I'll Tell You Every Day

After the play ended, the children went down the stage to join their parents. They all had lunch together before the little ones ran around the school, enjoying the rest of the festival. Liu Jin was in charge of buying snacks and gifts for Daiyu while Zhihao won prizes for her. The boy was surprisingly very athletic.

By the end of the day, all three children fell asleep inside the Wang family car. Not wanting to disturb their peaceful slumber, Zhihao and Liu Jin's parents decided to have the boys sleep over instead. Since tomorrow was a Sunday, the children could sleep in as much as they want.

The next day, Zhihao and Liu Jin spent the entire day playing video games while Daiyu stayed inside the room with them, sometimes drawing, sometimes watching them play.

When Monday came around, Wang Jing was called in by the academy due to a complaint. Apparently, Daiyu had gotten herself in a fight.

Wang Jing raised a brow.

"A fight?"

Butler Tang nodded.

" Did she win?"

Butler Tang nodded again.

"She won by a landslide."

Wang Jing huffed proudly.

"Good." He then stood up and prepared to leave the mansion.

Meanwhile, Daiyu sat inside the principal's office with bruises on her arms. In front of her, Zhenzhen was crying hysterically, her hair disheveled, clothes torn, and her front tooth missing.

"D-Daiyu, can you tell me what happened?" The principal asked nervously. While he didn't want to offend Wang Jing, he didn't want to offend the Zhaos either.

Daiyu remained silent as she sat properly, her fists clenched, and her legs closed. She was waiting for her Jin-gege to come fetch her.

Seeing that the child refused to answer him, the principal decided to wait for Wang Jing to arrive instead. However, before the old man came, Liu Jin and Zhihao arrived first.

"Xiao Yu!" Liu Jin called her name worriedly.

"Jin-gege!" Daiyu quickly hopped off her chair and ran into his arms, burying her head onto his chest.

"Xiao Yu, what happened?" He asked but she remained silent.

"S-she hit me! Daiyu is a mean bully!" Zhenzhen answered in between sobs.

"I am not! Zhenzhen started it!" Daiyu bit her lip, trying her best to hold back her tears.

"Xiao Yu, can you tell me what happened?" Liu Jin patiently asked her again.

Daiyu looked down. She didn't want to hide things from her Jin-gege but even she knew that what she did was wrong. Nevertheless, she couldn't refuse her Jin-gege and decided to speak.

"Zhenzhen said that Jin-gege was hers."

The principal sighed. So it was like that.

"Daiyu, its not nice to be selfish. You have to share your friends." He explained.

"Jin-gege is not Daiyu's friend! Jin-gege is Daiyu's husband!"

"E-eh?"

"And and Xiao Nuan-jiejie said that husbands are not something you can share with others!"

"Well, she's right about that." Zhihao commented.

The principal began sweating.

"Still you can't hit other children because of that."

"I didn't! Zhenzhen said that that Daiyu was lying! She said that Jin-gege was not my husband because"

"Because?" The principal urged her to continue.

"Because she's a big ugly fatty!" Zhenzhen finished for her.

Daiyu bit her lip hard. She didn't want to cry. But those words had hurt her deeply.

"S-so what happened next?"

"Daiyu called me ugly too! So I pulled her hair! And then, she she tossed me to the ground!"

Liu Jin had taught her that move. He had been teaching Daiyu basic self-defense skills that he had learned from his training. And today, Daiyu showed him that she had learned from him very well.

"Wow. Good job, Xiao Yu!" He smiled at her proudly and Daiyu blushed.

"Uh man, wrong time to compliment her!" Zhihao commented.

When Zhenzhen saw that Liu Jin was ignoring her, she threw another fit.

"You're so selfish Daiyu! And you're a big mean bully!"

"No I'm not! I know how to share! You just can't have my Jin-gege! B-but you can have Zhihao-gege instead."

"HEY!"

"I don't want him!" Zhenzhen replied.

"Why not?!" Daiyu complained.

"Yeah, why not?!!!"

"Zhihao-gege is a really cool big brother! He's Daiyu's hero!" She defended Zhihao.

"X-Xiao Yu!" Zhihao teared up upon hearing her words.

"If you like him so much, then why don't you take him instead?!" Zhenzhen retorted.

"B-because Jin-gege is more handsome!"

Liu Jin blushed.

"Hey, hey, hey! I'm right here! I can hear you!!!"

