Revenge to The Devil

Chapter 47: Punishment

She looked at Jonathan with lovely and affectionate eyes, the same as me when I was pitiful. "Jonathan, I don't know her. She went for me as soon as she came in," she said. Her acting skills were so good that she never blinked when she lied and continued to tell Jonathan what happened, "She said I would be deserted by you sooner or later, so I was infuriated." She sobbed and choked, "I know it's wrong!"

"You already knew me, " I said as I intended to argue with her, Jonathan interrupted me calmly: "It's okay! I'll speak."

"Jonathan!" The woman grabbed his arms, looking at him with warm tears in her eyes. "I don't know her! I know it's wrong. Just beat me, but don't leave me!"

Jonathan smiled and pulled his arms away, saying "I would never beat a woman!"

"Then I'll get back!" I said and rushed over quickly to attack her, knowing that Jonathan was reluctant to beat the delicate beauty. I rolled up my sleeves and looked at her face and slim figure, hesitating to start. He grabbed my hands and smiled, "Save it, hit me later!"

"But... " I said. A relaxed expression showed on Evil's woman's face.

Jonathan turned to the nearest bodyguard behind him and said, "Control your strength, don't beat her to death.

After the evil woman was dragged into a room by two bodyguards, he asked me: "Desiree, did anyone see that you were beaten?"

"Oh?" I looked at the manager and the other waiters, whose expressions turned into panic. I said, "No, she hit me in the bathroom. Only my friend Lisa spotted it, and she has almost driven away for helping me."

"Well!" He glanced at Lisa, who was watching, then he didn't say a word.

"No!" a scream was heard from the room. Then hopeless sobbing came accompanied by a pitiful groan.

I felt dizzy. I forgot about the pain on my face completely and looked at him, "How can you do such a thing?"

"Yes!" he replied.

"Get a professional to take a look at it," he said. He wasn't considered as a ruthless man, but horrid. He destroyed a woman's whole life!

Hearing the bitter pleading inside, I could not bear it anymore. I cried, "Why are you always so cruel to those who love you?"

"Don't you have any mercy?"

"Jonathan, it is not kindness, but humanity!" I said.

Everyone nearby gasped and looked at Jonathan. He clenched his teeth, and his voice came out from between his teeth, "Desiree Li, I don't need your lessons. I can tell right from wrong! I have good judgment, knowing who I can sacrifice my life for, and who I can't be kind to... except you!"

I was stunned, he grabbed my hands and pulled me away and said, "Come back home and see to your swollen face."

When I left, everyone seemed to show a blank face.

Even Steven showed no sympathy but was solemn and heavy, his lashes hanging over his bright eyes.

He clenched his hands and never looked at me again! "Why did no one sympathize with the hurt woman, except me? Was I wrong again?" I didn't understand.

After all, it was a nightclub. It was a paradise for men, but hell for women. The women who were there should know what she would face...

Later, when I said goodbye to Lisa, she exclaimed, "He is so handsome. If he could love me once, I would die for him!"

I squeezed a bitter smile: "If he abandons you once, you will know a fate worse than death. "

When I got home, I left him alone and went straight to my room. He brought the ointment and pushed the door open without knocking.

"Have you any crueler means? I asked.

Seeing the fate of that woman, I gave up my wish to be beaten to death by him. It was true, he did not hit women! He had other means of torturing, with suffering worse than death, …humiliation.

"What if it were me?" I asked. He sat beside me, not knowing if it was the light, but his face was a little pale.

"If it were you," he said, then dipped his finger into a bit of ointment and slowly applied it to my face, "I'll tie you to your bed and listen to you begging."

I swallowed saliva and said, "I am being very serious!"

"So am I!" he said. I was silent and let him apply ointment to my face. He revealed the same concern as he did a few years ago when I was hurt.

"Just wait for me at home, don't show jealousy when you are out of the house," he told me.

"I am not jealous, I just don't like the arrogant air of that woman," I said.

He put the ointment on my lips and said, "The next time you don't like someone, just come back to tell me, don't fight about it, okay?"

My lips were numb, and I said, "Why can't I always hit you when I want, but I can't hit her?"

"That's because you have the privilege of bullying!" he said. I swallowed saliva again, not only were my lips numb, but my heart was paralyzed.
