My Chaotic City

Gorgeous Banyue's Chaotic City was No. 12 and she similarly made use of Defensive Towers as a starter. Her announcement to defend the city came very late, and when the first wave of invading monsters arrived, she had four other players in support. 

Where she differed from Li Hanqiang's sole defense was that Gorgeous Banyue very clearly had a team. The four players who came forward to support her were all her acquaintances and were all female players. One was an Archer, a Magician, a Cleric, and a Warlock. 

All four were ranged heroes! 

In the horde of attacking monsters were the same old Black Pigs. However, they were easily dispatched by the four ranged heroes and the Arrow Towers. 

Gorgeous Banyue's luck was good. When she drew her reward, she got the construction blueprint for a Basic Cannon Tower. When it was constructed, it allowed her to easily dispatch the next wave of invading monsters. 

Li Hanqiang saw for himself the power of the Cannon Tower. Its firepower was formidable, especially against monsters whose movement speed was slow and loved to group together, such as the Little Black Pig and the Big Black Pig. With two rounds, it could kill a group of them. 

What made Li Hanqiang envious was that Gorgeous Banyue managed to claim a Basic Cannon Tower. Under the firepower of three Defensive Towers, she held off the third wave of invading monsters with ease. She did not even require adventurer players. 

Li Hanqiang skipped the replay all the way to the end to hear Gorgeous Banyue say, "Defending the first three waves of invading monsters is just the early game for the Chaotic City Lord. The following choice of their Passive Skill is very important. I'll run through it with everyone…" 

"Here's the important bit!" Li Hanqiang had yet to choose his Passive Skill as a City Lord, and he perked up as soon as he heard that Gorgeous Banyue was about to talk about the Passive Skills. 

"Passive Skills will affect the future playstyle of the Chaotic City Lord. Similar to their active abilities, the game provides three initial Passive Skills. They are Money Maker, Stone Slab Mastery, and Awakened Ability. You may choose any one of the three." 

"The Money Maker Passive Skill will double the gold accumulation rate of the Chaotic Treasury. Don't look down at this Passive Skill. For a beginner, one can say it is the most beneficial one. After defending against the third wave of invading monsters, the Chaotic Treasury will appear in the Chaotic City. The Chaotic Treasury accumulates one gold coin per hour, but with Money Maker, this will double to two an hour. That means that you can get 48 gold coins a day! As long as you have money to buy Defensive Towers, it makes defending the city easy. Therefore, I suggest that players who don't think they're particularly lucky or prefer to be idle to take up this Passive Skill." 

"As far as I know, the Chaotic Treasury can be upgraded in the future and it will increase the speed of gold accumulation, thus making the double accumulation of Money Maker even more viable." 

"The Stone Slab Mastery Passive Skill allows City Lords to use the energy stored in the Chaos' Core to create more Stone Slabs. Choosing this Passive Skill allows for the unlocking of combining, moving, deletion, and separation of Stone Slabs to be unlocked. Players who chose the Chaotic City Lord profession all understand the importance of Stone Slabs, and the ability to combine Stone Slabs is a prerequisite to expanding The Chaotic City and building higher level Defensive Towers. City Lords who enjoy a creative playstyle can consider picking this Passive Skill." 

"The third Passive Skill, Awakened Ability, is the Passive Skill that I am intending to pick. The effects of this Passive Skill is that every level up of the Chaos' Core increases the maximum capacity of energy it can hold by 10%. Furthermore, the Chaos' Core Chaotic Energy regeneration rate is increased to 2 points per hour. Let me tell you, the Chaos' Core is extremely important. Later on in the game, leveling up Special Defense Towers and the activation of Chaotic Technologies all require Chaotic Energy. Of course, in the early game, the effects of this Passive Skill are not apparent, so I don't recommend it for novice players." 

"Furthermore, if these three Passive Skills are not to the player's liking, the system also provides for a random Passive Skill option. For the price of only 100 gold coins, you can get a random Passive Skill which cannot be changed once you choose it. However, I would advise everyone to not pick the random Passive Skill under any circumstances. In my experience, the random Passive Skill has a 90% chance of giving you a useless Passive Skill which can never compare to the other three you can choose from, and you also have to spend 100 gold coins on it. Of course, if you're feeling lucky, you could give it a shot."

As the playback ended, Li Hanqiang frowned. Which Passive Skill should he go for? 

This was a problem. Li Hanqiang found it hard to make a decision at the moment and chose not to ruminate on it. He decided to just browse the streaming platform. 

Endless World was trending and there were many streamers streaming gameplay of it. Of course, the quality was varied. There were big streamers, unknown streamers, as well as variety streamers, and salted fish streamers who just streamed for amusement. 

Li Hanqiang picked a random stream that was related to the Chaotic City Lord profession and discovered an amusement streamer whose in-game ID was Fat Tiger Really Doesn't Know. 

This streamer's luck was bad, as no players had come to support him in defending against the first wave of invading monsters. 

What was supposed to be an easy perfect defense for the first wave of monster attacks turned into a disaster as the fellow had to keep controlling the Arrow Towers and wasted many actions. In the end, he could not defeat the Flying Old Black Pig, and 15 little Black Pigs escaped. The Chaos' Core instantly lost 30 Chaotic Energy. 

When the second wave came, a Knight player came. Fat Tiger Really Doesn't Know kept complaining that this player did not look good and controlled the Arrow Tower to kill the player. 

He was so caught up in his amusement that the monsters eventually overwhelmed him and the Chaos' Core was soon destroyed by the big Black Pigs. 

Having lost defense of the city, Fat Tiger Really Doesn't Know was immediately reduced in level by one and lost all of the gold that he had. Furthermore, his only Arrow Tower was forcefully demolished. This caused him to rage, and he immediately stopped the stream. 

Li Hanqiang felt that Fat Tiger Really Doesn't Know would be dissuaded from playing further. 

"All in all, my start in the game was not too bad. I spent a good amount of time watching streams, so I think it's time for me to get back online. Nothing else but victory matters!" Li Hanqiang found out that it was already 6pm without him realizing it. He had a thought and immediately logged on to Endless World. 

The screen before him turned black, then came back on again as Li Hanqiang was back at Blue Ripple Pond. A large chain of system notifications popped up.
