Love is a Sweet Poison

Giggling Amelia blushes and covers her mouth happily. "It is good to see you again. Itsuki. It is alright. I think that it is good that you two had sometime together. I was resting anyways." Amelia smiled when her stomach growled. She covers her cheeks in embarrassment. "How embarrassing."

"I think now that everyone is here what don't we all have lunch together? That is why we came up here. It is quiet during the day and there is usually no one up here while the others are busy in the fields." Subaru opens his basket and starts to spread out what he has. 

Gabriel opened their basket and spread out their food as well. "We might as well share everything. The Boss made your meal and Mari made ours." He picked up an onigiri and handed it to Amelia. 

Taking the onigiri Amelia blushes. "Thank you, itadakimasu." She takes a bite and sighs in happiness. As the pickled plum, rice and seaweed taste fills her mouth. "Mmmmmm, this is so good." 

"Grandfather makes great food!" Itsuki forgetting the moment that Gabriel and Amelia shared eats the food that he took happily. 

Everyone ate happily. Gabriel watched Amelia carefully. Not wanting her to push herself after he so selfishly pushed her to exhaustion earlier. He cut some yokan and fed her. 

Eating the yokan Amelia blushes. "I can feed myself dear.

Subaru watches in fascination, but eats quietly. 'I think I have figured out just what these two were up to.' He shakes his head and laughs a little.

Gabriel looks at Subaru and sees the look in his eye. 'He knows.' He chuckles and gets up and takes Subaru with him. Once they were out of ear shot he looks him in the eye. "I am sorry that you came up and saw just what we had been doing although I am glad that it happened after I had it my way." 

"At first that is what I thought that you two might have been up to, but then I remembered that she is weak, and I had hoped I was wrong, but you are pampering her happily. I will not blame you two as you just married. She looks healthier than my wife, so I do not believe that you will face the same hardships that I did when my wife was pregnant." Subaru patted Gabriel on the shoulder before walking back to the blanket. 

Amelia looked at Gabriel and saw the smile on his face and was relieved. She had finished the yokan and was done eating. She decided to watch as the two walked away. "You went so far away." 

Amelia stood up slowly and slipped her sandals back on before she stepped away from the blanket. "I had a lovely time."

"Thank you for allowing us to join you on the blanket that you had laid out. I will bring it back with me and return it to Mari once we are down up here." Subaru bowed his head and smiled. 

"Thank you." Gabriel collected Amelia's obi and stashed it in the basket and then Joined Amelia and got his sandals on. He waved then turned and walked with Amelia. "You did wonderful. How are you feeling?" 

"Ummmm, "Amelia turns red, "I can feel it running down the side of my leg. It feels weird." She looked up at Gabriel and saw that he was smirking. "You are cruel you know that?" 

"Only when I want to be." He stopped when they were far enough away and helped her fix her clothing and tied the obi that was in the basket and placed the blanket back in the basket. "There's no one will know what I did to you, except Subaru picked up on it. He told me that you look better than when his wife did when she got pregnant with Itsuki." 

Amelia covered her mouth and a tear started to fall from her cheek. "I feel bad because I feel happy. That I am in better condition than his wife but because I feel like this, I get to live while she died." She looked at Gabriel saddened. She looked at him and waited to see what Gabriel would say

Gabriel dabbed her eyes and kissed her cheek. "It is out of our control but think about this, he still; has his son. That in itself is a gift." He helped her inside that inn. He looked around the entrances way and smiled. 

Tomomi rushed forward and clung to Amelia's leg. "Hello, Older Sister. You look like you are very happy. I really love the bunny that you brought for me." 

"You are so precious. I am really glad that you like the bunny. It is a gift for you. A reward for being so good and taking your medication and getting better. Remember to dry your hair after a bath so that you do not get chilled. I would hate to see you unwell." Amelia kneels down and hugs the girl and pats her on the head. :While smiling sweetly she catches Gabriel staring at her. 

'The picture I could paint like this.' Gabriel watches and starts to sketch out the picture in his mind. He looks around the entrance and takes in the small details. The sliding doors with the rice paper screens, the sandals at the doors, The coloured fabric hung up above the doorway, and Mai walking up. 

"I'm sorry that she disturbed you two." Mari bows and takes the basket back. "

"Nonsense. She is not bothering me at all." Amelia stood up and patted Tomomi on the head and then turned. "Honestly, I think that I like it here. It is very peaceful. We had a lovely picnic..." as she thinks about what they did outside her face starts to redden, and she covers her cheeks. "Thank you for the lovely meal."

"The bigger blanket will be brought back by Subaru. We sat and had an unexpected lunch together." Gabriel's head caught Amelia's blush and happily went to her side. "You changed some of the decor in the inn. I think that it compliments it very well. Would you like a painting for the wall?" Gabriel pointed to the big empty space. 

"Oh, ummmm, no I could not accept suck an expensive gift. I will one day find the right thing to go in that spot." Mari shakes her head to decline.

Amelia's face lights up and she smiles. "What if it only costs the price of supplies? I know someone that would be able to paint a beautiful picture for the wall." She starts to think of all sorts of ideas. 

"I don't think that would be an issue. Supplies is something that I could pay for if it was not all that much. I know that you said that you know someone, but it would not be proper to ask you to look into this while you are on holiday." Mari bowed and held out her hand to Tomomi. "Will you be busy this evening?" 

"Not this evening. We are going to go back out in a bit. There is so much that I want to show Amelia, and we only have a week." Taking her hand Gabriel leads her back to the bedroom. Once he entered the room he closed the door behind them. He untied her obi and helped slide the yukata off and then laid her on the ground. He placed his finger to her lips and left her laying on the bedding, he came back with a bucket and a cloth. Gabriel gingerly lifted her leg and started to wipe up her leg. "As I am the one that has soiled you. I should be the one that has to clean you up and take care of you." 

Amelia closed her eyes and let Gabriel wipe her clean. From his gentleness, she didn't feel uncomfortable other than having another clean her up. She relaxed and opened her eyes. Watching as Gabriel wiped, rinsed the cloth, wrung it out and continued until she was completely clean. "Thank you, I could've done this much, but you are taking such good care of me." 

"It is my job to do so. I would take care of you anytime that you needed me too. I love you and you should know that I will do anything that I feel is right. As I said earlier I am the one the soiled you, so I should be the one to clean you. Don't fret over it." Gabriel leans over and kisses her cheek.
