Monument of Life and Death

Chapter 512: Hallucinations?

  Chapter 512 Illusion?

Xiaolan sat beside Lily's bed, looking at the book in her hand.

Today’s fairy tale book is not the "Blue Beard".

  Xiaolan's mood was somewhat relaxed.

Lily was still lying in the quilt in the same posture, her dark eyes flickering in the candlelight.

Xiaolan opened the book and told today’s story in the softest tone.

While thinking, Xiaolan felt her eyelids gradually darken, everything in front of her blurred, pink curtains, burning candles, and Lily’s mysterious eyes...

Until she heard a heavy gasp.

  The sound of rain.

The smell of mud and grass squeezed into Xiaolan's consciousness.

  The picture becomes clearer.

  I am running.

She was barefoot, stepping on the rain-soaked green grass, and ran forward desperately.

It is the black spire standing in the dark ahead.

  Dreaming?

  I fell asleep?

Xiaolan was annoyed for a second, but quickly reacted. Did he enter into whose past through dreams like before?

There was a stinging pain under the feet, raindrops falling on the top of the head, and the sweet smell in the air.

  Such a real dream.

Xiaolan continued to run towards the minaret.

It would be a good thing to know the secret of the minaret through this dream.

The arched door at the entrance of the minaret is bare, and a steep spiral staircase leads to the upper end of the minaret.

Xiaolan shook the rain on her body and walked up the stairs.

It is empty here, and there is no debris, and there seems to be no space to store items.

  Yrel is lying?

At the top of the minaret, there is a wooden door with a wooden latch. Xiaolan pushed the wooden door, only the lock creaked.

this is……

Snapped!

Suddenly there was a sound of something breaking from the corridor at the top of the minaret. Xiaolan hurriedly walked around the wall and came to the hollow at the top of the tower. A circle of clay flower pots was placed on the battlement, one of which was missing , I think it was the sound it made just now.

Xiaolan leaned out his upper body and looked down the tower. Sure enough, the broken flowerpot was lying on the ground, already turned into fragments.

Suddenly, a huge thrust came from behind, Xiaolan screamed shortly, and vainly grabbed an empty space on his side with both hands, and the whole person was like a discarded bag, falling from the battlement. It quickly fell to the ground.

Xiaolan fell heavily to the ground.

   soon lost consciousness.

When   woke up again, Xiaolan first heard the rubbing sound in her ear.

Light.

The warm orange light hit Xiaolan's eyelids.

  Is the sky finally clear?

Xiaolan opened his eyes, and what caught his eyes was Yrel's concerned expression.

She was lying on the bed, Xiaolan looked out the window. It was dawn, but it was still cloudy, and the rain was even heavier, crackling on the glass.

Xiaolan suddenly remembered what happened last night.

"I'm sorry," Xiaolan immediately sat up, "I'm sorry, I fell asleep, Lily..."

Yrel put on a puzzled expression. Seeing Xiaolan was stunned, he asked weakly after a while, "You...this morning, the servant found you under the tower. Why did you go to such a place at night? What?"

  Xiaolan is stunned.

"tower?"

"Yes," Yrel nodded, "The servant went to the tower in the morning to fetch some spare food, and when I saw you... you were lying on the steps at the entrance, and your head was..."

Xiaolan saw Yrel's eyes turn to her forehead, only to realize that her forehead was a little bit painful, and she reached out and touched it. It turned out that her head was wrapped in thick layers of gauze.

  It's not right, it's wrong.

"Did I go to that tower last night?" Xiao Lan muttered in surprise.

  I am clearly dreaming.

Mingming...I'm in Lily's room, telling her a story.

"Lily... Where's Lily?" Xiaolan looked around.

"The children just used lunch and are taking a lunch break," Yrel put the tray on the dressing table onto the bedside table, "You must be hungry, you have been in a coma for so long..."

"That's not right..." Xiaolan supported her forehead, struggling to get out of bed, "I didn't... and..."

  Yrel looked at Xiaolan curiously.

Xiaolan closed her mouth and thought for a moment.

  Is it still dreaming now?

But the pain in the forehead is real.

Xiaolan still remembers the icy pain when she fell to the ground last night.

  Where is the problem?

There is a more important question.

Last night, who pushed yourself down?

Irel helped Xiaolan out of the room, and at the same time, the doors of the two children opened together.

"Are you awake?" Lily glanced at Xiaolan and jumped out.

"Lily," Xiaolan grabbed Lily's little hand like a life-saving straw and squatted down, "Didn't I tell you a story last night?"

Lily tilted her head and blinked her eyes, "Last night, you said you were tired, so I went straight back to the room."

Don’t tell Lily a story at all?

Xiaolan tried to search for the content of the fairy tale book in his memory, but in any case, he couldn't remember even a little bit related to that story.

"After eating the meal last night, you were groggy," Yrel whispered beside Xiaolan, "It's just that I didn't expect you to go there. I thought you just need to ask..."

So, at least yesterday’s conversation with Yrel was true.

what happened?

Xiaolan was frowning and thinking hard. There was a sudden icy cold from her left hand. Xiaolan lowered her head and saw Moses grabbing her left hand. Her beautiful black eyes flashed, "Are you better?"

Xiaolan sighed, then forced a smile and said, "I'm fine."

"Are you afraid?" Moses shook Xiaolan's hand, "Moses can protect you."

Xiaolan smiled and shook her head.

"Moses can go to your room to protect you," Moses' dark eyes seemed to be darker, "Can I go to your room?"

Xiaolan gaped, but Yrel grabbed Moses’ hand and said, “Oh, our kind little angel, your teacher is a brave and beautiful lady who can protect herself.”

The two children were dragged forward by Yrel, their eyes still fixed on Xiaolan.

Before dinner, Yrel strongly asked Xiaolan to go back to the room to rest, and the two walked back to the second floor with the servant who lit the candle.

Yrel thoughtfully made Xiaolan's bed and the bandages that needed to be replaced. Xiaolan strolled in the room and walked to the window unconsciously.

The outside window edge is clean and there is no trace of blood stains.

"When was this cleaned up?" Xiaolan asked casually.

Yrel stood up, "Clean up what?"

"Blood," Xiaolan pointed out the window, "The night before, that pigeon."

  Irel's eyes became more confused.

"What pigeon? What are you talking about?"
