Revenge to The Devil

Chapter 66: He Left

Before I had finished, I heard a low, slightly worried voice outside the door. It was Jonathan asking, "Doctor, is my wife seriously hurt?"

I could not hold back my tears anymore, I was eager to hug and kiss him. I had never felt so vulnerable and expected his comfort.

The doctor said, "The sprained ankle is not serious, it is ok if she does not use it for a month."

"Thank you!" Jonathan said.

Then the doctor continued, "But... There is moderate bleeding in the lower part of the body, she may have lost a child".

"What do you say?" Jonathan asked surprised.

I turned to him with teary eyes and said, "I'm sorry!" When he saw Steven holding my hands, his worried face burned with jealousy.

He tried to suppress his anger and asked his bodyguard sharply, "What happened?"

The bodyguard said, "Steven intended to take Miss Desiree away. When we tried to stop him, she fell down the stairs."

Jonathan's expression changed, and he approached Steven step by step, he was enraged.

"Steven Luo, I warned you yesterday!" he said. I told you I wouldn't leave her if she was hurt."

When I saw Jonathan clench his fists tightly and point to the bodyguard, I realized the seriousness of the matter.

"No!" I dragged my painful feet to climb off the bed, opening my arms to shelter Steven. "Jonathan, it's my fault, not his! I promise that it won't happen again, and I won't leave you, never."

Jonathan switched his eyesight to me and said, "It's none of his business."

I nodded. "Give him a break!"

His face turned to the window. As a yellow leaf flew by, I spotted a beam of special sadness in his pupils. It stifled all my expectation and hope. I reached his hands and said, "We can have another baby."

He ducked and sneered, saying in a hoarse voice: "Don't let me see you again!"

"Jonathan! " In a panic, I tried to grab his arm, but he stepped back and turned around. He went out without a moment of pausing and lingering. His last look meant, "Let me go."

Finally, he chose to forgive, to give up, to complete my future by letting me go! He knew that I would not stay with him peacefully, so he racked his brains to stay me. Threats, imprisonment, including marriage, he tried these means just to keep me beside him.

Ignoring the pain in my ankle, I limped to follow him. "Jonathan..." I cried. He heard my calling, but he did not hesitate to pause and pulled the car door open to get in. He slammed the door hard.

I rushed to grab his door hand, patting at the window, "Trust me again," I cried. He didn't even look at me, "Drive!" he told the driver. The car started. I ran after the car and fell to the ground.

I watched him leave. I was wrong again! The moment I blocked Steven, I gave up the last opportunity. I had never hated myself so much. I knew that the two of us as a couple would not become much. Therefore, I was destined to miss the happiness in front of me!

Steven picked me up, from the roadside, and said, "Desiree, forget him! Your life is just beginning."

Struck by physical pain and mental shock, I could bear it no longer and fainted in his arms. I finally understood that the most intolerable thing in a relationship is cheating. Without trust, our relationship was so vulnerable!

Sitting in a cafe, I saw his car coming from a distance. I leaned towards the window and tried to see him, for fear of missing any expression or movement.

As usual, He did not get out of the car quickly, but until the bodyguards in the two following cars came up to open the door for him. Then he got out, putting his cigarette out between his fingers, and threw it away.

I fingered his figure carefully on the glass until he walked into the splendid building. I was used to waiting for him and hugging him, while now it was precious for me to steal a glance at him at a long distance.
