Runaway Rich Guys Love Endeavour

Chapter 7:Park Ye-Jin (part-2)

Ye-Jin hung up on the call and continued with her work.

So as seen just now Shin Jay was just not her close friend but also her sister's husband. Ye-Jin's elder sister Park So-ah was completely opposite from what Ye-Jin was. She had immersed herself in business from a pretty young age and now she was known as the most intimidating businesswoman of all times. She exuded a cold, chic and sharp image.

Shin Jay and So-ah had been high school sweethearts and their relationship had been blessed by each set of parents from the start being the close family friends they were.

They had gotten married previous month and had a house-warming party fortnight ago but Ye-Jin had been stuck that night dealing with the aftermath of a huge exposure of child trafficking racket. She had to immediately take care of rehabilitation's of the young children rescued, most of whom had been orphans.

So-ah had become pretty upset with her little sister for not showing up for an important event in her life. She hadn't even spoken to her nor heard to any reasoning given to her. Ye-Jin had felt completely responsible for upsetting her sister despite being busy.

The most important thing their parents had taught/drilled into both the sisters was that family was always important; no matter what happened family always supported you and it always comes first. So-ah was upset because she couldn't share her happiness with her little sister and Ye-Jin felt responsible for weighing more importance to her work.

Despite her exceptionally good looks (female lead is supposed to have them right??) and calm temperament, she was nowhere near a socialite who always strutted around in new fashionable clothes and high heels whereas her sister, well there is one word to describe her and that is: polar ice-caps and untouchable.

It was a miracle that her heart had been thawed by Shin Jay. It didn't mean that she didn't care. So-ah was most protective of her younger sister from a very young age. It had always been her who attended to Ye-Jin's every whim and whine even before their mother or any appointed nannies.

OK coming back to the phone call on the night of the housewarming. Ye-Jin didn't even rush to go home but as soon as the work was completed the first thing she did was to call her loving big sister to apologise. The first six attempts, So-ah didn't even bother to respond- it indicated how angry she was. For the seventh try, the call was answered but it wasn't her sister- it was picked up by Shin Jay.

Shin Jay : (softly) I don't think you should speak with her right now Jin.

Ye-Jin: (pouting) Can't I speak with her once?

Shin Jay: (sighing) now doesn't look like a good time. I can almost see fire coming out from her nostrils.

Ye-Jin: (gulping nervously) Bro! please!? I just want to apologise to her-

Before she could complete her sentence her plea was finally answered but

So-ah: (sounding eerily calm) who's this?

Ye-Jin: (shuddering at the sudden cold) big sis I-

So-ah: (calmly) I don't have any little sister, so don't call me big sis and stop calling random people in the dead of the night.

Ye-Jin felt as if she was doused with a bucket full of ice-cold water. Her sister had never spoken such harsh words to her ever. Although she didn't shout at her in anger or scold her fiercely the calm indifferent manner which she spoke in pinched her heart more.

Ye-Jin: (pitifully) big sis, please-

So-ah: I said- (voice cracking)-

Whatever So-ah wanted to say she couldn't complete it, she didn't think twice before ending the call. Her voice seemed heavy as if she was trying hard not to cry.

Ye-Jin felt horrible about the whole thing. She had seen her big sis cry only once when they were little and that was when Jin got hurt while following her around and second was today. The little change in voice at the end broke Ye-Jin's heart.

From that day she had tried her best to balance her both professional and personal lives in a suitable harmony.
