MMORPG : Ancient WORLD

249 Chaotic Battle

While the Human Empire was completely focused on shutting down the demon portals, sending all their best soldiers to be gathered near the dark barrier in case they failed and the portals stabilized, and the true demon army started the invasion.

The demon had a completely different plan, as they knew they never stood a chance in the constant front clash against the humans and would get slaughtered in a matter of days after the portal collapsed.

In the second clash, the human army will win after a grueling and long fight, and the demon portal will be destroyed, but they will have little time to celebrate after seeing the demon commander with the remainder of his army teleport to somewhere unknown.

The human army who had just saved their continent from what they believed a monumental disaster would start an army-wide celebration caring less about where the demons went.

The grand army commander and other individuals of power, like Price Aphariaen, will start informing the individuals of authority above them about their victory, and while doing so, they will quickly learn about their inability to contact the three Royal cities.

After being unable to contact any of the three royal cities, the higher-ups will swiftly try to teleport to them, but to their horror, even that didn't work, confirming their foreboding feeling something was wrong.

The players will be the first to learn about the situation of the three cities after seeing the commotion on the game forums about the appearance of the three portals in the heart of each of the Royal capital of the Three Kingdoms from which the demons were pouring out.

The players will quickly inform the human army, and in turn, the higher-ups will swiftly teleport the strongest of their warriors to the nearest city of the Ice Kingdom while the large section of the gathered army will march behind them.

The three barely protected Royal cities will get recked under the onslaught of the demon, and 'Stormward' the capital of Ice Kingdom, will experience the worst fate as the demon commander, with his half-destroyed demon fortress, will attack the city himself.

Millions of inhabitants will die, and more than half of their Nobles and Royal family member will get slaughtered before the help arrives, but by that time, the demon commander and most of the demons would have already retreated.

The Gold Kingdom will experience a smiler yet less gruesome fate while only the Darkness Kingdom will experience the least losses only, thanks to their trump card, the White Death Army intervening and slaughtering the invading demons in time.

Alex had planned to use his own organization to defenced the capital city of Stormward and keep the demons busy until the reinforcements arrived to gain the best benefits.

But with the untimely invasion, Alex didn't have that privilege now, so he was taking help from the three guilds he had established connections with.

------------------

Alex was currently on a call with Vlad, Hecate, and Guild leader Aster, discussing his offer with them.

"So, Your organization wants our guilds to withdraw our members from the army and wait inside the capital city of Stormward?" Vlad questioned, repeating the offer he just heard.

"Yep, and you have ten or so minutes before the army starts their march, so decide quickly," Alex replied.

"Sir Aeon, Can you tell me what my guild need to do in the capital city Quivira," Hecate asked, more interested in knowing what the organization wanted from her guild.

Alex had asked Hecate to move her guild members to the Gold Kingdom capital city while asking Vlad and Hecate to take their member to the Stormward, leaving the capital city Siniawis alone.

"The demons will be invading the three capital cities in a few hours, and I don't need to tell you what your guild should do," Alex said, dropping the most unexpected news to the three guild leaders.

The call went silent as all three guild leaders questioned the authenticity of Alex's words, but they didn't ask him, and after a few seconds, Aster was the one to break the silence.

"I presume our guild needs to pay some form of compensation for this great opportunity," Aster asked.

"50% of the Honor points your guilds will receive for your valiant effort," Alex said before closing the call.

Alex involved the guilds and did not directly tell the Emperor or other individuals of power because it would have only brought him trouble with him needing to prove how he got the information.

'Now, I just need to inform Lady Telyssa about the disturbance in time, and then I can peacefully start raiding the various demon hideouts to earn Ruler points and increase my Ruler Authority,' Alex thought as he walked toward the front of the assembled army.

------------------

After a couple of minutes, Alex watched as thousands of players left the area, confusion clear on their faces, and minutes after, the army once again entered the barrier and started its march toward the two demon portals in the distance.

The landscape was transformed as a sea of soldiers covered the land, and war machines filled the sky, forming an awe-inspiring spectacle of determination and strength as they marched forward.

Kerubiel, despite the toll of his previous confrontation with the demon commander, remained steadfast at the forefront of the advancing human army, as did the various other captains.

While Their physical condition was less than peak, their determination burned brighter than ever to fight for their land and people.

After close to an hour of march, the demon horde came into clearer view, the sea of demonic creatures stretched out before them, a nightmarish tableau of twisted forms.

The demon commander towering figure covered in dark aura stood at the forefront, near the mostly perfect-looking war fortress, his eyes gleaming maliciously as he scanned the incoming army.

The initial moments of the battle were marked by an eerie stillness, a tense standoff between the two opposing forces before the command was given, and the warships number close to thirty organized in a crescent formation started charing their weapons.

The sky before the army was filled with a deafening roar as six White Doomsday warships released the first volley of attacks, and a symphony of destruction followed as the other warships also unleashed a relentless bombardment toward the demons.

As everyone expected, all attacks were blocked by the invisible barrier of the war fortress separating the two armies.

The barrier shimmered and rippled under the onslaught, cracks forming and spreading like spiderwebs, but it slowly returned to its normal invisible condition as if nothing had happened.

After a few minutes, the barrier was completely visible, with permanent cracks filling its surface, which increased with each volley of attacks.

The demon commander great sword pulsed with dark energy as he prepared to engage in battle while the fortress and demon army also roared to life, ready to throw themself at the humans the moment that barrier broke.

It took only minutes for the barrier to get destroyed, and the moment it vanished, both armies unleashed their long-range attacks, covering the sky in various elements while landing in death and despair.

Thousands of soldiers on both sides died in an instant, while the demon commander disappeared from his position, only to reappear before one of the White Doomsday warships.

His sword sliced through the air, sending forth a thin, concentrated energy slash that sliced through the sky with blinding speed and, a moment later, tore through the airship, slicing it cleanly in two.

The massive vessel erupted in flames, debris raining down in a fiery cascade, while the shockwave from the attack sent nearby warships tumbling through the sky, their crews scrambling to regain control.

The demon commander moved to the next ship and took out multiple magic scrolls while the captains moved to engage with the demon commander, and the human army charged forward, their weapons raised, ready to rip apart the demon.

The demons were clearly taking a defensive approach as they moved less and created one barrier after the other, not rushing into a head-on battle.

A large section of the army and warships focussed on the dreadnought of a fortress that rained down destruction and death on the human army with its tens of pulse canon claiming hundreds of lives with each passing second.

The battlefield became a chaotic scene of carnage and destruction as the battle against the demons began. Spells and weapons collided, filling the air with blinding lightning and thunderous booms.

The ground shook from the impact of the battle, and the cries of the fallen mixed with the roars of demons and the determined shouts of human soldiers.

The humans were singularly focused on obliterating the portals, their determination unwavering even in the face of an unrelenting barrage of attacks. They were resolute, willing to forge ahead regardless of the ceaseless onslaught, all in pursuit of their ultimate objective.

Alex slowly made his way toward demons, standing among one of the two regiments consisting of manly players with Titan's Vanguard regiment members in the front for defense as they pushed to flank the demons from both sides.
