Marvel: Starting From The Bottom

"Sector four and sector six is cleared." Marc's voice came from the comm. 

"Good. So that leave's Betty's sector." I replied.

They have done quite well in taking care of the HYDRA soldiers. This should be enough to draw their attention. 

"Contact me if you notice anything strange."

"Alright." With that, he disconnected. 

HYDRA right now is weak. It is working secretly under Zola who still hasn't succeeded in creating a way to sustain his life. He will transfer his mind into a robotic body after his death. So, I will have to remove him before he succeeds in creating such a system.

My main goal is to destroy the Monolith or at least have a portion of it brought under my control. The Kree were extremely intelligent to be able to make such a thing but what they made can eventually destroy the world. The monolith can be used to access dimensions through time and space, so I am quite tempted to get it under me instead of destroying it. Destroying such a creation would be extremely foolish. 

I walked towards the board with maps pasted in every part of it. 

There were places marked on the maps that 'might'... 'emphasis on Might' have pieces of the monolith. 

"*Sigh* This is the first time… after coming to this world, that I am in a pinch." 

How am I in a pinch? I bȧrėly know anything about the monolith. All I know is that Hive was sent to Maveth through the help of monolith. But did they do it using all the pieces or a particular one… I am not sure. 

Hell! I don't even know if there are any more than three pieces of the monolith. The ones that I know are the Space, Time, and Creation monolith.

And I remember reading somewhere that the monolith that was used to send Hive to Maveth was not one of those three. It was a similar monolith but not exactly the same.

So that brings me to another question.

"Just how many kinds of monoliths are there?" The Kree created the original monolith but then there is more than one monolith.

"Arrgh! This is so confusing!" 

I am trying to get rid of HYDRA as they are the fools that are planning world domination. The original HYDRA cultists want to bring Hive back. These 'world-dominating' pests will be annoying later so I am getting rid of them now.

"And they are a part of HYDRA… despite being quite foolish." So, this should bring the attention of those HYDRA cultists towards the 'cleaning' that is taking place. 

"That's the only way for me to find the location of the monolith… by drawing the attention of those cultists."

It's hitting two birds with one stone… but with a major risk of hitting a lion in a bird's place. 

I would have loved to wait before messing with the monolith. But my presence already sped up a lot of things and especially the actions that I took made things take a turn for the worse. 

I will think about it later. Now, I need to check on my mother and Shade.

It's been nearly ten years since Marcellus has changed. He might think that I haven't noticed, but it is impossible for a mother to not notice that changes that occur in their children's lives. 

Marcel has always been a brilliant kid but he was shy... timid, and quite an introvert. But now he is a public figure. He's no longer the shy little kid that hid behind my skirt, he is a grown man now.

The changes within him make me proud… yet sad. But, I could never hope to bring his hopes and dreams down. What he doesn't know is that I never wanted such riches, all I wanted was to live a happy life with my son. 

But it doesn't matter, because unlike those children who leave their parents once they become successful, Marcel has always been with me… And without his efforts, I would have never been able to live in such a lavish mansion, neither would have I been able to help those children. 

"Are you hungry, Marcel?" Sometimes I forget that he is 27 because of his antics. He might be a very serious person in front of the public, but at home… he still acts like a child.

I sighed as I saw him laying with Felix on the floor. 

I don't like the name Shade, so I call him Felix. It sounds much better.  

Marcel picked up Felix and nodded vigorously. "I am." 

"Well then go and wash your hands. I made pasta." His smile grew wide enough to cover his whole face.

"Alright." He rushed towards the kitchen with Felix on top of his head. 

"Jeez, Marcellus slow down. You might look young but you are about to turn 30 soon."

He didn't listen and rushed towards the bathroom.

"I will have to do something about you, Shade. Once you grow up, it will be quite difficult to keep your species a secret." His fur was already getting darker with each passing day. And soon he will grow into a full-fledged panther.

*Meow* 

"Yeah, keep meowing, that will reduce the suspicion." I am glad that this panther's meows. Otherwise, it would have been quite difficult to take care of him. 

But my mother has grown quite attached to him and she would definitely feel sad if I take him away from her. 

"So many damn things to worry about!" I splashed some water over my face as I looked at the mirror. 

My face was the same as it was three years ago. Not even the slightest bit of change had occurred. 

I have to take care of HYDRA, think of a way to keep Shade's species a secret, deal with Sinister who I need to meet tomorrow… and now I need to think of a way to avoid suspicion about my looks and age. 

I will get some sort of mental illness at this rate.

I picked up Shade. "You have nothing to worry about… all the worrying falls upon me. *Sigh* I haven't been able to access my spatial powers either." I hope that Infinity didn't scam me. And I am quite glad that she cannot always look into my matters… thanks to some unknown force. But looking at Shade, I thought of something.

Should I make Shade stronger? 

"Do you want to be strong, little one?" If I didn't know any better, I would have truly believed that he just smiled.

*Meow*

"Hmm… Maybe once you are fully grown, I can give you the same claws as mine." I drew out my claws which made his eyes glitter.

*Purr* *Purr*

"*Chuckle* Yeah, I know that they are shiny." The purplish glow attracted him. Most feral cats do not meow but this little guy does and I love him because of that.

*Growl*

"Haha, I know you are hungry, I am too. So, let's not keep our mother waiting."

I closed the tap before walking out of the bathroom.

[A/N: Marcellus knows about Hive and what happened to him. But he doesn't know much about the monolith, all his info about the monolith revolves around Hive. So most of the other things are unknown to him. This is the first time that he is unsure of something… that he doesn't know something about Marvel. This might be the first time that he makes a minor mistake.