The principal sighed. Well, judging by the children's narration of events, Zhao Zhenzhen had provoked Daiyu. She had also laid her hands on the child first by pulling her hair. While Daiyu was not completely innocent because she retaliated, he could write this off as self-defense.

He knew that even though the Zhaos were powerful, if he sided with Wang Jing, the old man was more than capable of handling the trouble for him. After all, there were not many people willing to offend Wang Jing.

"Zhenzhen, I need you to apologize to Daiyu."

"Why?!"

"Well, for starters, you can't go around calling people big ugly fatties!" Zhihao chimed in. He didn't like the brat. Only he had the right to call Daiyu fat!

"But I just wanted to befriend Jin!"

"Don't call Jin-gege that!" Daiyu furrowed her brows.

"Why not?!" Zhenzhen gritted her teeth.

"Because I'm Daiyu's fianc." Liu Jin replied.

An arrow struck Daiyu's heart as she watched Liu Jin defending their relationship. Her Jin-gege was so cool!

"Zhenzhen, if you don't apologize, your punishment will be much heavier. Either way, I will have to report this to your father." The principal laid down the verdict.

Upon hearing the principal mention her father, Zhenzhen tensed up. Her father was a very strict man. She knew that if her father catches word of today's events, she would be in very deep trouble.

"P-please don't tell father!"

"I can't do that. It's my duty as the principal."

When she realized that the principal was unrelenting, she turned to beg Daiyu instead.

"Please! Daiyu! Please help me!"

"I don't mind." Daiyu replied.

"Eh? You're forgiving her just like that, Xiao Yu?" Zhihao asked.

Daiyu nodded.

"Life is too short to waste on being angwy."

"Wow. So profound." Zhihao commented.

Liu Jin smiled. They were right. Daiyu's soul really does remember everything including her resolve to live a happier life.

"Good girl." He gently patted her head and she giggled.

Just then, a knock came. The principal stood up and opened the door and Zhenzhen's father came striding in.

"General Zhao." The principal bowed and the man nodded his head.

Upon seeing his daughter in a disheveled state, the man's earlier calmness disappeared.

"What happened?! Who did this to you?!" He angrily asked Zhenzhen.

Wanting to save herself, Zhenzhen quickly pointed her finger at Daiyu.

Seeing the man angrily face Daiyu, Liu Jin and Zhihao quickly shielded her behind their backs on instinct.

"General Zhao." Liu Jin greeted.

The man's eyes widened upon hearing the familiar voice.

"Ah Jin!"

Liu Jin smiled. This man was one of their mentors during their training.

"Hi old man!" Zhihao greeted him informally.

"You brat." General Zhao chuckled.

"So? What happened here?" He asked.

Liu Jin then recounted to him what Daiyu and Zhenzhen had told them.

After hearing the story, General Zhao turned to face his daughter and saw her crying. He sighed. He knew that his daughter was terrified of him but he couldn't help it. It wasn't his intention to be mean but if you had a brat for a daughter you would be strict too.

"Zhenzhen, apologize now."

"B-but fathe

General Zhao gave her a look and she clammed up immediately.

"S-sorry, Daiyu."

Daiyu nodded.

Satisfied with her apology, the man turned to face the principal.

"Principal Huang, I hope you don't mind but we'll be leaving ahead."

"Not at all, not at all." In fact, the principal was thankful that they were leaving already.

With that, General Zhao nodded towards Liu Jin and Zhihao before carrying Zhenzhen away.

Not long after that, Wang Jing arrived.

"Grandpaw!" Daiyu quickly ran into his arms and he picked her up.

Upon seeing the bruises on her arms, he frowned.

"Grandpaw! Daiyu Daiyu threw Zhenzhen to the floor and and she lost her tooth!" Daiyu proceeded to excitedly recount everything to her grandfather and the old man could not help but laugh. What a feisty little girl.

After settling things with the principal, they left as well and Wang Jing took the boys along with him.

"Ah Jin, call your parents up. Tell them we're having a feast tonight at the mansion. Zheng boy, tell your parents too."

"A feast?" Daiyu tilted her head to one side.

"Mmm. To celebrate Daiyu's first victory."

"Uh first victory? Is the old man expecting Daiyu to win more fights?!" Zhihao commented but Liu Jin was in full agreement with Wang Jing.

"Grandfather Wang, let's buy a cake too." He suggested.

"You're right!"

"Hey! Wait!! This is not normal!!!"

"Grandpaw! Ice cream too!"

"Waaaiiit!!!"
