Reborn As A Dragon!?

Chapter 29 - Am I Really Lucky?

(????) - "Very well, but my offer still stands..."

The same winds exit through the window and the window slams shut.

People get corrupt when they get approached by demons like this. I need to understand that this happens when people are in their weakest state of mind. I won't stoop so low as to cheat power.

Well, I don't think I will...

*Demon Mountain*

So, I just figured out that dragons can lay up to five eggs when they are pregnant. How the hell am I going to deal with five kids!? If my hatching said anything, a dragon could take up to 100 years to break out of its shell but some believe that since I hatched 90 years too early, I am not the smartest or most stable dragon.

*Cough, cough* Nightmare. I guess he will get placed as a side character from now on due to him being my familiar and it isn't Halloween anymore.

(*Nightmare*) - *eneraged cat noises*

*Ahem*

My early birth might have to do with me being one of the strongest dragons in existence, but I'm not completely sure. It just made me wonder what kind of monstrosity(ties) will come out of Hikari due to the combination with the two strongest dragons.

My dad was apparently killed during my 'moms' reign by the 8 heroes or something like that so he doesn't really need any explanation by the author and will just be put aside. How can I be a father when all I have to go off of is my knowledge from the earth? I assume that parenting a human child is different than parenting a f.u.c.k.i.n.g dragon.

If isekai dragon novels are anything to go by, then I would be the one who goes out and hunts and gets to be the bitch of the family. Now that I think about it, have I ever been in charge of anything in this world?

I-I can't think about anything, but how is it that an overpowered dragon like myself has always been dragged on by other beings? I will...no, nevermind. Considering who the person in charge is currently, I don't know if I would be able to. Having the personality of a Yandere and Tsundere is a scary combination for a powerful being such as Hikari.

I have decided, I will not follow the cliche isekai novel code and attempt to be a decent father!

What's nice is that I don't really have to worry about work or earning income for the family. I can just steal it from kingdoms or just secretly grab some money from Parthenia's cave. What would I even use this worlds currency for considering that I am a dragon?

However, making enemies with me, Alderam, the darkness dragon, is the fastest way to the grave. Well, only if you harm those close to me because the people can't really do anything to me now. *Sigh*, I totally just raised a flag, didn't I?

*Drurin Empire*

I am currently sitting in my bed thinking about what had just occurred. Why am I seriously considering this? I would've totally accepted it if I didn't read so many isekai's where a demon corrupts the kid. I don't want to be that guy who is destined to lose the fight in the end because of PLOT even though the villain is so much stronger than the rest of the people.

I create my own destiny as the protagonist of this isekai novel! I won't follow all of the cliche's that are set up and will make my own story! Things around me are going to be cliche, but I get to choose who I want to become.

I have come to terms that I am going to be kicked out of the Drurin empire because of my 'incompetence' as a hero. I will just have to find a way to train without the aid of a professional in this huge kingdom.

My train of thought gets broken as I hear a knock on the outside of my door.

(Head Knight) - "Charles, the king would like to see you now. Please get dressed to look more formal for the king."

Hah, it looks like it is time to go. I start to pack my things and get into my high school uniform as I don't have anything else to go in. Sweaty leather armor would look horrible in a clean throne room.

I exit the room and follow the head knight to the throne room where the king looks me dead in the eye with a look of pity. Yep, classic, the head knight is a little snitch. I kneel in front of the king with my head looking downwards. I have already cried enough today.

(Arthur) - "I have to apologize young man as my head knight, myself, and Farengar have all decided that it would be better for you to go live in my empire. I will make sure that you have enough money to start your life here. I am deeply sorry because we cannot return you to your previous world unless someone from your world can summon you back."

I had expected those words, but it was still devastating to hear. I can only nod my head as Farengar comes up to me with a tray with a bag of silver coins. I take them and immediately turn around and leave the throne room before any of them can say anything else.

I inwardly smile as I try to cheer myself up.

(Charlie) - "Heh, at least I didn't get accused of r**e and get shamed out of the kingdom like a certain shield hero."

I guess I should find an inn now that I am out of a luxurious room. I see a random inn that the author can't think of a name for and decide to book a room there. I enter the inn to see what seems to be typical adventurers drinking booze. I walk up to the front.

(Inn Manager) - "That will be 7 bronze coins. With meals is a silver coin."

If I remember correctly it is 10 bronze to a silver and 10 silver to gold. I don't even know the value of holy gold coins due to their rarity. I look into my bag to see...

Holy shit, they said it was silver coins right? I have a bag full of gold coins and I see a strange marking on top of a few of the coins. My luck might be a burden if I am this lucky. I hand him a gold coin to which he gives me a hard glare. Why is he doing that, I just gave him a gold coin?"

(Charlie) - "K-keep t-the c-change. *whisper* please."

The manager gives me the key to the room upstairs and doesn't ask me any questions. I go upstairs and turn around to see some of the people stop drinking and looking at me with hungry eyes.

Man, I'm exhausted, no wonder they kicked me out if I can't even handle this much. Stamina is definitely a priority when deciding what to work at first.

I lay down and drift off to sleep...

*That Night Unknown P.O.V.*

Damn, I'm going to be rich. Seems like some young kid wandered into an inn with a shit ton of money. I creek open his door to see him sleeping soundly. This should be easy enough.

Opening the door to where I can fit through, I look around and see his bag on the floor which I presume to have the money in it. I sneak around the bed and am about to grab the bag when...

My foot hits the edge of a floorboard that trips me...

*Third Person P.O.V.*

A man can be seen tripping over a floorboard and hitting his forehead on the windowsill knocking him out completely.

Somehow, the child sleeping in the bed didn't wake up and was having a nice dream about having a harem and slaying dragons.

That morning, our young 'protagonist' wakes up to see some random bald guy on the floor with a bloody forehead.

(Charlie) - "Ahhh, what the hell happened here!?"

The manager hears the girly scream and runs up to see the rich boy with the gold coins standing above a platinum ranked adventurer with the man on the floor being completely unconscious.

(Inn Manager) - "D-did y-you do this?"

(Charlie) - "I'm so sorry sir, I have no ide--"

(Inn Manager) - "Y-You managed to take out a platinum ranked adventurer that was trying to steal from you! I apologize for being rude to you earlier, I thought you were some random rich boy pretending to be a hero!"

Well, I guess he is a little incorrect on that last statement, but what the hell happened when I was asleep? Wait a minute...

If he was trying to steal from me and he just happened to get knocked out while I was sleeping, does that mean my luck translates into literal luck in this world? I just thought that it was meant for higher odds of drops.

It seems like I have a serious cheat in this world. Holy macaroni, can I just walk up to the dragon and get lucky enough to defeat it? With absurd luck, I might run into a hot girl on the streets and have it escalate to a harem!

(A/N - 10 INT really showing right here)

Hmm, they say luck can't kill a dragon. I beg to differ you 'head knight of the kingdom'. I can abuse my cheat to get strong enough to take out that dragon by myself! I don't need damn classmates to defeat the evil dragon of this world. I better get strong quick because you will never know when he will attack next. He might even come to destroy the kingdom tomorrow...

*Demon Cave*

(Alderam) - "I need to practice somehow. I only have a few weeks before Hikari lays her eggs. Hey author, how the hell am I going to be a father!?"
