Chapter 24: The First World (End) (1) [Part 3]

The next day, Chu Wei returned to her usual self.

However, Ji Mo was very worried regarding this and monitored Chu Wei’s locations every single day. What happened this time caused her to take it seriously.

Chu Wei stays in the hospital most of the time, and every day, she encounters different kinds of bad news. She had no idea if it was because of what happened to the girl, but Chu Wei had been paying special attention to the emergency department.

So when she got home after working hours, Chu Wei would always share news about girls being killed while walking the streets. Some were moved directly to go for an autopsy, while some were rushed to the emergency department.

“A serial murder case was discovered in the Eastern District. The victims shared a common feature and that is they were all girls who lived alone in their house.” Chu Wei said, “The girls who were murdered so far were only found the next day, with no chance of reviving. All of them were strangled until they lost breath and die.”

“Has the murderer been found?” Ji Mo inquired.

Chu Wei shook her head, “Not yet, but now there is no perfect crime. The other party has done a lot of crimes, and it is just a matter of time before he will be found out.”

“I remember that in the East District, most of the places there are old communities with dark streets, so the security is pretty bad.” Ji Mo furrowed her eyebrows, “mixed in the fishes, it won’t be easy to identify him.”

“It doesn’t matter since there’s a high possibility that he will be caught. Two of the people handling this case are my old classmates. I have already deduced some factors behind why the murderer killed several girls.” Chu Wei took a bite of the food and resumed talking, “Those girls who were killed by him hardly leave their house, only working at home. They have a common job and that is an anchor. It cannot be ruled out that this murderer is perhaps a fan of watching live broadcasts.”

Chu Wei hurriedly finished eating the food, and said to Ji Mo that she was going to Xie Chuang’s place.

Ji Mo became lively again for an instant. She assumed that Chu Wei might be asking Xie Chuang to help her find the whereabouts of the murderer. Xie Chuang was very good at this, and since it was finally determined that all the victims were anchors, there was a high probability that the murderer was watching live broadcasts.

She locked onto Chu Wei’s location in her mind. A few moments later, she heard Chu Wei’s voice asking Xie Chuang to help her track the location of the possible suspects. The main thing is to look for traces online first.

“Look for the fans of these anchors first and see how many people followed these anchors at the same time. It looks like some of them are not the same live broadcast platform. You have to check the account IP number.” Chu Wei said.

As for what her next steps would be, she still had no idea. She just knew that she wanted to find out the possible murderer.

For Xie Chuang, what Chu Wei asked him to do was very easy. A short time was enough for him to find out the account IPs of the fans who were following these female anchors at the same time. Because the live broadcast basically has replays, it is easy to access the speech records of these accounts.

These female anchors all came from different live broadcast platforms. If these accounts shared the same IP address and only followed these female anchors at the same time, then this person is likely to be very suspicious.

Under Xie Chuang’s efforts, some accounts of the major live broadcast platforms were found, and the result is that these accounts were the same after comparing their IP numbers.

“Chu Wei, it’s not certain yet.” Xie Chuang said outwardly, but inside, he knew that something was off from Chu Wei. These days, Chu Wei’s condition was not very good. He felt that she should let Ji Mo know about it later, so that she could monitor her.

“You can help me keep an eye on this person first. Monitor him and see if he will still follow another anchor. I’ll have a conversation with my classmates about this matter.” Chu Wei rubbed the space between her eyebrows with a tired face. Once the murderer is caught, he will be sentenced to the death penalty and he won’t have any chance of escaping. This was something she didn’t need to be concerned about too much. But the problem is, the outcome of the trial will be relatively slow, and he’s still allowed to live a little longer.

Yet, how about those people who had the high possibility of being a criminal and killing other girls? Was it right to wait for them to be punished after the crime was already committed?

Ji Mo finally felt at ease once she heard Chu Wei say that she was going to have a conversation with her classmates about the results, signifying that Chu Wei had no intention of making a move on the murderer herself. But it doesn’t mean that Chu Wei won’t do other things.

In a couple of days, the murderer of the serial murder case was caught, and it was the same person Xie Chuang had found. When Xie Chuang was using that method of tracking the murderer online, the police’s side was also using the same method. The police had long put suspects under surveillance and were just waiting for the other side to move.

When Chu Wei got news that the murderer had been caught, a rare smile appeared in her face.

It was only Ji Mo who noticed that Chu Wei was not in her right condition and that she had been going to Xie Chuang’s place frequently. Ji Mo knew from the tracker that Chu Wei had asked Xie Chuang many times to track the same kind of people on the internet who were speaking to kill all women and that women deserved to die.

Ji Mo’s eyelids jumped and she thought that Chu Wei might be planning something big.

But before she could take action, Xie Chuang took the initiative to come to her and made his intentions clear. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there is done off about Chu Wei’s condition.”

“I know.”

Xie Chuang was full of worry, “Ever since the incident about the girl at the emergency department happened, I have a feeling that Chu Wei’s mental condition is not very right. There are times she thinks of things similar to a paranoid person, particularly when she sees or hears news about innocent girls being attacked and killed. Every time that happened, it was as if she turned into a different person. Even when looking at her, I feel a little afraid. That look in her eyes, it’s like she’s going to kill someone.”

Ji Mo said silently to herself, what you felt is really not wrong. In the original trajectory of the plot, not only did Chu Wei kill, but you are also an accomplice in the killings. You two are not mentally healthy.

On the surface, Xie Chuang looked calm, but in fact, his heart was not as calm on the surface.

In the plot, it was obvious that every time Chu Wei had him check on something, she was planning on doing something big, but Xie Chuang did not have the intention of stopping her. Every time Chu Wei asked him to do something, he didn’t ask the reason and only did it carefully.

Just by this thing alone, isn’t it obvious that these two are the same kind of people? Really speaking as if you’re not the same.

“Look after Chu Wei. You two are married and are living such a happy life. You can’t let your happiness now be destroyed just because of some things.”
