"General, the camp has been fully built and our men have already begun preparations for the battle. Shall we begin sending scouting parties in preparation?"

"Captain Balton, this is a simple war, why must you expend our precious elite scout troops on such an insignificant nation? Save them for the next campaign. I have no doubt that the Golde kingdom will expend all of their forces just to fight a meaningless war of attrition." The general smirked, rotating his chair toward the entrance of the tent.

The General was a portly man with long facial hair, sporting heavily decorated grey military uniform. Aside from that, he had an immaculate breastplate underneath his coat layer. All in all, he seemed like a general. In general, this is what a person would typically imagine of a general.

"Sir, is it really a good idea to not use scouts? This is hostile territory…"

"Enough! Do not doubt my orders!" The General got off of his chair with a burst of energy and pointed his finger at captain Balton with a menacing gaze. As a General with much pride and arrogance, he hated being doubted by his subordinates. If it were not for the captain's previous military achievements, the General would have already executed him.

This is a cruel and efficient army.

"But sir…" The Captain knelt down.

"Sir what?!" Do you not understand already? This war is as good as won, do not waste the scouts."

Suddenly, the nature of the situation changed. The wind began blowing eerily without warning, paired with a strange sense of miasma growing around the captain. A strange hum could be heard by the general, troubling him. It felt rather spontaneous too. One second he was dealing with an insubordinate officer and now he felt like he had just entered a graveyard.

"Captain Balton, do you feel that?" The general shivered and backed himself on his chair, falling back onto it.

"Hear what? I do not hear anything but your voice. Or perhaps you are referring to the strange miasma and aura of death I am exhibiting right now?" Captain Balton suddenly displayed a calm face, chilling to see and malicious in nature.

"!!!" The general immediately drew his rapier, standing back up in a hurried manner.

"Who are you?! You aren't Balton! State your intentions, spy!" The general immediately assumed it was a spy from Golde or from another enemy kingdom. But he did not know that this wasn't the case. They are not spies in a sense, they only came here to kill. Could that really be considered as being a spy?

The General did not know of the homunculi's existence, not even their activities' fruits. Every murder was committed so carefully and methodically that even an expert investigator could only conclude that it would have been internal conflict, suicide, or accident. However, there were not many cases where the victims were ever discovered. The homunculi always replaced them.

SHHIIICK

With a single stroke of the sword, a neck was cut open and a man fell to the ground, lifeless. It was like all of the other murders, a simple and targeted assassination. The General did not even know that he had died, it was simply too fast for his mind to comprehend.

"Lambda, you have executed the task below expectations. The General should have been killed by strangling or by breaking his neck. Your method has resulted in litres of blood on the floor." A homunculus dressed in knight's armour suddenly appeared from the entrance. The homunculus spoke rather plainly, but their intentions were clear. The task was not done well enough.

"The general already drew his weapon, logic dictates that I must slay him with my own sword so as to not receive any damage to my exterior plating. This was a directive given by master." Lambda countered.

"Then this was a competence issue. I will report it to Alpha and suggest supplementary combat training sessions for you." The knight homunculus announced.

"Moving on… Beta will be taking the general's identity for now. Be prepared for the signal. Tonight, we will be replacing 90% of the generals in the Estelle army, so please be ready for the aftermath. The death march is estimated to begin within 6 days."

"I acknowledge."

"Good."

"Now clean up the mess, this much is on you." The knight looked over to the puddle of blood with a hint of annoyance. Although wearing a helmet, their eyes could still express emotions.

"Also, make sure to kill any unexpected visitors and report any of these kills to Beta for replacement procedures. There must not be any unexplained deaths registering in the Estelle army's registers. Alpha has stressed that our existence must be kept hidden for the sake of master's grand plan." The knight very slowly explained with great emphasis on the reporting aspect. If every corpse was replaced, then there would be no investigations for murder and kidnapping.

Meanwhile, Alpha was very busy.

"I had to leave master's side because of this mission's scale. This is much to irritating for me." Alpha bitterly spoke to herself as she walked through a pathway in the middle of a camp.

Deep within enemy territory, Alpha had her own command station. While not exactly fit for an army, she was confident with just this garrison, she could eliminate an entire battalion. So long as she had the proper communication arrays, she would have access to all the information she needed to progress Tanya's ambitions in the Estelle kingdom.

"Report." She turned to a homunculus who was guarding a large tent.

"All teams have been met with success in stage 1. No casualties or damages have been recorded so far. No other comments." The guard responded.

"Is there any word of master?" Alpha asked nervously. Although she was an artificial life form, her devotion was unmatched. All homunculi were obsessed with Tanya, but Alpha was the most. She needed to know how Tanya was doing at all times. If something were to happen, Alpha would immediately travel back and bring the entire force to help Tanya in whatever trouble she may be having. But right now, there seemed to be nothing wrong.

"Tanya has castrated two young noblemen that tried to assault mistress Yuri. The TVFC has already quietly disposed of them afterwards. That is all the latest news of master." The guard calmly responded. Even with the calmness of the voice, the guard still seemed rather tense when mentioning the young noblemen.

"How dare they lay their hands on one of our master's women! They have great fortune to be able to have died relatively peacefully."

"Does commander Alpha have any more queries regarding master?"

"No, that will be all for today, thank you." Alpha left calmly.

In a world where these fanatical beings exist, how could Tanya lose face? Anyone that dares to do anything to Tanya or her lovers would no doubt be tortured and killed without mercy. So much as a dirty perverted look would warrant immediate castration!

Somewhere in the TVFC meeting room:

"It is evening prayer time. Please gather and pray to Tanya for blessings in the way of love."
