Su Jiaojiao’s ankle was internally injured. As there was no external injury, the medicine on it was washed away after the shower.

After a sprain, cold compresses[1] had to be applied within 24 hours. It happens to be early September, so it was slightly cool at night. Su Jiaojiao took off the gauze, raised her feet high, and waited for Song Qinghan to come over with a cool and wet towel.

Song Qinghan got the water from the Su family’s well just now, so it was cold and icy.

Song Qinghan came over to apply the cold compress as if he was doing something important. When his eyes made contact with the red and swollen area, a trace of miserableness flashed in his eyes.

“Hiss——” Su Jiaojiao sucked in a breath as soon as the towel touched her.

The temperature of the red and swollen ankle was higher than that of the other parts of her body. When the towel was suddenly put on it, she felt a little uncomfortable, and some dull pain appeared.

Song Qinghan thought that he had used too much and quickly let go. He asked nervously, “Did I hurt you?”

Su Jiaojiao laughed, “No, it’s just a bit too cold. Keep going.”

With that, she kicked him in the stomach with her other foot lightly.

Song Qinghan then applied the cold compress again.

This time, there was still some discomfort, but Su Jiaojiao resisted and did not move. After a while, Song Qinghan wet the towel again.

After doing that three times in total, he stopped, holding her foot to apply the medicine.

Just when he was holding her foot in his hand to apply the medicine, Su Jiaojiao suddenly narrowed his mouth and said aggrievedly: “It hurts…”

Song Qinghan’s heart stung under the dim light. He raised his head and glanced at her, then said with a guilty conscience: “How about you do it by yourself? I’m so clumsy I’m afraid I’ll hurt you again.”

Su Jiaojiao shook his head. Song Qinghan was about to continue to persuade her, but he heard her soft and delicate voice say as if she was whispering: “When I was hurt, even Dabao[2] tried to help for me. How about you?”

Song Qinghan had been in a low mood as he felt that his family had brought a lot of trouble to Su Jiaojiao. If it weren’t for his family, why would Su Jiaojiao have her current reputation? If it weren’t for him, such a person who was coddled all her life…how would she be hurt?

Sun Fang was furious when her daughter was injured, so she said that she hadn’t been willing to hurt her girl a little bit before in a fit of anger to one-up Song Qinghan.

Because of this, his mind was full of anxiety. What else could he think about?

As a result, this sudden sentence made his heart skip a beat and he looked up at her in a daze.

He saw a girl who was still a little childish, with a small smile and clear embarrassment in her eyes. Even if the lights were dim, he could still feel the warmth on Su Jiaojiao’s cheeks.

Song Qinghan warmed his heart and said softly, “I will help you feel better too.”

As he said, he held up the foot earnestly and blew on it softly.

Su Jiaojiao never knew that the foot had a sensitive spot. Her waist trembled and she almost made a strange noise on accident. Fortunately, she bit her lip so she didn’t cry out, but her breathing sped up. [3]

Just a little bit later,Su Jiaojiao saw Song Qinghan curl his lips and smile, “Should I apply the medicine now?”

“It’s not enough! continue!” Su Jiaojiao said those words with a pouty face.

Just now, she was confused by both Son Qinghan’s handsomeness and the weird feelings of her body, so she did not grasp the opportunity at all.

“Okay.” Song Qinghan smiled dotingly and continued blowing on her ankle.

Su Jiaojiao gritted her teeth and pretended to lift her foot accidentally.

Her red and swollen ankle just hapened to touch Song Qinghan’s lip, which left soft and warm.

Su Jiaojiao thought, Success! Give me likes!

Song Qinghan was also startled for a moment. The touch of Su Jiaojiao’s ankle on his lips was fleeting, but it left him stunned for several seconds. Then his face blushed, and he didn’t dare to speak. He held a cotton swab and medicine silently, as he applied medicine to her feet.

The air seemed to thicken at this moment, making people feel warm and fuzzy.

Su Jiaojiao sneaked a glance at him out of the corner of her eye. When she saw that he was not angry, she let loose a breath she didn’t know she’d been holding. But halfway through calming herself down, the matchmaker system who had covered its eyes buzzed: [Host, this task isn’t complete yet!]

It had been too afraid to look, but who knew… sheit didn’t succeed.

Su Jiaojiao froze, “Say that again?”

The matchmaker system trembled, and tried to explain weakly: [The task is to let the husband kiss your ankle, not to let your ankle accidentally bump into it. The host’s husband has to take the initiative…]

Su Jiaojiao: “…”

She glanced at her ankle, which had been coated with medicine, and thought hesitantly: Is it okay to say something even more shameless now?

The matchmaker system dared not say anything.

Su Jiaojiao looked at Song Qinghan’s serious expression and covered her face. She blamed herself for being shy and not daring to speak directly, so she played with caution. She would succeed next time!

Fortunately, the mission time limit is 48 hours, and there will be another chance tomorrow night!

She could do it!

Armos D. Platypus: I have decided to use footnotes instead of directly writing my thoughts down. Let me know if I should keep this or revert it. This took me 2 weeks to think of, which is why there have been so few chappies lately. (Actually it was finals but we’re not gonna talk about that since it was over Monday.)

[1] If you’re like me, yes it is a thing. I did not know this until today.

[2] In case you’re confused (because I sure was), Dabao is Su Jiaojiao’s eldest nephew.

[3] Is this some kind of a joke I’m too young to understand?
