However, as the illusion was broken, the Illusory Evil Spirit’s true form seemed rather incompetent in front of Liu Ming.

Soon, Liu Ming slashed and killed the Illusory Evil Spirit.

After the Illusory Evil Spirit was killed, Liu Ming’s surroundings changed again.

After Liu Ming’s surroundings distorted, the scene around him seemed to have changed into another street.

Seemingly deep in thought, Liu Ming looked at the street in front of him and said, “So that’s what happened. Well, I can save plenty of time.”

If Liu Ming merely suspected that Tucker City was an illusion previously, he was now fully convinced that this place was a special illusory dungeon.

Illusory dungeons were considered an extremely special type of hidden dungeon.

In the official setting of God Domain, illusory dungeons were illusions generally formed by one or more special monsters or treasures that had intercepted segments of God Domain’s history under special conditions.

After a player entered an illusory dungeon, the system would even give the player some system prompts that were partial truths so as to confuse the players about their progress in the dungeon.

In order to conquer an illusory dungeon, a player would have to find the source of the illusion and kill it or destroy it.

Generally speaking, other than strictly following the system prompts, the illusions created by monsters could be conquered by killing the monsters with skill and strength.

On the other hand, players in the illusions formed by mysterious treasures could only strictly follow the quest flow.

According to God Domain’s official statement, illusory dungeons created by treasures would affect certain laws. If one did not act according to the laws, they would likely be kicked out of the illusion.

The dungeons created by monsters did not have such a problem. The players could naturally kill the monsters too. Of course, if one chose to kill the monsters, they had to have good enough reconnaissance abilities in addition to having impeccable strength.

Otherwise, one would only be wasting their time if they were to go through plenty of trouble, only to end up with no means to find the real monsters. They might as well just follow the quest process to conquer the dungeon, which would be much more relaxing.

Now that Liu Ming had entered an illusory dungeon created by monsters, which was also one of the dungeon types of a higher difficulty level, he would have to kill multiple monsters.

The Illusory Evil Spirit that Liu Ming had just killed was one of the monsters that generated the Tucker City illusion.

The number of monsters in the current Tucker City—or rather, the Kerri Desert—as well as how much the illusion strength had reduced after the Illusory Evil Spirit had been killed was still unknown.

After all, Liu Ming was now unsure if his mission to investigate the ancient city, Tucker City, was a false prompt or not. However, Liu Ming had now almost figured out the dungeon’s pattern. Hence, he did not have to bother about the quest prompt’s authenticity.

After adjusting his state, Liu Ming began searching the city for the monsters hidden inside illusions.

In a period of time, Liu Ming quickly killed eight monsters similar to the Illusionary Evil Spirit.

For every illusory monster that Liu Ming killed, he would be teleported to other corners of Tucker City, just like when he killed the Illusory Evil Spirit.

After Liu Ming killed the ninth monster, the scene in front of him changed once again. However, Liu Ming did not appear on an empty street this time, but a grand and ostentatious hall filled with boisterous chatter and laughter.

There were people with different sartorial styles chatting merrily in the hall.

If Liu Ming had not discovered that it was an illusion long ago, he would have thought that he had accidentally wandered into the venue of some sort of gathering.

After roughly estimating the number of people in the hall, Liu Ming instantly switched his weapon and charged into the crowd.

After a few rounds of fighting, Liu Ming had already gained some experience in finding the monsters hidden inside the illusion.

As Liu Ming rushed into the crowd and slashed the people with his sword, the people around him began yelling and shrieking in horror.

“Guards! Guards! A thug has broken in!”

“He killed people! He killed people!”

“Who are you? How dare you barge into the City Hall and commit murder!?!”

The group of people shouted for guards, panicked, and questioned Liu Ming austerely. Some even whipped out their personal weapons and crowded around Liu Ming. They reacted like how people would when they encountered thugs that suddenly barged in.

Even at this moment, Liu Ming could hear the sound of footsteps gradually getting louder behind him. Guards really were coming over!

After hearing the footsteps, ordinary players would definitely turn around and deal with the guards rushing over.

After all, the average player wouldn’t be able to ignore them directly and continue searching for the Boss-level monster hidden among the crowd even though they knew that the guards were just illusions and that it was impossible to exterminate them.

However, Liu Ming was different. After observing the people’s expressions, Liu Ming soon found a few targets and charged towards one of them.

The reason was none other than the fact that, although these illusory people’s expressions and movements were vivid and similar to that of real people, one would actually be able to tell that their expressions and movements were rather unsynchronized upon careful inspection. In contrast, a certain monster behaved exactly the same as real people.

It was the same for the Illusory Evil Spirit Liu Ming had killed previously. Illusory monsters that could generate illusions were extremely intelligent and basically indistinguishable from the players. However, the corpses created by the monsters and the humans generated by the illusions would reveal some flaws in their movements.

After all, the humans transformed from corpses and phantoms were actually puppets manipulated by the monsters.

No matter how impressive the monsters’ intelligence might be, it would be difficult for them to maintain their intelligence after siphoning out a certain portion of it. Hence, the corpses and phantoms definitely would not have the same level of intelligence.

Hence, Liu Ming managed to verify the authenticity of most people in front of him. Thus, narrowing down the possible targets to a few people.

Liu Ming did not have the time to confirm which of the remaining few were the real monsters. However, Liu Ming had always been lucky after entering God Domain; today was no exception.

Just as Liu Ming slashed his first target with a sword—a middle-aged man dressed like a gentleman—and dealt him massive damage, the illusion immediately changed again.

The people who were initially crying or angrily cursing disappeared. Liu Ming was left alone with the person he slashed.

However, at this moment, the middle-aged gentleman had already turned into a tall and large demon—which had pitch-black goat horns and a hideous appearance.
