion over dinner? My treat. After all, there are quite a few things I don’t understand when it comes to purchasing real estate, so I’m you could give me some guidance.”

Ye Wenxuan was about to bust a nerve when he heard Ye Yang say this.

Phoenix Villa was the name of a restaurant. It was also one of the top restaurants in Riverside City. Due to its exorbitant prices and decor, the patrons were mostly adults and older members of society. Young people weren’t typically fond of this place.

Phoenix Villa just happened to be one of Ye Wenxuan’s businesses. Out of courtesy, Ye Wenxuan couldn’t possibly say no when someone had already invited him to dinner at a restaurant he himself owned that was located on his turf.

Ye Yang hung up with a relaxed smile on his face. It seemed like victory was already in his grasp.

That evening, Ye Yang and Huang Ruobing showed up at Phoenix Villa as promised.

From the name of the restaurant, one could tell that it was going to be a purist sort of establishment. Many of the pavilions were designed with traditional architecture and methods, and this was one of the reasons why many of its patrons were proud to be able to dine in such a grand place.

“This place sure lives up to its name, the ‘Phoenix Villa’. To have so many wood-based structures, they must have lots of fire-prevention systems in place.” The wood-based structure did indeed give off a more vintage vibe but at the cost of fire-proofing the place.

‘There are so many ponds here that there’s nothing to worry about, even if a fire broke out here,” Huang Ruobing said to Ye Yang.

Ye Yang narrowed his eyes to study the premise, evidently still skeptical about the facade of the restaurant.

Phoenix Villa had been quite famous for some time now. As many tourists would visit the place, it was not restricted to members only. Granted, the price of the food here was more than enough to weed out those who merely come here to snap photos for showing off on their social media account.

Phoenix Villa was so spacious that it seemed like there were only a handful of patrons dining here for the night.

Unlike some famous restaurants that chose to be situated in the heart of the bustling city, Phoenix Villa was near the outskirts where the scenery it overlooked was far better than what the city could offer. Paired with its exquisite decor and structures, it was well suited to be a getaway location from the hustle and bustle of the city.

There were many entertainment infrastructures built within Phoenix Villa. As the place was surrounded by nature, it was quite cooling in summer, making it a perfect location to avoid the sweltering summer heat.

The scenery here at Phoenix Villa was remarkable and the staff was equally well-trained. Upon hearing Ye Yang’s comment, the staff responded with a warm smile and said, “You seem to be fond of this place. Would you like me to show you around after enjoying your meal? Many people do compliment us for having such a wonderful view here.”

Ye Yang wasn’t joking when he said that he wanted to treat Ye Wenxuan to dinner. He had reserved a private room in Phoenix Villa. After some light conversation with the service staff, they were led to their table.

It wasn’t Huang Ruobing’s first time at Phoenix Villa. This time around, it gave her an indescribable feeling. Everyone in their social circle knew that Phoenix Villa belonged to Ye Wenxuan.

Huang Ruobing was surprised when she heard that Ye Yang chose to have a meal here with Ye Wenxuan, and now, she wondered what that man’s face would look like when they entered the room.

Compared to her, Ye Yang seemed entirely indifferent to this, as if there was nothing wrong with the whole scenario.

“Do you think Ye Wenxuan will really show up?” Huang Ruobing was actually skeptical that Ye Wenxuan would appear as she was quite familiar with his personality.

Ye Yang nodded. “Relax, he’ll be here. Even if he doesn’t, if both of us dine here, he wouldn’t have the nerve to charge us a penny.”

Huang Ruobing shook her head helplessly, acquiescing with Ye Yang, who in turn found her reaction to be rather amusing.

Huang Ruobing could tell that Ye Yang would never do something he had no confidence in pulling off successfully.

“If that’s the case, let’s wait.”
