Keeping the Marquis's Secret

The Marquis and the five other participants stared at me in shock as I ravaged through the dinner table like an animal.

My stomach rumbled as I tore off chicken legs and brought them to my mouth. The juicy meat melting in my mouth as my pleasure levels went through the roof. I couldn't control my hunger. I haven't ate in days after all. The events of the two parts to the exam flashed in my mind like a nightmare.

A noodle escaped my mouth as I reached out to grab a sausage. None of the noble men in front of me ate. I looked at them in awe as my mouth dribbled with the mix of chicken, noodles, and cake. My mouth was not discriminating against savory or sweet. Cake and chips mixed alike.

I was a commoner after all. I could hear my parents saying in my head.

"What are you going to do? Just fucking watch all that free food? Stuff yourself! Even if you feel like you're going to throw up make space in some part of yourself for more food!"

My mental state and sanity disappeared as I continued to eat what was in front of me. The table of food blurred as I grabbed and ate whatever was in front of me. A second later a scream filled my ears. I snapped out of my drunken stupor and looked at Vercifus who was sitting in front of me. His hand was in my mouth as I chewed. He glared as I spit out his hand.

Lord above I've managed to almost start engaging in cannibalism from my immense obsession with the food. Vercifus had a large bite mark on his hand. In disgust he desperately tries to rub it off. I mumbled with the food in my mouth.

"Sowwy Vefcifuth."

Vercifus glared at me as the Marquis chuckled at the end of the table.

"Are you truly that hungry Charla?"

I nodded as I reached over to the other side of the table. I then plucked a cherry from the ice cream and plopped it in my mouth. I then grabbed the whipped cream and filled my mouth with it. I was seconds away from bleeding whipped cream from my nose and eyes.

Despite the amount of food that I had consumed I was still hungry. Suddenly I stopped eating as a realization hit me. Whipped cream dribbled down my chin as I wiped it away with the sleeve of my shirt.

What if this eating was the third part of the exam. I stood up as I looked at the Marquis. My mouth was still full as I struggled to swallow all the food. The front of my coat covered in food stains. Once I swallowed the food in my mouth I then said.

"Mr. Marquis is this food another trial in the Royal Knight Exam?"

The Marquis widened his eyes in shock before exploding into a fit of laughter. His silver hair bouncing as he slammed the table wile laughing. I stood clueless as I unsheathes my sword and started looking around me.

Where were the enemies? Are they small sprites or fairies in the food? Was the food poisoned? That must be it!

I quickly put my sword back and prepared two of my fingers. I'm sorry mom and dad but I need to throw up all of the food that I have just eaten in order to come back home alive.

I then inserted my two fingers in my mouth as I struggled to make myself throw up. If the noble participants were disgusted before they sure were dying of disgust right now. Their handsome faces were twisted beyond compare as their mouths dropped open. Adriius threw up into his handkerchief. The Marquis then yelled out.

"Stop it Charla! This isn't a third part of the exam! I already told you that will happen in another two weeks! Lord above why are you so troublesome."

I wiped my two fingers on the table and sat back down with my face flushed. I placed my face in my hands.

Lord above please get someone to dig up a hole in the ground that I can put my head in ostrich style. Please kill me and free me from my embarrassment. Please!

I can't even face my competitors anymore as a normal human being. For the rest of the meal the seven of us sat around the food in silence. Some of us felt awe, others felt amusement, and others felt disgust. And one particular mother fucker called Charla felt like horse shit.
