Oath of Love

Chapter 40

He wiped his face after he said the footstep, then took off the glass and threw it on the floor. He watched the tall and thin girl led by the house servant walking to him, leaning against the wall of the pool lazily.

Her full length skirt was blue like the water. She didn’t roll up her hair and let a few strands fall on her thin shoulders. She looked beautiful.

Ye Chengwei looked at her unseeingly. Nobody could tell what he was thinking about.

His 18-year-old little mistress had become a 23-year-old woman. With her last remains of innocence and newborn maturity, she looked unspeakably attractive.

She still looked like a pure and holy white lotus.

Tenderness in a corner of his heart which had been concealed for a long time rose up again. This time it was stronger than five years ago.

He thought he had forgotten the little interlude which didn’t really matter, but he didn’t.

She was still a virgin. Did she keep it for him? He remembered the 18th birthday deal that she owed him.

No. She wasn’t keeping it for him. She kept it so she could sell a good price in the parlor!

If it wasn’t him who came to the nightclub last night, she had already…Ye Chengwei didn’t want to continue his thought. He sneered and looked angry.

No one could touch the woman whom he had deserted. Not to mention that now he wanted her again.

He was angry at the thought that she said goodbye proudly to him five years ago.

Only this woman in the whole world dared to say goodbye to him.

Ye Chengwei told himself that he asked An Ran here just because he had discovered an old toy remained fresh. He was just a little interested. Nothing special.

She didn’t return what she had owed him.

An Ran looked calm while she walked to him. But she couldn’t help thinking about five years ago, she was in pajamas and walked panicky to the haughty man.

He buckled her ankle to drag her into the water. He taught her to swim and cuddled her…

An Ran gave a shudder. She stopped herself from recalling the past and told herself that she had nothing to do with the man. Nothing was worth remembering.

He might have called her here to remind her of the debt five years ago. There was a saying, times went on and on, but you still had to pay your debt…One could never run away from one’s debt. She didn’t want to avoid it. It was just that she had a bad work life. The companies went bankrupt easily and she didn’t save any money.

Plus the ten grand she paid for An Ze’s bail. Alas. It became worse.

The servant stopped about three meters away and said respectfully, “Young Master, Miss An is here.”

“You may go.” Ye Chengwei said lightly. His eyes didn’t turn away from An Ran.

The little woman had learned to pretend. She didn’t blush easily.

She seemed to stand aside him at ease. The wind blew her lake-blue dress, which made her like a fairy.

Ye Chengwei’s sight became more mature and deeper than five years ago when he looked at people. He soon detached An Ran’s weakness pretending silently.

She lowered her head and dared not to look at him.

He was intimidating like an emperor. People beside him could only bow to him.

“Come here.” He was still mighty and even more dominant than five years ago giving his orders.
