Song Yazhan looked at Qin Mo and asked him in a meek tone of voice, "President, are we still going to The Monarch?"

Under the dim lighting, Pei Qian's face remained void of expression.

He sat there in silence. After a long while, he finally said, "Start the car!"

Song Yazhan naturally understood his meaning and pursed his lips before driving the car away.

It seemed that the possibility of Miss Gu and Qin Mo reconciling with one another was the reason for the President's bad mood.

During the car ride, Pei Qian was reading his documents with his head lowered as usual.

However, after ten minutes, he suddenly slammed the document on his seat.

He finally flared up…

Song Yazhan softly chuckled but kept it to himself.

They soon reached The Monarch and both of them walked into the suite which he had booked earlier on. Ten minutes later, Tang Xinru was invited inside…

After she and Pei Qian had finished their discussion, Tang Xinru clenched her fists…

After a long while, she finally said, "I will do a good job!"

Pei Qian curled his lips up and waved her away.

After Tang Xinru left, his phone rang.

He picked it up to take a look, only to realize that the caller was Gu Xi.

Pei Qian's expression turned colder and Song Yazhan immediately took his leave.

Pei Qian waited until the door was closed before he answered the call.

"Yes?" His tone definitely did not sound polite. In other words, his mood was terrible.

Gu Xi asked with hesitation, "Pei Qian, did you tell Qin Mo about our agreement?"

Pei Qian did not deny it and scoffed. "Isn't it great? Qin Mo is willing to pay the termination fee for you. Miss Gu, I should congratulate you, shouldn't I?"

His eerie and weird tone made her feel very uncomfortable.

"In that case, I have nothing else to say!" Gu Xi wanted to end the call.

However, he immediately said, "Are you that afraid of me?"

"Relax, I made a deal with Qin Mo. He will send the money to my office tomorrow and I won't touch you tonight." A hint of tease could be heard in his voice.

Gu Xi remained silent for a while before ending the call.

Looking at the starry night sky, she thought about Qin Mo's words today.

He claimed that he had never liked Tang Xinru and did not mind her relationship with Pei Qian.

Gu Xi knew him very well. She could only think of one reason that would make such a proud man like him give in—he liked her.

His words rocked her mind since she really did not know what to do anymore.

She would be lying if she said that she was not touched by his words, but she also could not help but feel conflicted. Why did he sleep with Tang Xinru?

Gu Xi just sat there in silence, only to feel a slight pain in her stomach because she had not eaten dinner yet.

She turned around to walk to the sofa and picked up her bag. She remembered seeing a bottle of medicine in her bag when she was at Pei Qian's place.

She ate the medicine with some cold water; however, the pain did not subside.

She lay on her bed to rest, only to doze off in the next second.

She did not sleep comfortably that night. She dreamt about her childhood as well as that big brother.

When it was morning, the little boy's face changed into Qin Mo. He looked at her with a deep gaze. "Gu Xi, let's get together!"

However, Pei Qian interrupted them and looked at them with a cold gaze. "Gu Xi, I am the person you are waiting for, not him!"

When she woke up, the sun had already risen. She was even sweating a lot.

The phone on her nightstand rang and she reached out to look at the caller. It was Pei Qian!

She answered the call despite her unwillingness.

"Be at my office by nine a.m. and bring the contract along." Pei Qian's voice was very indifferent. It was as though he was talking to a business partner.

Gu Xi's mind went into a flurry as though she had lost touch with reality.

She hadn't made a decision yet… If she accepted Qin Mo's help, she would have to get together with Qin Mo.

Otherwise, it would be too unkind of her.

"Pei Qian… I have not made a decision yet!" said Gu Xi in a soft tone of voice.

Pei Qian's voice turned colder. "Do you even have to consider?"

With that said, he ended the call.

Gu Xi immediately blew a fuse. Who gave him the right to decide for her?

She threw the phone onto the bed in a fit of anger before stomping to the bathroom.

Gu Xi looked into the mirror while she brushed her teeth and cursed Pei Qian out over a million times in her heart.

He was really the most horrible man she had ever seen in her life.

Luckily, she had forgotten about the happenings about that night. Otherwise… If she would remember… how they had sex with one another, she would probably have nightmares for the rest of her life.

Gu Xi brushed her teeth hardly as though her teeth were Pei Qian. She even bit on it harshly for a few times.

'He wants me to go?'

'I will go then!'

Perhaps she could make a deal with Qin Mo and slowly return the money back to him.

Gu Xi drank a glass of milk and ate a few pieces of bread before rushing out of the door.

She went to the company to address a few matters before driving to Empire Corporation.

She walked into the majestic hall and a beautiful lady, who was working at the front desk, smiled at her. "Manager Gu, our President is already waiting for you in the office."

The lady walked her to the elevator which Gu Xi gladly followed. After she had entered the elevator, the lady bowed. "Manager Gu, there will be someone to welcome you on the forty-fifth floor."

She maintained a faint smile until the elevator door closed.

Gu Xi naturally understood that the front desk worker was not allowed to take the lift to the highest level of the building.

And there would be a secretary waiting to welcome her at the highest level of the building.

However, little did she know, it was Pei Qian's personal elevator.

When the elevator door opened, Gu Xi walked out. Pei Qian's head secretary, Shen Miaoyin, immediately walked over to her and politely said, "Manager Gu, our President is already waiting for you inside."

Gu Xi nodded her head and the secretary helped her to open the door. Gu Xi walked in and the door gently closed.

She froze momentarily before seeing Pei Qian sitting behind his desk.

He was wearing a fitting white polo shirt which made him look taller than usual.

Also, he looked more mature because of the gray striped tie he was wearing.

The luxurious and exquisite cufflinks on his sleeve slightly moved, causing him to exude an air of noble elegance that looked especially pleasing to the eye.

Gu Xi could tell from his appearance that he was a very disciplined man.

Although Qin Mo's looks were second to none, he gave off a more casual vibe than Pei Qian.

It was not until then that Gu Xi realized that a man… could actually look so heavenly in a suit.

With the morning rays shining on him, he looked as if he was a God who descended from the heavens… And that caused her to fall in a daze.

Just then, Pei Qian looked up and his gaze gently landed on Gu Xi's face. "You're here?"

Gu Xi wanted to reply to him, but he cut her off. "Let's talk after Qin Mo has arrived."

"I guess you have thought it through!" His expression was very indifferent and he looked nothing like the man she knew from those nights before.

Of course, he was very charming… and Gu Xi naturally understood that it was very easy for a man like him to find a lady or even a pretty lady to stay by his side.

But she really could not understand why he had to choose her?

Or perhaps, Pei Qian was just trying to take revenge on Qin Mo just like how Qin Mo said it to be?

Gu Xi was not aware of Pei Qian and Qin Mo's relationship and there were probably not many who were aware of it either.

With that said, Qin Mo had some selfish reasons for not telling Gu Xi their relationship.
