Chapter 33: The Second World (9) [Part 2]

Having lived through one life, if she wanted to live well, she certainly had to pave the way for future. Yun Yin had a lot of people taking care of her and was also a wealthy young lady, so losing Yun Yang wouldn’t make much of a difference. She, on the other hand, only needed Yun Yang.

God bestowed on her this great opportunity, and she was determined to make Yun Yang fall deeply in love with her before their souls switched back.

In the end, Yun Yin stayed behind and slept with Ji Mo. These days, Yun’s family feels quite dissatisfied with Yun Yang, believing that he is neglecting Yun Yin for the sake of another woman.

Meanwhile, the real Yun Yang sensed the hostility from Yun’s family and didn’t think that there were any issues between him and Xia Qing in the slightest. Instead, he found Yun’s family and Yun Yin quite unreasonable.

Ji Mo quietly stood on the sidelines and ate a melon. She hadn’t thought of exposing the truth about their soul exchange to others, nor had she considered letting Yun Yang know about Xia Qing’s true nature.

System No. 444: [Why not?]

Systen No. 444 added: [Don’t people who time travel usually reveal each other’s true colors?]

Ji Mo: “Why would I want to expose it? After exposing the truth, wouldn’t that be cheaper for Yang? According to the plot, he and I are supposed to be enemies, and I don’t want to help him see through Xia Qing’s white lotus act. Scum should stick together so that they won’t harm others. I’ll protect the two little big shots. As long as they’re fine, Yun Yin won’t lose her rationality, Yun’s patriarch won’t fall ill from extreme anger, and the rest of the Yun family won’t ignore Yun Yin’s feelings and neglect the Yun family. Yun Yang won’t be able to reap any benefits but also bear the consequences of the entire family’s alienation.”

Ji Mo: “Someone who disregards the safety of their own sister’s life and allows Xia Qing to cause havoc as she pleases, I’m really worried that Xia Qing won’t hold back. Let’s wait until they switch back, and Yun Yang’s overbearing affection for Xia Qing will make the Yun family see something they’ve never seen before.”

System No. 444: “I think you have a quite dark heart.”

Ji Mo: “I know, you’re praising me for being clever and effortlessly knocking down the two scums.”

System 444: [Tonight, my partner is on vacation. So please refrain from bothering me unless something important happens. I want to chat with my partner about accidentally picking up a shameless, scheming host. Thankfully, we have a contract, otherwise you’d surely scheme against this system.]

Ji Mo: “Aren’t you imagining things? We don’t have any animosity. Why would I scheme against you?”

Yun Yang and Xia Qing went back home. Yun Yang’s villa was just next door, a few minutes away.

“I’m having a bit of a hard time dealing with Yinyin. You and your sister don’t seem to get along well.” Xia Qing opened her mouth. “I don’t even know what to bring her next time to make her happy.”

Yun Yang’s eyes cooled down. “No need to bring anything. I’m usually busy, and the family helps me watch over her. She goes to school during the day, and occasionally a teacher will come to give lessons, so I don’t have much contact with Yinyin. Before this incident, I didn’t see any issues. If this hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have known she was so unruly.”

These days, Yun Yang has experienced rejection from his own sister, a feeling that leaves him uncomfortable.

“At the very least, you two are siblings. Perhaps the age gap of almost one generation is causing some misunderstandings. You need to spend more time together to build a better relationship.”

“She’s already grown up, but still acting ignorant and insensible. She is usually spoiled, so just ignore her and let her realize her wrongdoings by herself,” Yun Yang said. “If she doesn’t listen, you can talk more.”

Xia Qing shook her head. “She’s just a child. It’s okay if she’s being a bit troublesome. You can’t blame her every time, or she’ll hold a grudge against you, her older brother. It’s better to wait until we switch back, then you can deal with this issue properly.”

Ji Mo was upstairs, looking at the two figures as they got inside the villa before withdrawing her eyes. Unexpectedly, when she turned around, she was greeted by the sight of Yun Luo standing behind her.

“It looks like you’re suspecting something as well,” Yun Luo said with certainty, her gaze landing on Ji Mo’s phone. “I’ve been observing for a while now. They haven’t shown any inappropriate behavior in public when there are only the two of them, nor do they seem affectionate.”

“I’m just concerned about Yinyin and want to know what’s going on between them.”

Yun Luo pursed her lips and smiled. “And what have you discovered?”

“I find their interaction patterns quite strange.”

Yun Luo said, “Lately, Xia Qing hasn’t been assigned any work, which I find very odd. Could it be that she’s not interested in mixing in the industry anymore but wants to marry into the Yun family?”

Ji Mo: Not really. It’s because of Yun Yang, this rich daddy. Why would he want to act in films, shoot commercials, wear dresses, and use high heels?

Didn’t you notice that every time they come over, Xia Qing is dressed up more casually?

Ji Mo recalled in her mind the estimated time when Xia Qing started working, which was around the same time when she and Yun Yang switched back to their bodies. Doing the math, it was nearing the end of the year, and there were three months to go.

By then, Yun Yang would have provided Xia Qing with a lot of resources and would likely give a helping hand with the intention of making her famous.

“Let’s not talk about them anymore. It’s time to get some rest. You’ve been troubled by Yinyin,” Yun Huo said. “Right, if you encounter any trouble at work, feel free to tell me. Both of the little ones have told me to take care of you and don’t allow others to bully you.”

“Recently, they’ve been checking out a lot of things in the industry you’re in, and they’re growing more and more worried about you.” Yun Luo rubbed her temple and spoke, her tone tinged with helplessness. “They even mentioned that you work too hard to earn money, and they intend to use their allowance to support you.”

Ji Mo was really favored by the two children. Yun Luo didn’t know whether to cry or laugh about this.

Ji Mo felt honored. She hadn’t expected the two big shots to care so much about her, even suggesting that they use their pocket money to support her. It was really touching.

So, does that mean she will become a prominent figure like Wang Lun in the future?

“Yinyin seems a little unhappy lately,” Ji Mo asked the little girl lying beside her.

Yun Yin flattened her mouth and said, “Brother has been acting strange lately. He also listens to Xia Qing about everything, not the same brother I used to know.”

“I have a feeling that my brother doesn’t like me anymore.”
