Marvel: Starting From The Bottom

Chapter 91 - Selene the Immortal

Dealt with Hand and snatched Sakki— which I have yet to test.

Erased Hydra and found the monoliths.

Killed Hive, mimicked his powers and got a planet under me.

That's all I did after taking the Sentry serum.

I expected to find myself struggling with the Void but the Void inside me— was totally different from Bob's one. Mine was bored— his was suicidal.

It also made me go through some past trauma and settle some past feelings.

"Past trauma, huh?"

Some feelings are not easy to settle.

There is still one more thing left before I deal with those issues. So, it's better to focus on my plans first.

"I knew that I would find you here."

"Yeah. I was bored… and kinda tired." I smiled as Joel sat next to me, passing a soda to me.

We sat at our favourite location that we discovered when we were kids. It was a nice, calm and beautiful place— with trees surrounding the area, preventing pollution.

"So, how are you doing?"

My question made him shrug.

"Not sure." He said. "Trying to figure out what I want to do for the future."

He looked at me and smiled. "What about you? Your future is going to be even longer than mine."

I didn't say that I was immortal but I did say that I would live for a few centuries. And a little about my other powers like super strength, speed and senses.

As for the rest? He doesn't know and neither does he need to know. I said that my brain works faster than most humans but didn't reveal anything about my psychic powers.

"Kind of." I sighed. "But life won't be easy. Humans are jealous species. If they figure out our powers, we will be turned into lab rats."

Not that they are capable of doing so, but it will be a major inconvenience to have the entire world at your tail.

"So, what have you planned… Like you cannot keep your long lifespan hidden forever." He asked, worried about me.

"I will figure something out."

I already have… but it will take a while before I can use that plan.

"So, have you considered the proposal?" I asked, making him sigh.

"I will need some time."

"Take as much as you want. It will make a major impact in your future."

"So, what next?" He asked, making me laugh.

"You know exactly what's next."

This made his eyes nearly pop out of his sockets as a massive grin appeared on his face.

"Really?!? When?" He asked, unable to contain his shock and happiness.

I looked at the sky and smiled. "Soon. I have a business to deal with after that… I will work on it."

After all, the longer I wait— the lower the chances of success.

"It's a pŀėȧsurė to meet you again, princess."

My way of addressing made Amara frown— something that didn't escape Selene's eyes.

"I told you to call me Amara." She didn't seem pleased at all.

Giving her a slight bow, I apologised— which only added to her annoyance.

"Forgive me."

This made her stomp her feet and leave the room.

"You are annoying!"

As she dashed off the room, Selene tried to stop her— but was stopped by me.

"You planned this, didn't you?" She asked, shaking her head.

I didn't answer and instead gave her a smile— which was more than enough to answer her questions.

"Anyways… I am here for one last aid." I looked at her seriously. "After that, you will be given the immortality as promised. You wouldn't require to feed on the life force of others, but you can still be killed. It will be a form of biological immortality… as long as you have even a single limb that isn't destroyed— you can revive."

She smiled.

"But you will not be invulnerable, remember that." I warned but she kept her smile.

"That's more than I asked for." She said and I nodded.

"Now, give me your hand."

She didn't hesitate or question my reasons and immediately extended her arm towards me.

Taking her hand in mine, I smiled.

"Get ready." With that both of us vanished.

.

.

And appeared in the middle of the sky— flying.

She seemed amazed at my display of power.

"You have grown." She said, separating our hands and flying on her own.

She didn't possess flight but had more than enough spells that could provide the same ability.

"That I have."

She giggled.

She might be one of the most dangerous women in all of Marvel with knowledge and experience far greater than mine— but in the end she was just a woman trying to stay alive and happy.

She grew up being treated as a goddess, and it was not her fault to have a superiority complex. And while it didn't give her an excuse to do the things that she does— it did make a major impact in her life.

"So… you want to attack them?" She asked and I nodded.

We were quite similar— two beings with unfathomable power and a superiority complex.

So, I had no right to lecture her about anything that she did.

After all, I would have done the same.

"Gideon, Saul, Nicodemus are in the main hall." I said, scouting the area with my X-ray vision. "While the other lower members are scattered around the base."

"And you want me to… immobilise them." She said and I nodded. "Alright."

Chanting one of her spells, she released a black mist that surrounded the entire place.

"It's done." She said as both of us descended.

As we got down, we noticed most of the members laying on the floor while the rest were either at the pool table or in the couch.

"How are you going to bring them with you?" She asked, unsure if I could teleport everyone.

