Monument of Life and Death

Chapter 549: carbon

  Chapter 549 Charcoal

Xiaolan snorted contemptuously, and grabbed the rope-like thing, which turned out to be a vine with forearm thickness.

"I can save you," Baomu tightened the vine and shouted softly, "but you have to help me **** Xiaolan up. I'm not sure if this vine is not strong, you two will protect it first. Could you please give us a little girl?"

Baomu has matured a lot, but his tone of voice is still so gentle.

The green-haired and long-haired boy hurriedly agreed.

The long vines are very strong. When Xiaolan grabbed the vines and climbed up, she lowered her head and saw the two people below stretched out their hands with great enthusiasm and made a gesture of protecting herself.

Finally, she saw Baomu's familiar face.

Baomu held the vine with one hand, and reached out with the other hand, and grabbed Xiaolan's right arm vigorously.

Xiaolan noticed that Baomu's arms and palms were sticky. When she climbed onto the ground, she lowered her head and took a closer look, only to find that it was actually all blood.

"Brother Baomu, what's wrong with you?" Xiaolan asked Baomu's arm and staring.

"This is not my blood," Baomu pointed to the dense jungle, "When I approached here, I saw a strange animal. When I saw that animal, it was already dead. This is its blood."

   "Strange animals?"

Xiaolan remembered the slow footsteps approaching here before Baomu.

  And those two wailings.

She looked around warily, "I think it seems a bit dangerous."

From the bottom of the cave came Green Mao’s cry, "Brother! And us! Please, please!..."

Baomu stood still, he glanced at the bottom of the cave, raised his head and asked Xiaolan, "They didn't bully you, right?"

"Bullied," Xiaolan knelt down and grabbed the vines, "but there is no way, I can't throw them here."

Feeling that the vine was tightened, Lv Mao quickly grabbed the vine and climbed up, and soon he climbed to the entrance of the cave.

Xiaolan glanced at him slantingly, and snorted coldly, “Now you still feel that my strength is low, so I am not suitable for the first to climb up?”

Green hair was speechless, the three of them worked together to grasp the vine, and finally rescued the last long-haired boy.

"Thank you." The long-haired boy looked at Baomu blankly.

Baomu shook his head, lowered his head and asked Xiaolan, who was close to him, "Where shall we go next?"

   Xiaolan also shook his head.

"Brother, wherever you say to go, we will go wherever you go." Lv Mao leaned close to Baomu, putting on a courteous appearance.

He had obviously regarded Baomu as a big-shot figure, and he was ready to hold his thigh.

"Huh?" Baomu gave him a blank look, then at Xiaolan, "Shall we... go together?"

"Brother, you can't leave us behind."

Lv Mao came up to grab Baomu, but Xiaolan stretched out his hand to stop him.

"Let's go by ourselves," Xiaolan dragged Baomu toward the path, "It's still safer for the two of us."

Baomu gave Lumao a sorry look, and obediently ran away with Xiaolan.

Lv Mao shouted "brothers" and "brothers" behind him, and the two turned a deaf ear.

The long-haired boy looked coldly at Green Mao's appearance, and didn't mean to partner with him. He also slowly left along the path, and disappeared among the dense woods in a short while.

   "Where are we going?"

Baomu ran with Xiaolan for a while. Seeing that Xiaolan didn't seem to be simply running around, he opened his mouth and asked.

Xiaolan stopped abruptly and glanced around anxiously, “We should find a place to wash the blood off your hands first... Brother Baomu, why do you get so much blood on your hands?”

Baomu looked down at his hand, “It’s too dark, I can’t see the road clearly, only the smell of blood, so I accidentally fell on the corpse.”

Baomu has indeed grown a lot, and can actually say this kind of thing lightly.

Hearing Baomu’s words, Xiaolan was suddenly startled, "Brother Baomu, is there blood on your clothes too?"

The two had already reached a place with a wider field of vision. Xiaolan looked on Baomu's coat and found a small dark trace on the right side of his coat.

"It's over, it's stained," Xiaolan pulled up Baomu's sleeve, "Brother Baomu, take off his jacket!"

Baomu was unconscious, and he hurriedly took off his coat without stopping under his feet, and then ran forward following Xiaolan.

Xiaolan ran along the route she remembered, and finally, sparkling waves against the moonlight appeared at the end of their sight.

Fortunately, I remember correctly, there is indeed a creek here.

After urging Baomu to wash his arms in the water, Xiaolan also washed his face upstream.

The water droplets on his face had not yet been wiped dry, and a low pressure roar sounded from the dense forest behind the two.

Baomu quickly turned his head and stared at the deep and dark forest in horror.

Xiaolan immediately leaned to his side and asked, "How far is it from us?"

Baomu sniffed, "It's not far...maybe, it looks like three or four hundred meters."

"Hurry up and throw the clothes away," Xiaolan stood up, "just throw it here."

Baomu’s blue coat was left on the muddy river bank, and the two ran up the creek under the moonlight.

The low roar of the monster has been lingering in the forest. The owner of the voice is moving much faster than Xiaolan and Baomu. When the two only ran for more than a hundred meters, a loud roar suddenly sounded behind them.

The two jumped away from the bank of the river and plunged into the woods desperately.

Xiaolan hides behind the bushes and looks at the place where the two men discarded their coats.

Far away, only a black shadow can be distinguished.

For some reason, Moonlight only outlined an extremely vague outline. Even though she was not too far away from the thing, Xiaolan still could only see a black group with fuzzy edges.

"Brother Baomu, can you see clearly?" Xiaolan asked in a voice.

Baomu's face was red, he squinted his eyes and took a hard look, and finally shook his head, "I don't know why, it's blurry."

"Is it the same thing as the corpse of the monster you saw?"

Baomu frowned, "Actually, I didn't see the look of the corpse too clearly."

"How could this be?" Xiaolan turned around and looked at Baomu.

"I don't know how to say it," Baomu tilted his head in confusion, recalled, "Although I saw the corpse and fell on it, the thing seemed... as if shrouded in darkness. At the time, I thought it was because the light was too dark."

"Then do they smell the same? Is it the smell you have smelled in real life?" Xiaolan asked Baomu's familiar question.

"It smells...similar," Baomu raised his eyes. "In real life, I haven't smelled the same smell, but if I want to say it...they smell like...charcoal."
