Chapter 60: conflict

  Chapter 60 Conflict

David patted Luke on the shoulder, "Report to the captain, I'm going to smoke a cigarette."

Luke smiled, "You have also learned to be lazy."

"Yeah, Mr. Luke." David waved his hand from behind and left the monitoring room.

Luke called Susan to report the situation. Judging from the situation at the scene, there should be two people who took Lawn away.

One person is responsible for diverting the patrolman away, and the other person takes the opportunity to transport Lawn away.

After Luke reported, he left the monitoring room, but David still did not come back.

Luke called, only to find out that the other party went downstairs to smoke.

Luke goes downstairs and finds David, "Hey man, what's up?"

"Smoking is prohibited in the hospital, I just want to come out to get some air..." David exhaled a smoke ring.

"That's not like the David I know." Luke shook his head.

David is irritable and reckless, but he is very attentive in investigating the case. His behavior of smoking and laziness in the middle of the investigation is more like the style of Marcus and Luke.

David was silent for a moment, threw the cigarette **** on the ground, and stepped on it, "Are you hungry? Eat something first."

The last time David had this emotion, it was still related to his wife.

Luke glanced around and asked in a low voice, "What happened to Lindsay again?"

David pursed his lips and his eyes flickered, as if there was something unspeakable.

Luke thought about it carefully, his expression changed slightly, "That female nurse?"

David didn't dare to meet Luke's eyes, "Listen, I'm not sure, it's just a feeling..."

   "Have you contacted her recently?"

   "She won't answer my phone."

"David, you are not an indecisive person. You should solve Lindsay's matter thoroughly. Either throw her into a drug rehabilitation center or get a divorce. Otherwise, you will be implicated by her sooner or later."

"I know, it's just...not as easy as you said..."

Luke stopped his point, and didn't want to get too involved in the affairs of their husband and wife, "What do you want now? Come with me to meet Lindsay, or..."

"I'll call the captain and ask for leave today." After David finished speaking, he looked at Luke aside, "Hey, if you can..."

Halfway through speaking, David sighed, but couldn't say it after all.

Luke didn't ask, and watched David leave.

   "Fuck!"

  …

An hour later, a black Dodge parked near Lindsay's house.

Luke was sitting in the co-pilot checking the pistol, and said to Marcus who was driving beside him, "You stay here, Jenny and I will go up."

   "Yes, Inspector Luke."

Marcus was happy with the arrangement, but didn't like the tone of Luke's order.

Luke, Marcus, and Jenny are all detectives at the same level, but there must always be someone in the lead.

Luke was not at ease with these two people, so he simply came by himself.

The two walked to the door of Lindsay's house, Luke hid on the right side of the door, and Jenny knocked on the door.

   "Boom..."

"Da da..." Luke faintly heard footsteps, but no one answered.

Jenny knocked on the door again, "Boom...Is anyone there?"

"Who's out there? What's the matter?"

"Hello, I'm here to see Lindsay."

After a while, the door opened, and a black man in his fifties stood at the door, "You are in the wrong place, there is no such person here."

The black man found Luke, "What the **** are you guys?"

Luke flashed his police badge, "lapd, let's find out about something from Lindsay."

"I said, there is no such person here."

   "When did you move here?"

"Four days ago, the last tenant was evicted by the landlord because she couldn't pay the rent. I don't know if her name is Lindsay."

   "How to contact the landlord?"

"I can give you my mobile phone number 6268464572." After finishing speaking, the black man urged, "Hey, don't mention my name, I don't want to cause trouble."

"I know, thank you."

The black man nodded, closed the door and went home.

Jenny said, "It seems that Lindsay is not doing well. Does this count as a criminal motive?"

"Maybe."

As soon as the two turned around and left, they heard a burst of cursing.

   "fuck you!"

   "You **** bastard!"

Luke turned his head and saw Marcus wrestling with someone on the road.

Luke took out his pistol and rushed over to support, "lapd, stop immediately, or I will shoot."

Jenny ran to the other side with a gun, forming a surrounding situation.

Hearing Luke's warning, both the brawler and Marcus stopped, each taking a few steps back.

A man in a leather jacket raised his hands, "Don't shoot."

"Whoa, isn't that Harry from Drag Race? Your leather jacket has a skull printed on it, congratulations."

"Officer Luke, no offense intended, this **** messed with me first."

"fuck, do you want to die?" Marcus is sensitive to that word.

"Shut up both of you, Marcus, stand back.

Harry, I'm going to arrest you for assaulting the police. You should be familiar with the procedures. Don't cause trouble for me, and don't make yourself uncomfortable. "

Harry gave Marcus a hard look, and said angrily, "Officer Luke, before you arrest me, you'd better ask your colleague, what did he do?"

"I will." Luke grabbed Harry's arms, handcuffed him, and pushed him into the car.

Luke directed the black colleague beside him, "Marcus, why are you two fighting?"

"I was just trying to get out of the car for a cigarette, and this **** came and hit me straight up, he hit me first."

"Harry is not a fool. I don't believe he dared to attack the police for no reason. Since the last time we met at the motel, have you two still been in contact?"

"No, this is the second time I see him."

"Then why did he beat you? If the situation was critical just now, I would shoot directly. I don't believe that he is not afraid of death."

Marcus said helplessly, "Although I haven't seen him...but I have seen Julian."

"Julian?" Luke muttered, the name was a little familiar, but he couldn't react immediately, "Harry's girlfriend?"

"Yeah, a hot black lady, I'm chasing her, she's really good. She likes me too, Harry is going to be dumped, soon."

"Phew..." Luke sighed, "So you're trying to steal Harry's girlfriend?"

"They're not married yet. I have the right to pursue whoever I like. It's a fair game. Obviously Harry lost. Julian liked me more, and Harry became angry.

I've seen this kind of person a lot, a guy who can't afford to lose. "

Luke was too lazy to meddle in his business, and changed the subject, "What do you want to do now? Sue him for assaulting the police, or let him go?"

Xiao Hei spread his hands, "I haven't made up my mind yet, do you have any suggestions?"

"Leave this matter to me, OK?"

"Yeah, I leave it to you."

Luke opened the door and sat next to Harry, "Hey, I talked to Marcus and probably heard about the grievances between you.

You two have grievances that can be resolved privately, I don't care.

But now we are performing a mission, your behavior just now may cause our mission to fail.

If I wanted to, I could arrest you now for assaulting a police officer. "

Harry also calmed down, "Sorry, I didn't know you were on a mission, that **** was going to steal my girlfriend.

I was so **** that I thought he was on vacation. "

Luke continued, "Harry, we are also acquaintances. I don't want to make things too ugly. I just talked to Marcus and he agreed to give you a chance and not prosecute you for assaulting the police.

But...you're going to do us a favor and make up for the mistake. "

"What do you want me to do?"

"Find someone, this area is under your control, it is not difficult for you."

"who?"

   "Lindsay."
