Lucky Star

Chapter 58 - TOO POLITE....

"Your aim is the Sun? What do you want to do?" De Jia asked in surprise and interest.

"I want to be the first one to land on the Sun," Natalia said in determination, as she looked at the sun, even when her eyes hurt because of the bright light.

"Such an impossible and unrealistic dream." Feng Bao exclaimed in disbelief.

"Anything is possible if you have got enough nerve, which I definitely don't lack," Natalia said in an easygoing tone, completely unbothered by the crazy looks the others were giving her.

She simply shrugged and walked to Lu Chao and Li Chang who were busy looking at something, leaving the group of appalled boys behind.

After going around the gate and looking around for a while the group left for their next destination.

They visited the Berlin Wall, Marienfelde Refugee Center Museum followed by Berliner Fernsehturm commonly knowns as Berlin's Television Tower, where the group had their lunch in the revolving restaurant.

The lunch involved various delicacies of Berlin which dates back to more than five decades.

They then set out for their next destination being the Charlottenburg Palace and Park.

"Wow..." Mu Yue and Feng Fei gaped at the epitome of beauty in front of them.

"Do you know the history behind it?" James asked Li Mei lightly.

They had become close now than they were in the past weeks because of their similar interests in history and contrasting yet agreeable thoughts.

"If I'm not wrong it was named after the Prussian Queen, Sophie Charlotte, wife of King Friedrich I." Li Mei said with a slight frown as she tried to recollect what she knew.

"Indeed, there is a rich history behind the palace," James said seriously, to which Li Mei nodded with interest.

"Tell me more." Li Mei said in a calm but her eyes were glowing with interest, making James slightly amused.

"Sophie Charlotte of Hanover was the younger sister of George Louis of Hanover, who later succeeded to the British throne as George I. In 1684, she married Friedrich III, the Elector of Brandenburg and the then Duke of Prussia." James started calmly in a serious and sincere tone.

"Yes, I also remember reading somewhere that, this was Queen Sophie's summer palace and was initially known as Lietzenburg Palace." Li Mei said as she remembered few more details regarding the historical monument.

"Even her husband King Friedrich I could only visit if she personally invited him. After her death, Friedrich named the palace and the surrounding area Charlottenburg in her honor." Li Mei continued with wide eyes in excitement.

"I really don't get your excitement towards history." Natalia out of nowhere appeared behind the duo and said helplessly.

Li Mei who was initially excited was scared speechless by the sudden appearance of Natalia but James was least surprised cause he was used to her appearing and disappearing like this.

"What are you a ghost?" Li Mei exclaimed breathlessly as she held her hand over her heart.

"Then you can be my phantom!" Natalia said cheekily as she looked at James seriously.

"You see Brother James, you are occupying my Sister's time too much with your boring historical and philosophical talks and hence I am snatching her away from you," Natalia said seriously as she looked at James accusingly.

"But I don't see you Sister complaining," James said in amusement, even Li Mei was amused by Natalia's antics.

"Unlike me, she is too polite to point it out. So I decided to become her saving grace. Sister Mei, no need to thank me, we don't need formalities between us." Natalia refuted James and quickly turned to Li Mei and smiled cheekily at her.

"Did I say anything about thanking you?" Li Mei asked in extreme amusement.

"Weren't you enjoying well with others?" Li Mei asked in amusement and helplessness.

"I need to give everyone equal time or else, what if you think that my love for you is less than what I have for others?" Natalia in an exaggerated manner, making Li Mei chuckle softly.

"So cheeky." Li Mei sighed softly, as she lightly pinched Natalia's cheeks.

The pair of sisters then walked silently, while enjoying each other's comfortable company.

"In the morning I heard you talking about your aim to Jia, Jian, and Bao. You were so confident, that it made me wonder something." Li Mei started softly with a small warm smile.

"What is it, Sister Mei?" Natalia asked with an easygoing smile.

"Aren't you afraid of obstacles, which can never be won over? What if after all the efforts you still fail?" Li Mei asked seriously, faint worry lines appearing on her forehead.

"I have always believed that, if life gives you lemons, squirt them in your enemy's eye," Natalia said airily, with a worry-free smile, as if she is unbothered by anything and everything.

"Is it the age or is your temperament really so easygoing?" Li Mei mumbled to herself softly, which Natalia did not hear as she was skipping ahead happily in the garden.

"We were also like her when we were around Mummy right?" Lu Chao said warmly as he looked at his little sister with eyes full of warmth.

"I envy her, she is not afraid of falling down and failures. She is pursuing her dreams freely, with unwavering determination to achieve it.." Li Mei said with a proud smile.
