I haven't wanted to write this closing speech for a long time, but I still feel that I need to give everyone an explanation.

I just took a look and found that Maoshan Ghost King started updating in May 2018 and ended in August this year. It took four years and three months and a total of 8.72 million words were written.

This is the longest article Youlong has written since he wrote the book. It is almost as long as the total of the corpse exorcist Taoist priest and the corpse exorcist family.

A lot has happened in the past four years. When I first started writing this book, there was no epidemic yet and the whole world was peaceful.

It has been more than ten years since I wrote a book. The Ghost King of Maoshan finally gave me a dawn in my life.

As soon as it was put on the shelves, it dominated various lists, including recommendation lists, monthly ticket lists, sales lists...

It was almost one of the most popular supernatural novels at that time. This book once reached over 10,000 orders.

Audio novels are even more outstanding, whether they are Himalayas or Lazy Listening Books, they have always been at the top of the bestseller list.

This also gave me a very considerable income, which greatly alleviated the poverty of my life for many years.

Here, I am very grateful to those friends who have supported my writing and read the original version for many years. Without you, I would not be able to continue writing.

Writing is my ideal and my hobby. If I don’t write something every day, I feel that my life is incomplete and I can’t even sleep well.

But many times, ideals cannot be eaten. A writer must have an income and be able to support his family in order to write more exciting articles.

Many people have asked me, is it profitable to write novels?

This question is difficult for me to answer.

All I can say is that the vast majority of authors live on the edge of poverty and are very rare to get ahead.

There are millions of authors, but only one or two thousand can earn over 10,000 yuan a month.

Among them, there are those with annual incomes of over 100 million, and there are many who can't even earn 600 yuan a month with full attendance.

Writing is like sailing against the current. If you don't advance, you will retreat.

The same goes for life.

If you don't work hard, you will never get rewards.

The book "The Ghost King of Maoshan" has indeed brought me a lot during the more than ten years I have been writing, including a considerable amount of income.

However, the good times did not last long. After more than ten years, I finally wrote a hit novel. I thought I would be proud of myself and bring a better life to my family. But God made me laugh. After writing this book for 150 years, I finally wrote a hit novel. When I wrote more than 10,000 words, I happened to catch up with a wave of activities to crack down on supernatural and feudal superstitions. At that time, all my books were taken off the shelves, including Maoshan Ghost King, which was also blocked for a few days.

When it was released again, Maoshan Ghost King had to be renamed Xuanmen Demon King, and all book titles could not contain "ghost".

The Taoist Master of Corpse Exorcism and the Corpse Exorcist Family were all removed from the shelves at that time.

After my constant revisions and communication, Daozhang Zhizhang changed it to a nondescript name "I Lead the Kirin to the World" and put it back on the shelves.

However, "The Family of Exorcists" will never be successful and will be permanently banned.

All the books I had written for more than ten years were blocked at once. It felt very uncomfortable, as if a child I had raised for several years was taken away by others.

I suffered for a long time because of this incident. I was depressed for a while and went to the hospital many times.

Finally, I walked out slowly.

More importantly, the income from writing dropped sharply at that time, falling directly to one-fifth of normal income.

It's so noisy now that I can't even pay off my mortgage.

No matter how difficult life is, we must continue to persevere and the books must be updated.

But I didn't expect that my income was getting less and less every day, and it really got to the point where I could barely afford to eat.

I was not the only one who encountered this situation, most of the supernatural writers at the time had the same experience as me.

Friends who were reading books on QQ at the time should be able to understand the situation at that time. The books they were reading suddenly disappeared. Therefore, many authors who wrote supernatural novels at that time simply stopped writing, or finished them in a hurry to find another way to make a living.

I once had this idea, but I have a problem, that is, once I start something, I have to finish it.

No matter how difficult it is, you must finish the book.

In this way, I made do and persevered until 2020. I borrowed money when I had no money. That year, I was in debt of hundreds of thousands.

By 2021, I really couldn't bear it anymore. In order to make a living for my family, I went directly to Guangzhou to work for more than half a year.

Work and write at the same time.

This is why I updated less and less, first four updates, then three updates, and finally two updates.

Because I don’t have much time to write a book, and life is all about food, rice, oil and salt. No matter how hard I work, I can’t make my wife and children suffer.

In the end, I was writing and writing, and suddenly I found that in the entire QQ Reading, I was the only one who was still writing supernatural novels and updating them.

I am really holding on to loneliness.

Even so, I still persisted in writing more than 8.7 million words, and finally completed this novel.

I have been writing for more than four years and I don’t know how I persisted.

When I finished writing the last word that day, it was already late at night. I couldn't sleep. I stared at the computer in a daze for a few hours. Then I lay on the bed. I couldn't fall asleep. I couldn't explain why. I just felt uneasy. , I already had a severe neurasthenia, but this time, I didn’t sleep a wink for two days and two nights.

Many readers came to me through various channels and said that they were reluctant to finish this book. After reading it, they felt a sense of loss and sadness. They felt that there was still a lot that had not been explained and the ending was a bit hasty.

What I want to say is that I am more reluctant than any of you to leave the characters in the book.

When writing this book, I really integrated myself into the plot. One person had to play dozens of roles. I was Kuzu Yu for a while. One moment it’s Wu Jiuyin, another moment it’s Sha Qianli, another moment it’s Wu Daozi…

Over time, my mind became confused.

Various characters alternate and are complicated. Every day when I lie down, these characters will keep circling in my mind, making it difficult for me to fall asleep. Every time I am extremely sleepy, I will sleep for a few hours, and then wake up suddenly.

When I got up to write something more, I found that the book was finished.

I have nothing left to write.

Even for those extra chapters, I hesitated for a long time, always hesitating whether to write them or not.

I think that with regrets and suspense, this book will always stay in your memory and make you never forget it.

There are many imperfections in this world, so why should we demand that a book be perfect?

But I still wrote the extra at the request of everyone.

Although everyone still feels that it is not perfect, I really have nothing to write about.

Even if there is, I don't want to write it anymore. After all, I want to say a formal farewell to the Demon King of Xuanmen.
