My Chaotic City

Although Li Hanqiang had not planned to invite any other players to defend his city, he was still required to send out a notice for the mission.

Rapidly, a mission notice was posted in the Chaos Temple of every major city in every region.

“Chaotic City No. 68’s City Lord Li Hanqiang has announced a city defense mission. A lonely man’s life is like the depths of winter. A single man holding the city does so to wine and song. This is what it’s like to be invincible and there is nothing you can do about it. Come at me then, come and raid my city if you dare! @Emperor’s Rich Guild!”

After the mission notification had been sent out, a system’s notification chimed in, “Current mission joiners, 0/0”

0/0 meant there were no empty slots available, indirectly forbidding any gamers from even taking part in this mission!

After the mission notification had been sent and in order to gain more notoriety, Li Hanqiang proceeded to delay for a little longer before ending his prep time.

This current wave monsters were all Level 14 Mountain Wolves. The total health of each of these creatures was between 1200 to 1600 Hit Points.

The Rocket Tower was merely for show at the moment. All the melee little gremlins who did not have any Battle Carts were gathered at the final line in the rear and they were all screaming, “All hail the King!” Not a single one of them dared to advance while the three Green Gremlins were making doughnuts with their Battle Carts on their Chaotic Stone Slabs.

However with the Bright Lance Dark Arrow Tower in play, it appeared extremely intimidating.

Bright Lance Dark Arrow Tower was erected next to the Sword Tower. It could fire at a rate of once every three seconds. Bright Lance and Dark Arrow would fire at the same time. Bright Lance would come out of the tiny temple door while the Dark Arrows would fire from the top of the tower, like the flash of a shadow.

These simultaneous attacks could only be directed at a single target. Bright Lance had a chance of missing. However, the Dark Arrow could never be missed.

Mountain Wolves were normal monsters and these creatures never knew how to dodge or block attacks. If they were lucky, they would be able to dodge the open attacks once or twice. However, it would be extremely rare for them to dodge the attack more than twice.

Li Hanqiang was focused on the dual attacks of Bright Lance Dark Arrow Tower. He was able to see a series of frequent numbers in chains of three.

-50, -100 then the health bar immediately dropped to zero.

This was no different from a one-hit knockout. The effect of the attacks on a single target was basically explosive.

The Beast Hunter was a formidable and powerful opponent and his experience points were gradually increasing.

In this manner, the wave had lasted for three hours and it ended with Li Hanqiang’s perfect and successful defense of his city. He was awarded two Chaotic Stone Slab and a Small Money Pouch.

“Only an insignificant monster, nothing to fear!”

“Charge! Attack!”

The group of little gremlins were extremely excited at this moment and their spirits and morale were high. They were turning somersaults while the Green Gremlins made doughnuts with even more gusto.

“These were nothing more than a bunch of bootlickers!” Li Hanqiang had only used these gremlins as cheerleaders and although the gremlins were completely useless, they were at least stronger than a group of aunties doing line dancing.

After a perfect defense, Li Hanqiang had once again gone up to Level 8. The mob of little green gremlins were unable to level up, they were just there as a placeholder.

The Beast Hunter had also reached Level 4. His damage per second had increased to 60 and his experience card displayed 36/500!

However, the rewards from this wave were trash. Li Hanqiang had only managed to receive a single Random Defensive Tower Blueprint Fragment.

After placing the two new Chaotic Stone Slabs next to the mutated towers, Li Hanqiang proceeded to summon two more little gremlins to stand on top of that position as he immediately began another wave of battle.

Li Hanqiang chuckled as he sent out that mission’s notification, then proceeded to immediately end his pre-battle prep. After that, the monsters appeared out of the Space-Time Wormhole. This time, it was not a wolf, it was a tiger instead!

It was a Level 16 Feral Eyed Tiger!

It roared while charging forward!

