Iron Blooded Female Admiral vs Vengeful Female Adjutant(3)

“Commander,” Qi Lin’s face paled, and she said, “I have always admired Your Excellency, but with my birth origins…it would have been impossible for me to pass the screening for the Storm Lion Legion.”

She decided to tell a half-truth: “Your Excellency must already know, that my father was a soldier of the Federation, and my identification card also labels me as a Federation citizen. With such origins, it would have been impossible for me to approach you, Your Excellency, so I used such methods.”

She knew that, unless an S-level confidential investigation was launched, her schemes would not be uncovered. As long as she handled this properly, Qi Lin assured herself that nothing could go wrong.

“Oh?” Gu Shengyin’s expression was indifferent, but her next words to Qi Lin landed like an explosive, “And here I thought, all your efforts to infiltrate the Storm Lion Legion and end up close to me, was in order to avenge your father.”

Qi Lin’s head jerked up. The person before her was still expressionless, but Qi Lin seemed to sense a faint hint of mockery within her chilly eyes.

Her Excellency the General, already knew everything.

Qi Lin felt a surge of helplessness fill her. Her schemes and plots for revenge, everything depended on a specific condition in order to achieve success, which was having Situ Jin’s trust.

If Situ Jin no longer trusted her, then she was just a minor adjutant, then all her plans would simply be impossible dreams.

This was also the reason Gu Shengyin chose to have a simple and crude showdown: the difference in rank between Situ Jin and Qi Lin was too drastic, so it was utterly needless for Gu Shengyin to waste any energy on her.

Without Situ Jin’s trust, Qi Lin would never have been able to interfere with the military chain of command, let alone tamper with the secure Storm Lions battleship.

Seeing that her true purpose had been revealed, Qi Lin stopped prevaricating, and sneered coldly as she looked at Gu Shengyin: “Since your Excellency already knows my true aim, then why are you still acting evasively? You are correct. I, Qi Lin, came to the Storm Lion Legion to seek justice for my father, who was needlessly murdered. What I want — is your life! Situ Jin!”

Gu Shengyin still held an utterly indifferent expression. Even Qi Lin’s vicious words did not affect her. She gazed at the emotional Qi Lin, as if she were merely watching a performing clown.

“Colonel Shen, come to Command.” She ignored Qi Lin, and called over another trusted confidant of hers, the captain of the First Fleet of the Storm Lion Legion.

“Your Excellency.” Shen An arrived very quickly. He was a very handsome heartthrob. If it wasn’t for the uniform and badge he was wearing, no one would have guessed that he was rumored First Fleet captain and best combatant of the Storm Lion Legion.

As soon as Shen An entered, he sensed the unusual mood within the Command Center. He saluted Gu Shengyin, then stood to the side and awaited instruction.

“Shen An, come and tell Major Lin Qi about the battle in northern Qingyuan three years ago, and who our opponents were.”

Shen An’s expression was startled. That year, he had fought alongside the general, and was one of the few people who had known their hidden mission.

This was a military secret! Shen An glanced at Gu Shengyin, but the soldier’s loyalty prevailed, and he meticulously detailed what had happened back then.

“Impossible! My father is an honorable Federal soldier! How could he be the mad and cruel experimenter that you accuse him as?” Qi Lin could not accept such a possibility at all.

If Shen An’s words were true, then wouldn’t her own beliefs all these years have ultimately been a joke?
