Masked Girl and Her Prince

94 Chapter 94: A Change Of Hear

Hazel sighed after they finished explaining. This was going to be a huge mess to clean up but then again, if it was her, she was sure she would have snapped those bastard's necks.

Hazel looked at the poor crying girl who was clutching Usui's shirt as a sense of comfort. Her eyes shifted to Usui and for a second, she was shocked to see the murderous gaze in his warm eyes. This was her first time seeing him act differently from regular.

Usui gritted his teeth when he looked at the girl in his arms. He couldn't believe something horrifying happened to the girl whom they protected and cared for deeply. She was too innocent to face the ugly truth of this world and yet, she had to undergo it and worse was when she didn't have them around her.

He could imagine the despair she went through last night. He only hoped that it didn't change her too much.

Usui didn't agree on their way of action. They should have just killed them but yes, it didn't calm him down when he realized that they wouldn't open their eyes again.

He glanced at Zelal who nodded his head. Even though they had handed out their punishment, Usui was sure the matter would be buried within those halls. He had to inform Principal Brent about the wonderful deeds his son made in the academy.

Usui didn't want to imagine how many fell in that vile dog traps. He remembered hearing a rumour back when he was present but he shrugged it off as he thought it was just a rumour. But, he remembered warning that vile dog, to keep his eyes to himself when he noticed him lecherously watching Stella.

After God knows how long, Loki finally straightened up with his fists clenched tightly. He looked straight at those arms around her and gritted his teeth. A look of annoyance flashed through his eyes.

'She didn't even look at him once'

Usui glanced at them gratefully as he bowed his head and said, "Thank you for saving her."

Loki scoffed, "We would have helped out to anyone in that situation. We don't need your thanks."

Ren and Reyna raised their eyebrows at Loki's words.

'They would have helped anyone?' Oh please! The least they would do is help the person thwart the insects away and let her be. They wouldn't bring back the person here much less hug her throughout their return to the academy.'

But they remained silent, as they decided to continue to watch from the sidelines.

"Still, I have to thank you for helping her. She is important to us."

Loki squinted his eyes while Hazel stepped back a little in shock. She never thought she would see a gentle smile on his face and a look that was full of doting directed to another girl.

Stella whined, "Zeke"

Loki's face darkened at the offensive reminder of how she mistakenly took him as this doofus.

'How could she compare me to this arrogant fool?'

Usui tightened her hold around her before glancing down at her with his eyes softened.

"It's okay...we will take care of everything here."

"But-"

Usui shook his head and silenced her with his action.

His actions sent Hazel's heart into disarray. She didn't know he could shower such gentle actions towards another girl. She didn't know some other girl occupied his heart. She knitted her eyebrows and looked at the girl.

Silver hair... golden eyes... snowy white skin... delicate body... she had everything. Hazel had to agree that she was stunning, stunning enough to garner Usui's attention. She pursed her lips when she thought how this girl shared a deep connection with him.

Usui glanced at them and declared, "Looks like I wouldn't be joining you guys for the morning assembly and I will take care of her. Thanks."

He didn't wait for them to respond before he proceeded to leave with Stella tucked in his embrace and Zelal leading their way out.

"Well...I guess we need to inform Principal Vernon. Things would start turning nasty soon."

Zeno calmly stated making everyone nod except Loki and Hazel who were lost in their thoughts.

Loki wore an ugly expression on his face as he remembered how she was being hugged by that fool.

While Hazel looked lost gazing at the direction they disappeared. She didn't understand why she was being affected by the new girl's arrival. But her eyes still looked at the entrance through which they left.

She pursed her lips and scoffed,

'Why should I care about him? It's good that he had a change of heart. '

It was true when one said it was easy to fall out of love. She was glad it happened before she fell for him. She was glad that her heart which had begun to waver from his actions soon regained its composure.

She sighed but soon a determined look flashed in her eyes.

'No one stays with one person forever..... no one keeps the promises they make.'

It was simple but true for her. She remembered the promises he made to her, those simple innocent promises he made but yet he broke them that night. By leaving her alone for the rest of her life.

He promised he would be there for her, to watch her, to protect her, and to shower her with love yet, he isn't here.

He had gone.

She should have known not to expect anything from anyone.

Hazel pursed her lips as she exhaled. She turned to the rest and smiled, "Let's hurry to the assembly hall. We have to inform Principal Vernon quickly."