Upon seeing that, all of the little gremlins were trembling in fear. Even the Green Gremlins were trembling in their boots. Li Hanqiang felt that if they were not limited to the Chaotic Stone Slab, they would have long fled the battle.

The Feral Eyed Tiger only had 200 Hit Points more than the Mountain Wolves. However, it had a greater movement speed. It was capable of advancing six to seven meters every second.

Even though that was the case, in three hours’ time, Li Hanqiang had once again defended his city perfectly and had advanced to Level 10. The Beast Hunter was now at Level 5, its damage per second had been increased to 75 and was now slightly better than a Basic Arrow Tower.

The reward this time was a single War Corridor Alteration Scroll.

[War Corridor Alteration Scroll (A1): Unique item, used only by the Chaotic City Lord. Upon usage, the War Corridor will be increased by a hundred meters and it adds another Chaotic Stone Slab.]

“There’s a number to these modification items, what if there are a series of items out there. However, it seems the effects of item number one are very limited. This reward is awful. Has the Emperor of Europe[1] abdicated?” Li Hanqiang lamented in silence. All he wanted right now was the Rapid Development Small Loot Box.

Li Hanqiang had never used the War Corridor Alteration Scroll. When he looked at the time, he noticed it was already three in the morning. However, he was wide awake at this moment since during the monster raids, he had slept in weird patterns, which gave him enough rest.

“I can initiate another Gold Coin Challenge!”

Hence without hesitation, Li Hanqiang had made his way toward the Limitless Tower and immediately started the Gold Coin Challenge.

Almost instantly, an army of Golden Infantry appeared in neat formations. They were quick to appear and they were also quick to die, leaving behind a huge pile of silver coins on the ground.

However, the second wave was the powerful Golden Cavalry and as usual, Li Hanqiang was still unable to stand up against it.

The Golden Infantry and the Golden Cavalry were known as Elite Monsters. Their HP were twenty times the normal amount, hence Bright Lance Dark Arrow Tower would not be able to trigger an instant kill. According to actual analysis, the combo would yield a total damage of 2,150 points. This should have been enough to instantly kill the golden foot soldiers, but it would be unable to kill the Golden Cavalry in a single combo. However, since the Golden Cavalry had taken some damage from the Fire Tower, which shaved off half of their total hit points, the Bright Lance Dark Arrow Tower was still able to kill them with a single attack.

However, they were just too numerous.

Therefore, Li Hanqiang’s current Gold Coin Challenge had killed a total of 248 Golden Cavalry which had yielded 40 gold coins and 40 silver coins.

Based on this result alone, he was still unable to exceed the single yield of Chun Sanyue ever since he had received 45 gold coins in a single challenge. Despite that, he had once again made it onto the leaderboard. He was ranked in the tenth spot.

“Hahaha! I, Li Hanqiang have returned!” Li Hanqiang proceeded to cackle out loud as he chose to display his nickname publicly. His name was displayed onto the leaderboard.

The little gremlins proceeded to once again praise him. They cheered, “All hail the great King, our King is invincible. Our King is spectacular and majestic and our great King has returned!”

Upon hearing the endless cheers, Li Hanqiang’s ego was inflated at that moment. He felt the need to brag and show off his results. Hence, he proceeded to begin the eighth wave battle and once again announced his mission.

Thus, it was almost instantly that the notification for that mission was sent. “Lord of the Chaotic City No. 68 has initiated another city defense mission. He has returned to the Gold Coin Challenge Leaderboard. Hahaha, I, Li Hanqiang have returned!”

The instant that message was sent, he slightly regretted his decision.

“An announcement like this is very tacky. It would only show how petty I am and would affect my majestic image. A powerful man should remain aloof and distant. I should reflect on my mistakes and be more humble and low profile. I will never be drawn to the usage of false titles,” Li Hanqiang reflected in silence.

[1] Chinese internet slang that originated from gaming. It refers to the notion that European monarchs were extremely good looking and had good fortune. This in context would mean that Li Hanqiang is lamenting his lack of luck.
