Monument of Life and Death

Chapter 1066: imprint

  Chapter 1066 Imprint

"The spot of light on your forehead..." With confusion and relief, Yi Yao's body slowly relaxed, "It's gone."

"Huh?" Xiao Lan poked her forehead, with a slightly impatient expression on her face, "It... isn't here anymore?"

Yi Yao nodded truthfully, "There is nothing on your forehead now."

Not really, at least there must be a lot of dust.

"When did you disappear?" Xiao Lan brushed the dust off her clothes, stood up with her hips crossed.

If she hadn't confirmed it with a mirror, Xiao Lan would have wondered if Yi Yao was playing tricks on her just now.

"I don't know too well," Yi Yao recalled, "Thinking about it carefully, it seems that since you stained your forehead, those light spots have disappeared."

Xiaolan wiped the dust on her forehead vigorously, "Isn't it really covered by dust?"

"No," Yi Yao stared at it for a while, and said, "It's really gone."

   "Hiss..."

The two held their arms and looked at each other, lost in thought.

"That spot of light first appeared in this corner of the wall, and then suddenly moved to my forehead," Xiaolan pointed to the corner of the wall and her forehead in turn, "Then could it be... moved to other places?"

Yi Yao slowly put down his hand, opened his eyes with Xiaolan, and looked in other directions.

Not long after, Xiao Lan found the spot of light on the edge of the incense platform.

"Uncle Yi! Here!" Xiaolan pointed at the light spot that appeared on the incense stand and shouted, "Come and have a look, is this the one just now?"

Yi Yao walked over quickly, watched closely for a long time, and nodded firmly.

"that's it."

"It's so weird," Xiaolan poked at the spot of light, but only felt the rough texture of wood, "What the **** is this? Why is it still running around?"

While talking, the spot of light seemed to have heard Xiaolan's words, and in the blink of an eye, it disappeared again under the eyes of Xiaolan and Yi Yao.

The two of them were dumbfounded.

   "Uncle Yi..."

Yi Yao understood what Xiaolan meant.

"Same as before, it disappeared very suddenly," Yi Yao said, "Xiaolan, have you noticed how the light spot disappeared?"

"How did it disappear?..." Xiaolan scratched her head, "What do you mean?"

"In my opinion, the disappearing process of the light spot is like the sunrise on the beach gradually sinking into the sea, a slow sinking action," Yi Yao said seriously, "What do you think?"

Xiaolan bit her lip and tilted her head.

How should I say it? ...I didn't notice the process of the light spot disappearing at all. From my point of view, it just...disappeared with a whoosh.

However, if I say this now, will I look stupid.

definitely will.

But…

"Look, Xiaolan," Yi Yao said while bending over, pointing to a place inside the incense platform, "Do you feel... there is a mark here."

  mark?

Xiaolan squatted down slightly, and looked in the direction Yi Yao pointed.

Inside the edge of the incense stand where the spot of light once appeared, there is a vague outline, as if someone has clumsily carved something here with a knife. The outline is a closed shape. It's hard to tell what pattern that is.

"What is this?" Xiaolan changed various viewing angles, but still couldn't understand, "Has it always been here? Or..."

"I don't know either," Yi Yao tapped the tabletop of the incense table with his nails a few times, and said suddenly, "Let's go to the corner over there to look."

The two returned to the corner, Yi Yao stretched out his hand to wipe the dirty floor, Xiao Lan held a candle in his hand, and followed Yi Yao's movements, and lit it over.

After a few minutes, the two made a new discovery.

"Uncle Yi, here," Xiaolan said, sweeping the dust off the ground with the back of her hand, pointing to a shallow mark, "is this right?"

That is also an imprint that is difficult to distinguish the shape. If you don't look carefully, it is easy to regard it as an ordinary scratch.

"It's also a closed pattern," Yi Yao said, cleaning up the remaining dust in the gaps with his nails, "So...the place where the light spot appeared, will leave such dust."

Xiao Lan nodded slowly, her mood changed.

Then, the two "hissed" at the same time.

   "Then I..."

"then you…"

Xiaolan immediately hugged her face, widened her eyes in horror and said, "Uncle Yi, there are no strange marks on my face?!"

Yi Yao narrowed his eyes, trying to find the same pattern on this small dark face.

After a few seconds, Yi Yao nodded affirmatively, "Don't worry, no."

"Really?" Xiaolan breathed a sigh of relief, "I'm scared to death...if my face..."

"Hey! Wait!" As soon as Xiaolan turned her back, Yi Yao stopped her loudly, "Xiaolan! The back of your neck!"

"Neck?" Xiaolan turned her head with great effort, as if she could see the back of her neck through this movement, "What's wrong with my neck?"

"The mark...is on your neck!" Yi Yao's voice was low and undeniable, "Xiao Lan! The same mark appeared on the back of your neck!"

Xiao Lan couldn't see it, so she could only use her hands to scratch around, "Where is it? Where is it..."

"It's right here!" Yi Yao took Xiaolan's finger and poked it on the mark, "Do you feel anything?"

The imprint is engraved on the corresponding position of Xiaolan's sixth cervical vertebra. Like the imprints on the incense stand and the corner of the wall, they are all closed patterns with indistinguishable shapes.

Xiaolan's fingers stroked the mark, and as soon as she touched her hand, Xiaolan heard an ominous sound coming from her heart.

She felt it, a bump on her skin.

"There was no such thing before, right?" Yi Yao confirmed again and again, "Xiaolan, this could be your birthmark or something..."

"No, I don't have such a birthmark," Xiaolan said immediately, "It's the same as those two marks, brought by the light spots."

For some reason, Xiao Lan has calmed down now.

"Is there anything uncomfortable?" Yi Yao asked after testing the temperature of Xiaolan's forehead.

Xiaolan felt it for a while, then shook her head inexplicably, "The strange thing is, I don't feel anything."

"Even if we don't feel it now, we shouldn't be careless," Yi Yao patted Xiaolan on the shoulder and said, "Xiaolan, if there is anything wrong with you, you must tell me in time."

Although Xiaolan wanted to tell you what's the use, she still nodded her head obediently on the surface.

"Uncle Yi, that spot of light has appeared again," Xiao Lan pointed to one of the coffins and said, "Look, it's over there."

This time, the light spot appeared on the edge of the coffin. After a few seconds, the light spot disappeared. Sure enough, a new mark appeared on the coffin.
