Lisko’s American Life

235. Zhang You Herding

Zhang You got up in the morning and exercised habitually. This habit was picked up after retirement. He wished he could sleep more when he was at work.

After retiring, Li Feng took him for a physical examination, and found that everything else was tall except for his shrinking head. There was no other way but to pick up the early morning exercises of the army.

Even though he has come to the United States, he still can't lose this habit that he has maintained for several years. After washing, he twisted his arms and legs, and took a few deep breaths in the fresh air of the pasture.

The endless green pasture here made him feel a lot of relief in his chest, which he couldn't experience after exercising in the city.

Just when I was about to run a few laps around the area, I saw the cowboys driving the cattle and grazing deep into the pasture.

Seeing the endless herd of cows, he was no longer in a hurry to run, and squatted aside watching the movements of the cowboys with great interest.

"This is much more standardized than the grazing in Tibet."

Zhang You nodded and greeted the cowboys passing by on the horse, while comparing in his heart.

Thanks to the fact that he was in Tibet when he was a soldier, he still has a special liking for cattle.

"Good morning, sir."

David saw Zhang You squatting on the side from a distance. After thinking twice, he still drove his horse over. After all, he knew that Zhang You was Zhang Li's father. The hostess of the ranch is Zhang Li.

"Good morning,"

Although Zhang You is not good at English, he can still communicate in a simple way. When he saw David approaching, he quickly stood up and responded.

"Can I come together?"

Zhang You feels that riding a horse is more physical exercise than other running.

So after greeting David, he spoke directly, and he didn't know everything. At that time, when he was patrolling and encountered herdsmen, he often helped herds.

"certainly."

When David heard Zhang You's request, he was taken aback for a moment, and then immediately agreed.

He knew that Zhang You could ride a horse, so he took him with him when grazing, and just followed the cattle. Otherwise, he could take a helicopter and experience the joy of grazing in the sky.

After Zhang You got the permission, he didn't care about running any more, and returned to the castle excitedly, and told Li Feng, who was still sleepy, about the two thick clothes.

"I just asked about their cowboys, and I'm going to graze with them."

Li Feng was startled awake by his wife's surprised tone, and then a little worried.

"Won't you bother them? Will you? Don't bother them."

"It will definitely, it's okay, I'll follow behind."

After finishing speaking, he ran downstairs in a hurry.

Li Feng was not in the mood for Xiaomei anymore, and followed her downstairs.

"You bring some bread. When I was picking vegetables yesterday, I heard from the cowgirls on the ranch that they often have breakfast while grazing."

Li Feng grabbed Zhang You who was about to rush out, and wrapped a few pieces of bread with one side of the paper. The bread was baked by Xin Si for breakfast.

"okay, I get it."

Zhang You couldn't hold back his wife, so he stuffed the bread into his pocket and ran to the front of the cowshed to meet up with the cowboys.

"Have you brought breakfast?"

Seeing that Zhang You was ready, David asked again.

"Bring it."

Zhang You patted his bulging clothes.

"So, do you want to get on the helicopter together?"

David still thought it would be safer to take the helicopter. After all, it is a bit dangerous for the cows to run, and they don't know how Zhang You's riding skills are.

Of course Zhang You couldn't understand the long string of English, but he looked at David's fingers and guessed the general meaning.

"nonono, I ride this."

Zhang You patted David's horse resolutely. You can experience it after grazing by plane. If you don't ride a horse, you will feel nothing.

David looked at Zhang You, and the cowboys on one side, and shrugged helplessly.

The cowboys lined up neatly, waiting for David to arrange tasks, and Zhang You also lined up at the tail of the queue excitedly.

"alright,"

David patted his palm and drew the attention of the cowboys who were greeting Zhang You.

"Today, O'Nekin is in front, Hammer is on the left, Humber is on the left, Weiss is supporting, and Jimmy, you are behind. Be careful not to disperse when the herd passes through the woods."

The cowboys got the task, covered their chests with their cowboy hats, and then agreed in unison, which shocked Zhang You on the side.

"Sir, follow behind and stay away from the herd."

David walked up to Zhang You, even said and gestured, looked at Zhang You and nodded, and then looked at the cowboys with excited eyes. He didn't know if he understood.

David also boarded the helicopter on one side, and the propeller started to rotate at a faster and faster speed, and then brought gusts of wind. David operated a few times skillfully, and the helicopter flew into the sky.

Eugene pulled the fence of the bullpen with his shackle, saw that David had ascended to heaven, whistled loudly, and then pulled it up, and the bullpen was opened.

"Excuse me."

The herds of cows ran towards the vast pasture along the passage made by the cattle fence. The cowboys returned to their positions, and then drove the cows deep with whips.

Zhang You patted the horse under him excitedly, and then followed behind Jimmy whom David had just arranged, watching the undulating herd of cattle in front of him, like the back of a moving mountain.

Herding is not so fun. Just halfway through the journey, Zhang You felt the burning pain on the inner thigh of his thigh, which he had not ridden for a long time, because he did not take protective measures.

But I asked for speed to follow, so Zhang You didn't say a word, he gritted his teeth and persisted, otherwise he would be ashamed.

At the same time, the pasture in the pasture was covered with morning dew, so his pants and the sneakers he wore for sports were quickly wet, and his sticky socks stuck to his feet, which was very uncomfortable.

But this journey came soon. After passing through the woods, I arrived at the pasture near the Rocky Mountains. The pasture here looks stronger than other places. The cowboys in front have controlled the cows. The speed also began to slow down, scattered into groups of three or two to eat the grass under their feet.

"Sir, you can rest now, we will have breakfast under the tree, you can come together."

It was Jimmy who spoke, and Zhang You responded with a smile, then moved his posture on the horse, and then got off the horse quietly, trying his best to control his walking posture.

Hammer noticed it very carefully. He walked up to Zhang You, patted him on the shoulder, untied his breeches and handed them to Zhang You.

"nonono," Zhang You looked at the gray-bearded cowboy who looked older than himself, and quickly rejected his offer. He wore his, but Hanmer didn't.
