19 - A Misunderstanding With A Glittering Smile

“Ah, so tired,” Lulurun moaned.

After a hard day’s work, Lulurun collapses on a table where the customer had just sat before.

“It’s easy if I could use magic, but if I use that, I’ll be branded as a witch…” Lulurun muttered.

“Hey, Lulurun, get up already!” Balkan yells from the back of the store.

“Aaaiii,” Lulurun groaned, still on the table.

“Are you really so tired?!” Balkan yelled as he came out of the kitchen to the exhausted Lulurun.

“It can’t be like this every day, can it?” Lulurun whimpered.

“It is, gah-hah-hah-ha!” Balkan laughed raucously. Then, he continued, “Well, I still think you’ve got a lot of guts for a young person.”

“You really think so?” Lulurun asked.

“Since you started working, sales have been on the rise, can’t you be a little more proud of yourself?” Balkan said.

“Am I helping you?” Lulurun asked.

“Well, so-so,” Balkan

“So-so, huh?” Lulurun said.

Lulurun expresses her regret by putting her face against the table.

“We’ll be busy again tomorrow, so hurry up and go home and get some rest! You’re good!” Balkan yelled.

“Aaaiii,” Lulurun groaned.

Then, someone yelled, Lulurun sat up.

Crash, cling, cling, cling, rattle-rattle, bang, crack!!

The sound of (not just) plates breaking echoes from the kitchen.

“What the hell are you doing?!” Balkan yelled.

“Oh no, oh no, I’m so sorrryyy!”

“You don’t have to clean this up! Get out of here already!”

“Euuuhh, okayyy.”

It was a familiar scene in this restaurant, an employee breaking the tableware.

The girl who came out of the kitchen was young, but her big breasts didn’t suit her petite body and were definitely bigger than Lulurun.

“You did it again, Syll?” Lulurun asked.

“Yeah, I’ve done it again,” the girl named Syll replied, her eyes trembling as she cries at Lulurun.

This was the first girl Lulurun had helped after she reincarnated in this world, by saving her from the witch-kindred.

She was also a lifesaver, helping Lulurun who was about to starve to death.

After Lulurun was hired at the Magilia Dining Hall, they met again three more times.

“How can I be a cool woman like you, Ms. Lulurun…?” Syll asked.

“Hmm, is that so?” Lulurun muttered. “I don’t really understand what your standards of ‘cool’ are, but I can understand a man’s heart, so maybe that’s why I look cool…”

“How can we fix my screw-ups?” Syll asked.

“Yeah, about that,” Lulurun said.

Lulurun suddenly remembers the subordinates she worked with back in her original world. Lulurun has seen many people who make mistakes at first fail and then grow past them, she gently talks to the depressed Syll.

“It’s alright if you fail, I’m sure that was just a broken plate, you can still grow, and the plate can be fixed,” Lulurun said. “You should think about why the plate broke when it happened, Syll. Then, you can think about how to act next time so it doesn’t happen, trial and error! Everything boils down to that.”

“Ooooh, that sounds difficult,” Syll moaned.

“Sorry, sorry, just think about what happened so you don’t repeat the same mistake.”

“What should I do if I make the same mistake…?” Syll asked.

“At that time……” Lulurun said.

“At that time?” Syll asked.

Syll stares expectantly into Lulurun’s eyes.

“Just be honest and say you’re sorry,” Lulurun said, smiling and patting Syll on the head.

Syll feels like a younger sister to Lulurun, she makes Lulurun feel calm, and so she felt that taking this time out to talk with her was worth it.

“I’m scared when he gets angry,” Syll said.

“Right, well, that’s just how our boss looks and speaks, but he can be pretty kind, so it’s alright, it’s fine,” Lulurun said.

“Right, I’ll do my best!” Syll said.

“Yeah! Good luck! If you’ve got any problems, just seek me out and I’ll help you, so don’t worry.”

Syll’s expression was shining brightly, she was so happy. She jumps at Lulurun and wraps her arms around her.

“Syll!? Hold up,” Lulurun said.

“Ms. Lulurun… thank you,” Syll said.

The honest expression of emotion from Syll makes Lulurun happy but also worried.

“Hahaha,” Lulurun laughed, “thank you, Syll, I’m pretty grateful to you, too.”

“To me, Ms. Lulurun?” Syll asked.

“I get very calm when I talk to you, Syll, so I’m grateful for your healing effect,” Lulurun said.

“I see, if you don’t mind talking to me, then I’ll always be able to heal you, Ms. Lulurun!” Syll said.

“Hahaha, healing, honestly, it really is important… huh…?”

Killing intent is coming from behind her.

Rhynes was standing there with her arms crossed.

“Rhynes?” Lulurun said.

“Oh, Lady Rhynes!” Syll said. “Good evening!”

“I see, that’s a pretty passionate embrace, I didn’t even know you two were so… I didn’t know,” Rhynes said.

“Yes! This is just a (healing) relationship!” Syll said with a glittering smile.

“My eyes…!” Rhynes cried.

Syll’s too bright to look directly.

“I see, I’m in the way then, looks like there won’t be training today,” Rhynes said before she turned on her heels and left the store.

“This is a misunderstanding!” Lulurun yelled. “You’re definitely misunderstanding something, Rhynes! I’m sorry, Syll, please clean up after me!”

“Yes!” Syll cried. “Leave it to me!”

After Rhynes left in a foul mood, Lulurun rushed out of the store and chased after her.
