Reincarnation of the Cheater

Chapter 1:Untimely End

The sounds of a keyboard echo throughout the silent 1 bedroom apartment. The surrounding area was surprisingly clean for a shut-in who only plays games for a living. There wasn't any clothes on the floor, or any random trash throughout the apartment. It was like someone hired a maid would clean regularly.

"One more… almost… and I won." I say anticlimactically as I adjust the blanket I have around me.

"Haha, dumbass. No matter how good you are you can't beat someone who has an aimbot and a mouse and keyboard on console. I don't even need to hide it since if I banned I can just make a new account."

1 Game. 2 Games. 4 Games. 8 Games. 16 Games.

After a while, I lost the will to continue playing this C*ll of D*ty. It may be the year 2316 but this game franchise has pushed on all the way from the early 2000s and is still a popular game today. Of course, they've been getting new content such as World War 3, World War 4, as well as World War Z where a zombie-like virus infected a country and they went wild. They could still speak somewhat but they would prey on anyone that wasn't infected with the virus. Eventually, they were wiped out but it took longer than anyone was expecting.

Technology advanced at a rapid pace as the entire world entered a new era. Video Games weren't limited to consoles now, there was a full dive Virtual Reality system that made it so you cna experience the game for yourself. Almost as if it was another world. With up to 98% immersement into the chosen game built into these headsets, humans started making games just like that one anime Sword A*t Online.

I turned off the console and turned on my laptop. Turning on LoL I decided to play some games until I got bored of that as well. As I closed the laptop my front door slams open and someone walks in.

"What is wrong with you, you promised that you would go to school today." My mother yells at me seeing me undressed.

It's been like this for months now. I can't find the will to turn up at school. I'm fine talking with anyone but I like to keep my space and sometimes I just don't want to be bothered with all the drama. I can't find the will to go to school because they all look at me differently. Like I'm an exotic animal from a zoo or something. They must have gotten the news. I haven't been able to resist those stares and ever since then, I've decided to just not go.

"I can't go today, I have something to do." I answer while going to the kitchen and make some instant Mac and Cheese.

After yelling at me to get dressed she eventually gives up and leaves. I love my mom but I don't think I can ever go back. It's just not the same anymore after the incident. I find it hard to look at my friends and I can't find the confidence to start up a conversation. I'm fine anywhere else but school.

Pulling the laptop back up I open it to a black screen so I continue trying to turn it on. Finally, it turns on to another black screen but this one has a sentence and some options. Reading the screen I can't help but laugh.

"Would you like to Die?"

[Yes/No]

'Is this a virus, or maybe a prank?'

Clicking no nothing happens so I continue to click it as hard as I can until eventually something new pops up on the screen.

[Thank you for choosing yes. Please wait as you are transferred to your "Death"]

As the new line comes up on the computer it shines brightly and eventually the light envelopes the room and I close my eyes from the brightness.

Breaking News: 18-Year-Old dies due to choking on some mac and cheese. After continuously trying to give CPR he was pronounced dead at the hospital this morning at 7:30 AM.
