Seven jumped at the beast delivering another blow to the head, but it didn't seem to have the same effect as the first one. Verta was on guard now completely focused on him.

Seven glanced in my direction for a moment, understanding what he meant I stood up and ran for the exit, but it seems our mythical friend there has other plans as it charged an electro sphere and sent it my way.

Before I decide whether or not to dodge Seven jumped in the way deflecting the attack with his arm

" YOU DAMNED ç'56 8_(-_ è_è _|| ^\| èç-è (-\[- è_( ² (-è( $ùm $^ù !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Jumping in the air Seven joined hands together and swung down but Verta was quick to react and jumped sideways avoiding the attack that shattered the ground. Seven didn't stop but followed with a tackle

Verta wasn't fazed by that and released a surge of energy electrifying Seven who was still in contact with it then hit him with its front leg sending him flying

"DAMN IT!!!!! YOU PIECEOF FUK!!!" he uses the wall as a support to launch himself into the air repeating the same downward swing, Verta tried dodging it the same way but couldn't , it was trapped between two glassume crystals

"ç5è _5-5 -è_ ^ù$ !lm ù;;: ,!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The hit connected and a painful scream escaped the beast

"DAMN YOU DAMN YOU DAMN YOU DAMN YOU DAMN YOU!!!!!" Seven didn't stop delivering a barrage of blows to its back

"ROAAAAAARRRRR!!" Verta roared painfully .

It was a scary sight, Seven is completely out of control. I even feel sorry for the Verta who is trying to escape releasing pained noises

This isn't what you would expect in a fight between a mythical beast that bring disasters and destroy whole planets and a normal living creature. Though, it's hard to call Seven normal.

Usually he is a timid person afraid of simple night crawlers, but when he enter this berserk like state he becomes so terrifying that he scares even me.

Not to mention the way he is able to deflect Verta's attacks, the shock that the beast releases at body contact no longer has any effect on him at all.

The Verta is way weaker than the books foretold. Now that I take a clearer look I noticed that its body is several times smaller than before?

My eyes are drawn to the collar around its neck once again, could it be the cause behind it?

"NOT SO SCARRY NOW HUH? HAHAHAHA" Seven laughed a sinister laugh as his fists rained blows on the poor Verta

am I allowed to feel pity toward the monster that almost killed me not a minute ago.

"S-Seven…." On my call, his right fist stopped on its way to the beast's head. He sent me a sharp look that almost stopped my heart

"WHAT?"

"um…I …I think we should get going now…"

"HUH!!???RAISE YOUR VOICE! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!!" he yelled at me

To be honest he wasn't that far, I don't know if he really can't hear me but his angry voice isn't something I want directed at me.

Calming my alarmed mind I took a deep breath and tried again

" let's get out of here!!!"

"OKAY!!! JUST ONE MINUTE! I WANT TO KILL THIS THING!!!!"

You don't have to yell you know, I can hear you just fine. No, seriously, we should get going. I have a really bad feeling about this

" forget about it! even if you could it will probably take too long!"

" BUT!"

" we should escape while we can before it wakes up again!"

Punching the beast for one last time Seven descended from its back. He slowly walked to where I stood spinning his arm and checking his joints

" haaaah… no matter how many times I do it, it still feel unnatural"

"what is it?"

" fighting and punching and killing things. Maybe it's has something to do with my memories" he said looking at his hand opening and closing it several times.

" hmmmm… I think you did pretty well" the beaten Verta came in sight as I told him that

"that's the problem, I told you before right? I wasn't used to violence where I previously lived "

Not used to violence ? tell that to the poor Verta over there

" maybe they programmed something to help you move when they upgraded your body, you are supposed to be a weapon after all"

"right… maybe my memory lose isn't natural like I previously thought" a sad expression formed on his face. All the craziness from before seemed like a well made delusion, my mind automatically tried to search for a topic to change to, and glad enough there was one not far away

" hey, don't you think your hair changing color and your body glowing is more concerning right now?"

"hm?" Seven looked at me a dumb look then examined his body " you are right "

Wait. Did he just notice it right now?

Seven bowed down and looked at his reflection on the transparent floor

"uwah… I hope it's not permanent, I don't want to look like a ghoul for the rest of my life"

"what is a ghoul?" another earthen term?

"it's from a popular manga back from where I'm from, they are creatures that look like humans but like to eat them"

"what is a manga?"

" it's a…" he stopped suddenly turning to the left " where did the beast-" it was too late, the Verta is already behind us

"SHI-" a swing from its claws came down on us. Seven reacted by covered me taking the hit with his back

The impact sent us both flying

"damn it! Lilia are you allright?"

"what about you? You back got-"

"who cares about my back! I'm asking if you were injured anywhere-" he suddenly stopped, his eyes going wide " your leg…"

" huh? You mean this?" it was a small graze, barely noticeable

"your leg is injured… "

"I can still walk…Seven… look"

The Verta didn't attack us immediately but retreated to the center of the room. It seems the beating it got from Seven earlier left a heavy toll on it, but what happened next didn't make any sense in the slightest

It approached the central crystal then, as if it's the most normal thing in the world to do, dug it's fangs into it.

Is it absorbing the energy from the glassume?

Its fur glows as it slowly grew larger and larger. This doesn't look good

"Seven, hurry! We have to get out of here before it finishes replenishing it's energy! "

" it injured your leg…"

"eh?...um…seven?"

He closed his eyes, put a hand on his knee and pushed himself up.

" that's it. I'm killing you for real this time" his eyes opened, turning white as the blue light overflowed from them

" ROOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR" the beast's roar shock the floor as it made an electro sphere inside its mouth, it's color told about the concentrated energy used in it. this attack is different than the previous ones

" NO YOU WON'T!!!!!!!" Seven took off running, shattering the ground underneath every step he made.

The Verta launched its concentrated electro sphere right at him. Seven jumped forward catching it with his hand

" THIS IS FOR YOU!!YOU DAMNED GIANT CAT!!!!!!!" he throw the sphere, but Verta jumped aside avoiding it

" ROAAAARRRR!!!!" Seven was left in the air defenseless to its upcoming attack. He tried to guard but got blown through the room hitting the wall behind me

"SEVEN!!" the dust cloud made vision impossible

On the other side Verta began to dash our way

"YOU FUKING GIANT CAT!!!!!!" the shout came through the dust cloud, it seems Seven is fine if he is able to yell like that

I froze in my place as I was about to stand, something flew at an incredible speed

'my head…I almost lost my head'

Seven had taken my spear and threw it with all his might, turning it into a speed of sound missile, but Verta was able to dodge it.

I have to get out of here! This fight is becoming way too crazy for me!

"HUUUH!!!!!???? WHAT'S WRONG YOU _è 4à_ _ç6 64 u_ç pkl ,ùlp ^ ùo |[çà àç'( "é(é!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Seven stepped forward, his intensely angry expression didn't ease one bit and blood covered his face.

I turn to look at Verta that stopped in its place after my spear almost penetrated it. contrary to what I thought the beast didn't evade the hit completely and suffered a light wound to its left. The collar on its neck got damaged and fell to the ground.
