With this sudden influx of new abilities, I hoped to be able to increase my fighting ability against the vampires. This way, I'd be able to defeat them and gather more experience, exponentially increasing my strength.

It was another standard Soul Mark Strength upgrade. My speed and strength were increased once again, giving me a big boost to fighting strength.

From its name, it seemed to be just another upgrade to [Regeneration Blocker]. It was definitely the most useful ability at the moment. It seemed that against the stronger vampires, it wasn't enough to actually stop them from healing their wounds but it did give me precious time every time I dealt damage to them. It would take a little while for their wounds to heal which means that I would effectively be able to combo them whilst they were still regeneration.

That was the main use of it at the moment. Although it seemed that it was able to almost completely stop the regeneration of some of the weaker vampires nearby.

I then moved on to the next reward.

Upon killing a vampire, you are able to absorb its strength, thus increasing the power of your Soul Mark. The increase is dependent on the rank and strength of the vampire you killed. These buffs will infinitely stack with each other.

-

Ooh, it looked like there were more benefits to defeating vampires. From what I could see, I could continuously improve my Soul Mark by hunting vampires and consuming their strength. It also specified that there was no limit, stating that they infinitely stacked with each other.

This could be a breakthrough.

With all of these upgrades, I really wanted to get out the next day and fight some more vampires. I should be significantly stronger and with all these different abilities, I wanted to see how they'd play off of each other. I was still quite a bit behind the highest leaderboarders and I hoped that these upgrades would bring me closer to them.

At the moment, our main enemy was the vampires, and as such, most of my abilities would be used against the vampires. But assuming that there would be life after our war with vampires, these abilities would not only be used against vampires, but against other humans as well.

Most of them like [Regeneration Blocker] would be all but useless but some of the other ones and especially my Soul Mark would be permanently useful.

Well, it seemed that I had managed to pass Maia and sit in fifth place. Although, I was still behind Robbie and the distance between me and the top rankers still wasn't shrinking. Obviously, they also had access to the Shadow Hunter System so I didn't exactly have any advantages in that regard.

In terms of fighting against the vampires, they would likely have to act as well if we ever wanted to defeat them. Even with me in fifth, I was still struggling to fight against [Earl]-ranked vampires. Considering there were still two entire tiers of vampires above me and maybe even another rank above that, we were going to need all the manpower we could muster.

Not only manpower, but we needed humanity's strongest soldiers to work together against the vampires. At the moment, their strength was still incomprehensible, they were completely out of reach from us or the elves. It would likely be quite a while until we could fight hand-in-hand with them. At the moment, we were just being bullied by them.

I had used up the remainder of my experience so I decided to take a break after looking through all those menus and words.

I would be having my meeting with Elanor tomorrow where I wanted to discuss the current situation between us and the vampires.

I felt as if I had been somewhat left out of the loop so I wanted to get some up-to-date information from one of the top officials.
