My Sweet Dr. Xu

“Gu Nantian!” Xu Zhiyin was so anxious she almost cried. Could he not be so self-wilful? “I’m sorry, it’s all my fault, I’ve admitted my fault, can you please let me go, please?”

She knew the matter wouldn’t end so easily but still naïvely harbored hope, thinking Gu Nantian would suddenly let her go.

“You say something but mean something else. Do you think I’ll forgive you just by saying you’re sorry and it’s your fault?” Gu Nantian could sense why she was scared and this made him even more uncomfortable.

Xu Zhiyin sighed and thought he was really difficult to coax.

With the last hope in her, she suggested, “Or, I’ll give you a kiss?”

To let him let go of her, she would rather sacrifice herself and do something she didn’t wish to do.

Upon hearing this, Gu Nantian let his hands fall.

Xu Zhiyin turned around and stared at the man. She skimmed around and when she was sure her mother had not appeared, she raised her head and kissed him. Then, very quickly, she wanted to leave.

Her lips touched his cheeks lightly and Gu Nantian felt his grievances subsiding although he knew the reason Xu Zhiyin kissed him was for him to let her go.

However, he had no resistance toward this woman.

Xu Zhiyin saw that he was not stubborn anymore and sighed in relief. However, Gu Nantian immediately held her arms again.

This rascal!

“How can you go back on your words?” She had kissed him but he refused to let go of her?

Gu Nantian asked, “Do you still want to leave me?”

Xu Zhiyin choked.

She didn’t want to return to Gu Nantian. It was with great difficulty that she had gotten the director to come to terms with her, she shouldn’t jump into the fire pit again, should she?

Gu Nantian saw her hesitance. “Looks like you don’t wish to go?”

“No, I feel I’ve come out. If I were to go back again, the director may be unhappy.” Xu Zhiyin found an excuse.

Gu Nantian said, “Really?”

He grabbed her arm with his hands and it seemed he was not planning to let her go.

Xu Zhiyin didn’t know how to deal with this man. “Gu Nantian, let go of me quickly.”

She was very scared her mother would suddenly appear.

Gu Nantian took the opportunity to threaten, “Do you still want to resign?”

“No, no, I won’t resign.” To Xu Zhiyin, it was better to work for him than to let her family know about her relationship with Gu Nantian.

Gu Nantian said, “You’re not genuine.”

“I’m extremely genuine! I promise you, I’ll go back and work. I’ll ask the director to summon that doctor back to the hospital.”

“It’s possible if you don’t wish to work for me.” Gu Nantian added.

Xu Zhiyin looked at him with uncertainty.

Gu Nantian continued, “I think being my wife suits you more.”

The minute Gu Nantian finished his sentence, Xu Zhiyin heard sounds of footsteps outside the door. Her mother must have returned. She pleaded, “Please let go of me.”

Gu Nantian seized her hand stubbornly, staring at her but not moving.

Xu Zhiyin frowned and look at him imploringly. What did he want?

She would be crazy if this continued!

The sound of her mother’s footsteps was getting louder and Gu Nantian’s hands were holding her tighter. Xu Zhiyin resigned to fate. She looked at Gu Nantian and regretted leaving his house without telling him.

If it were not for her irresponsible departure, things would not turn out this way, would it?

Just one second before Madam Xu walked in, Gu Nantian let go of Xu Zhiyin’s hand. Before Xu Zhiyin’s heartbeat returned to its normal rate, she heard Gu Nantian informing her mother of his departure, “Aunt, I’ll take my leave now.”

Madam Xu answered politely, “Leaving so quickly? Come and visit us again when you’re free.”

“Alright.” Gu Nantian smiled and walked toward the door.

Xu Zhiyin stood where she was and could feel her heart still thumping hard.

“Why are you still standing there? See Xiao Gu off.” Madam Xu urged Xu Zhiyin.

Hence, Xu Zhiyin went out.

She tailed Gu Nantian and neither talked.

Gu Nantian’s car stopped at the entrance. As he came here to see Madam Xu, he kept a low profile, with only one car.

Standing in front of the entrance, Xu Zhiyin peeped at the silent Gu Nantian. Under the moonlight, his side profile looked good. His jaw was firm with an air of arrogance…

He looked as if he was still angry.

Or he wouldn’t be so quiet in front of her.

Whenever he was angry, he was self-willed. Xu Zhiyin was afraid that one day, he would run to her mother and talk to her about their wedding. Hence, she decided to console him. “It’s my fault for leaving without informing you. Please don’t get angry.”

Gu Nantian took a glance at her. “So, what do you want to do?”

Xu Zhiyin replied, “I’ll tell the director tomorrow that I’ll be in charge of your case.”

She merely hoped this man would not talk about their wedding!

“Did you agree because you’re afraid I’ll marry you?” Gu Nantian raised his brows. How could he not sense she was afraid to marry him?

Xu Zhiyin dared not nod although that was the truth. She was afraid she would provoke Gu Nantian.

Gu Nantian looked at Xu Zhiyin whose head was down and who was feeling guilty. “You told me that day you wanted to sleep with me but don’t love me, do you still mean it?”

“What?” Xu Zhiyin raised her head. Her eyes widened with surprise.

Gu Nantian said contemplatively, “I thought about your suggestion and it sounds good!”

Although he wanted to gain her heart even more!

However, if this woman wanted to run away from him, he felt it would be better to tie her down.

Xu Zhiyin bit her lips. Although this had been her suggestion, she felt it was absurd now and regretted it…

Without waiting for her to deny, Gu Nantian took it as her tacit consent. “Get in the car!”

Xu Zhiyin stood in front of the car and was hesitant. Was she really going to follow him?

Qiao reminded her, “Dr. Xu, please get in the car.”

Since the matter had reached this stage, Xu Zhiyin didn’t know if she still could regret.

She clenched her teeth, got on the car and sat beside Gu Nantian.

The atmosphere is the car was quiet. As he was still angry, Gu Nantian did not talk much.

Xu Zhiyin was not used to such serious atmosphere.

Comparatively, she realized Gu Nantian had treated her very well previously.

She dared not look at Gu Nantian too. She merely looked out of the window quietly…

“Master, we are here.” Qiao’s voice was heard from the front.

The car stopped on the street. Xu Zhiyin regained her senses and looked out of the window. They were in front of a cinema.

“Are we going to watch a movie?” She looked at Gu Nantian, puzzled. It was around ten at night. After the movie, it would be midnight.

Gu Nantian did not answer but got down the car. Xu Zhiyin followed suit.

Qiao went to buy the movie ticket while she waited beside Gu Nantian…

Xu Zhiyin looked at the silent Gu Nantian and said, “Please don’t be like that.”

“Like what?” Gu Nantian asked indifferently.
