Chapter 9: New Script

“Yes, it’s like this. Something uncontrollable happened in our world, causing some chaos. Someone discovered that something was wrong here and took the opportunity to sneak in. They wanted to change the fates of the two protagonists, but that would never do. Therefore, your mission is to protect our protagonist. You can’t let him be affected by others. You can’t let someone with ulterior motives take advantage of the loophole and change his personality and fate.” The soft voice’s logic was a little messy.

Ning Wan rolled her eyes again. “Stop! I’m sorry. I’m just an ordinary person. No, no, no. I’m just an unlucky person. I don’t have the ability to help others. I’m not a savior! From the sound of your voice, you’re still a little kid, right? Little kid, you’ve found the wrong person. Please withdraw and find a suitable candidate again. Don’t waste your time with me.”

“No, it has to be you!” The little kid was anxious.

Ning Wan sighed. “Can’t you sense the existence of another system here?”

“I sensed it and I suppressed it!” The little kid answered very neatly.

“Huh?” Ning Wan was really surprised this time. “You said that you suppressed it?” Ning Wan confirmed again.

“That’s right! It’s a pity that I don’t have enough energy now and can’t chase it out. However, it can’t let you suffer the lightning punishment again at least with me around.” The little kid had a hint of an apology.

Ning Wan could not help but be happy. She had really had enough of the threat of the lightning strike.

“But—” The little kid dragged out its words. “You’ll die if you don’t agree to my request. You won’t be able to fulfill your dream of becoming a rich woman. No one can save you!”

As expected, it was another trap. Ning Wan thought that she had left the wolf’s den, but she had entered the tiger’s den again.

“You, you, you, say it again. What do you want me to do?” She was a little angry.

Even though this new system’s gentle personality was better than the old one, it was probably not long after graduating from kindergarten. Its language expression and logical thinking were clearly not developed yet, and its narrative ability was not ordinarily weak.

Ning Wan finally understood after spending a lot of effort. There was a malfunction in another rich novel causing many people to transmigrate due to some force majeure. They wanted to control the characters they liked, change the plot, break up the male and female protagonists, and pursue their own interests. Her mission was to stop all of this, protect the male and female protagonists, and let lovers unite to maintain peace in this world.

Ning Wan finally sorted it out and could not help but sigh. “But what has this got to do with me? I’m not in your book!”

She was also a transmigrator, okay? She was in a different novel from them!

“You’re in our book! You were originally a supporting role in this book! You’re our male lead’s little aunt!” The little kid said before she could continue.

“Little… Little Aunt?” Ning Wan was no stranger to this form of address. Huo Yuan called her little aunt about 200 times a day.

“That’s right! Our male lead has no parents since he was young. It was his uncle and auntie who raised him. He did not have love even though he was born into a wealthy family. His personality was introverted and melancholic. He might go astray if he had met someone with ulterior motives before he grew up. You understand, it takes only one thought to become either a Buddha or a Demon!” The little child sighed softly.

“You even know about the idiom. Impressive,” Ning Wan teased.

“Our male lead and female lead are a match made in heaven. Those transmigrators are all bent on ruining this marriage. They don’t have good intentions. This world will be doomed if these people who know the plot get to know our male lead and female lead first and destroy their relationship. Therefore, you, a golden supporting role, must take on the heavy responsibility of saving this world!” The little kid’s tone was solemn and firm. It would probably be clenching its fist tightly right now if it had one!

“Wait, wait! You said that your male lead has no parents since he was young? His Uncle and Aunt raised him? He does not have love even though he was born into a rich family?” Ning Wan was suspicious.

“That’s right!” was the child’s reply to every question that Ning Wan asked.

“Why does it sound so much like our Huo Yuan?” Ning Wan muttered.