I smiled and snapped my fingers— bringing every single person to one of my many bases.

Selene was shocked but ended up sighing instead of asking. "You keep surprising me every time, Marcellus."

She looked at the base and shook her head. "I won't ask you what your plans with the Externals are as I know it will be far worse than I have envisioned."

I went towards one of the shelves and shrugged. "Maybe."

Opening the drawer, I took out a white box with a massive Numpad.

I placed in over the table and entered the password— simultaneously moving the externals to a spot with my telekinesis.

"How did– Never mind." Selene sighed and focused her vision on the box. "What is in this?"

As the box opened, it revealed a yellowish serum enclosed in a small syringe.

"The serum of your immortality." I said which caused her to go wide-eyed.

She rushed towards it— taking it in her palm.

"Do you want to take it now?"

"Yes!"

No hesitation.

"Very well, but let me warn that the initial pain will be excruciating." I warned but she didn't seem to care.

"I have been alive for far longer than you can imagine, Marcellus." She smiled… a smile that was not pleasant in the least. "Trust me when I say… I know pain."

I was unsure of how to feel. But I knew it was best to remain quiet.

"If that's what you want." I looked at her. "You might want to break things… So do you want me to bind you?"

She denied. "I can stand it."

I shrugged and instructed her to extend her arm and as she did— I injected the newly developed serum extracted from James.

It provided nothing more than his biological immortality… but it was twice as good as his.

After ten seconds of taking the serum, Selene clenched her fists and bit her lips as blood began to ooze out of her pores— soaking her in red.

Her skin started to tear and clothes started melting but to my utter shock— her smile didn't leave her face.

She was covered in blood, her clothes melted and skin tattering— but her smile remained.

"You weren't lying." She mumbled which gave me another shock.

Neither me nor James had been able to stay sane during our serum enhancements, but here was Selene… smiling through the pain.

After what felt like an eternity of me staring at her— she sighed.

Blood stopped oozing out as her skin started to heal. Her fists relaxed and within minutes, she stood in front of me… with skin clearer and smoother than before— with a smile that could pierce the heart of Hercules.

"You… succeeded." I mumbled, still amazed by her ability to withstand pain and a bit overwhelmed by her standing nȧkėd in front of me.

"Yes." She smiled and walked towards me. "I did."

She closed her eyes and pushed her cherry lips towards mine.

I could have moved away with ease, I saw everything in slow motion but I still couldn't move.

I was unsure if it was her casting a spell to stop me, or my body refusing to move on its own.

But despite my efforts, our lips connected and I remembered the taste that I felt at our first meeting— at the Hellfire ball.

But after a little, I had to push her away as I knew it was something that would throw me into a paradox.

She seemed surprised but I knew it would only cause trouble for me…

It already did.

"Sorry." I said, walking towards the box and putting it back into the shelf.

"Is something wrong?" She asked, confused by my reaction.

It was wrong… But I couldn't bring myself to say that out loud. Shitty move but I had reasons… Massive ones.

"No." I sighed.

She was sceptical but didn't pursue it further and instead released a sigh of her own.

"Thank you for keeping your part of the deal, Marcel." She smiled. "I should be leaving, Amara is waiting for me."

"I can help you get there." I suggested but she declined.

"It's alright." She smiled. "You are not the only one with tricks up your sleeves."

Saying that, she opened a portal— directly connected to her castle.

"I am still part of the Hellfire club as well as the Order." She stared into my eyes. "If you need anything, you know how to reach me."

Saying that, she left the room— leaving me with my frustration.

I know she likes me. In her mind, I am a mystery… an anomaly.

A sigma male.

She was attracted to mysterious men and not necessarily strong or good looking ones.

All of her marriages were mostly for the convenience of growing her power and kingdom. Her love life was quite tragic… and I was not sure if I wanted to be a part of it.

My feelings for Peggy were already problematic enough… and adding Selene to that list of problems will make my brain go haywire.

No…

I am not going to think about any of this.

First, I need to sort out my feelings for Peggy and then move accordingly.

"Arrgh! Fuck it! First, I shall meet Peggy."

Marvel Facts: (1) TVA is a joke, they spent thousands of years after Kang just for him to swat them away like flies. Later he grew bored of his conquest and decided to help the TVA as Immortus.

(2) Galacta is the daughter of Galactus who has more rule 34 about her than actual comic appearances. And let's just say that she will never make an appearance again because of a certain point that the writers wrote about her and Galactus.. What did they write? That's for you to research. 🙂]]
