I’m In Charge of SCP

Chapter 9: I am a toaster

As an SCP fan, Zhang Jue certainly knows how generous the conditions are offered by the Foundation.

This means that he has almost the power second only to the O5 Council and can access most of the Foundation's information, which is enough to show the Foundation's attitude towards him.

He doesn't know the reason, but what is certain is that the Foundation has asked him, and the request is not small.

   This is a bit interesting.

The Foundation even has the black technology of restarting the world, so there are any problems that can't be solved.

Zhang Jue couldn't think of it, and he didn't want to think about it.

To be honest, joining the foundation actually suits him.

If you want to strengthen yourself and return to the original world, starting with the Foundation is undoubtedly the best way.

Since joining the foundation is a mutually beneficial thing, he doesn't bother to care about so much.

The next day, Zhang Jue went to visit SCP-053 as scheduled.

Seeing Zhang Jue, the little girl was very happy. Zhang Jue taught her some tricks, and the two played for an afternoon.

When the staff on the site met Zhang Jue, they would respectfully yell: "Hello, consultant Zhang."

Obviously, webmaster Yang Wenbai has notified Zhang Jue about joining the foundation. Everyone knows this new consultant and knows that he is the hottest figure on site14.

In the evening, Zhang Jue came to the roof to watch the scenery.

Site14 is built in the suburbs, far away from the urban area. It is a different feeling to see the sunset from here.

   "I'm in high spirits."

A female voice came from behind him, and there was some dissatisfaction between the words.

Zhang Jue did not turn his head back: "Ah, let's not tell you, sometimes it's a burden to be handsome, and beautiful women will follow you wherever you go."

Yang Xue's cheeks were reddish, and he snorted.

"What are you doing in the containment area, not just to see Shirley."

For some reason, Yang Xue didn't call that little girl 053 anymore.

"I said I missed you, believe it or not." Zhang Jue gave a smirk.

"Do not believe."

"Oh? Why?" Yang Xue's answer was categorical, which made Zhang Jue curious.

Yang Xue looked at him: "You seem to be a fool, but in fact, everything you say and everything you do is very purposeful. It is unlikely that you will be in such a dangerous place because of a woman. ."

"Those who know me, too, Dr. Yang." Zhang Jue snapped his fingers, "You tell me, I actually came here to do an experiment."

   "What experiment?"

Zhang Jue showed a [DATA EXPUNGED] look: "You'll know when you come."

The two walked through the containment area all the way to the E3 area.

Most of the contained here are Euclid-level anomalies.

There are about four main classifications of the project by the Foundation, safe, Euclid, Keter, and Thaumiel. Their detailed introduction is not shown here. We only need to explain briefly based on the famous box test.

   For an abnormal item.

If you lock it into the box and put it aside, and nothing bad happens, then it may be Safe.

If you lock it in the box and put it aside, and you are not sure what will happen, then it may be Euclid.

If you lock it in the box and put it aside, it can easily escape, then it may be Keter.

If it is a box, then it may be Thaumiel.

Euclid level abnormalities may not be very dangerous, but they usually have a lot of uncertainty.

Yang Xue doesn't know what experiment Zhang Jue will do.

Although Zhang Jue's current authority is very high, because of the 682 incident, all the experiments currently done on the site14 site have to go through multiple rounds of evaluation.

The two were walking all the way in the corridor. After a certain corner, Zhang Jue finally stopped outside the door of a certain containment room.

He first entered his fingerprint, then entered the password, opened the door of the room, and pointed to the contents.

Yang Xue was shocked: "Do you want to use ‘I’ to do experiments?"

  ...

Hello, this is SCP-426, and I must introduce it like this to avoid confusion.

I am an ordinary toaster that can toast slices of bread after powering on, but when any human mentions me, they will subconsciously use the first person.

Despite many attempts, I have not yet found a way to speak or write information about me in the third person.

After I stay around an individual for two months, the individual will begin to think that they are also a toaster. Unless they are prevented by external forces, these people will eventually hurt themselves seriously by trying to imitate my standard functions.

I was given as a gift to a couple of newlyweds, and I did not find any cards or identification marks on my box.

About two months after this house received me, firefighters arrived here due to a fire on the circuit.

The hostess died of an electric shock because she tried to swallow an entire electrical socket, and the other two victims died together shortly before the fire broke out.

Her mother-in-law swallowed nearly 10 kilograms of bread and died of internal bleeding. Her husband died of excessive blood loss after trying to [harmony] with me.

The only survivor is the old man who is already in a severely malnourished state. He claimed that he inserted some slices of bread a week ago and was still waiting for the toasted bread to pop out.

After the police noticed my anomalous ability, I was confiscated by the Foundation, and all the affected officers received Class-C amnestics.

Later, I was taken back to the facility by the Foundation and conducted many experiments. Finally, I was placed in a sealed room without any surveillance equipment or windows.

The door leading to my room must be affixed with a label that is completely unrelated to my number and characteristics to prevent accidental spread of my main effect.

Only the staff of level 3 and above can know my existence and some of my characteristics.

The assigned personnel must be rotated every month to avoid being affected by my secondary effects, and a mental assessment is mandatory at the end of each month.

There are indeed no staff members affected, and they can be reassigned to me at least four months after the last rotation.

Any employees affected by me must receive Class-C amnestics and transfer to other sites. UU reading www. uukanshu.com

Finally, let me emphasize again, I am really just a toaster.

When Zhang Jue opened the door, I lay down on the table.

The woman next to him said, "Do you want to use ‘I’ to do experiments?"

"Right." Zhang Jue walked up to me, "I just want to try it with SCP-426."

Hearing what Zhang Jue said, the woman was taken aback.

"You can actually describe me in the third person?!"

Zhang Jue nodded: "Yes, I can. I tried it in the site. I will not be affected by SCP-426. I came here today to confirm whether this immunity will be affected by distance. At present, it does not seem to be."

He patted my shell heavily: "SCP-426, your uncle!" Then he said proudly: "Look, I'm the first person who can scold it."

The woman covered her forehead, seeming to feel speechless at what he did.

   Zhang Jue laughed.

The woman sighed: "Then this is considered a successful experiment, what are you going to do next?"

"No, no, no." Zhang Jue shook his head, "At present, it can only prove that Shirley and the bread maker are not effective for me. There are too few samples. If possible, I would like to find another project to experiment."

"Which project?" The woman asked subconsciously.

Zhang Jue showed a [DATA EXPUNGED] expression: "Dr. Yang, do you know where SCP166 (Succubus Girl) is contained?"

  SCP166?

The woman was stunned, and shouted: "Rogue!" Then she walked out of my room.

Zhang Jue hurriedly chased it out: "Dr. Yang, you believe me, I want to talk to her, really just talk to the heart—"
