Chapter 30: Untying The Rope

Chi Nan was wrapped in a towel and wore sunglasses. He looked at Ning Wan and Huo Yuan, who were laughing and playing not far away, and a cold smile appeared on his face.

He would not have used such an ultimate method if he had not been forced.

Survival was not easy. Who wouldn’t do anything to achieve their goal?

He could only blame Ning Wan’s status.

Ning Wan woke up from the cold.

The moment her brain woke up, Ning Wan’s heart sank.

“Little Glutinous Rice!” She called out to her system.

“You’re finally awake. I discovered a bug in my system. I actually can’t wake you up when you are in danger. I would have tried to wake you up by the original system and let it strike you with lightning if you stayed unconscious!” Little Glutinous Rice complained.

“Thank you!” Ning Wan could not help but be glad that she woke up before the unlucky original system.

She realized that her hands were tied behind her back and her ankles were also tied.

“I was kidnapped?” Ning Wan asked.

“It’s you guys. Huo Yuan is behind you and hasn’t woken up yet,” Little Glutinous Rice reminded kindly.

Ning Wan struggled and bumped into Huo Yuan behind her. Huo Yuan snorted softly.

Ning Wan tried her best to adjust her posture and sit up. She sized up her surroundings. They were tattered and covered in dust. Huo Yuan and her were still wearing swimming suits. No wonder it was so cold. It should be getting dark soon from the faint light coming through the tall window.

Huo Yuan’s small body curled up into a ball.

“Huo Yuan, Huo Yuan?” Ning Wan called out softly and nudged him.

Huo Yuan also woke up. “Young Aunt, Young Aunt.”

He sounded like he was crying and was terrified.

“Don’t cry. Don’t be afraid. I’m here,” Ning Wan comforted him softly.

“Are you cold? Come and lean in my arms. Let’s warm each other up.” Ning Wan tried her best to help Huo Yuan.

The two of them spent a long time before finally letting Huo Yuan sit in Ning Wan’s arms. Huo Yuan sobbed softly. “Young Aunt, what should we do? Will we die?”

“No! Your Little Uncle will definitely save us,” Ning Wan said firmly.

She was certain of this. With Huo Ce’s personality, once he discovered that the two of them were missing, he would find them even if he had to dig three feet into the ground. Even if he didn’t look for her, he would look for Huo Yuan!

“Young Aunt, I’m a little afraid.” He was only a five-year-old child after all. Huo Yuan’s head was in Ning Wan’s arms.

“Don’t be afraid. Young Aunt is here. Let’s think of a way together. You’re a man. Think about the heroic stories you’ve read. Our Huo Yuan wants to be a hero too, right?”

Children were very easy to coax, especially a little boy like Huo Yuan who had a heroic plot.

Ning Wan’s mind raced. The kidnappers were probably here for her and Huo Yuan’s identities. In that case, they would be asking for ransom. After a few hours, Huo Ce should already know that something had happened to them. That would be much easier.

“Little Glutinous Rice, do you know who did it?” Ning Wan asked Little Glutinous Rice.

“I don’t know either. I reckon it’s because of the book transmigrator,” Little Glutinous Rice said angrily.

“Young Aunt, I’m a little cold.” Huo Yuan shrank back.

Ning Wan felt that Huo Yuan’s body was a little hot through the thin and dry swimsuit. She could not help but curse inwardly. She could not let Huo Yuan catch a cold.

Waiting like this was no solution. They had to save themselves while waiting for help.

“Huo Yuan, come, turn around. I’ll see if I can untie the rope on your hand.” She had to find something to do to distract Huo Yuan. She couldn’t let him focus on his physical discomfort even if he already had a fever.

Huo Yuan hurriedly struggled to get up again. He adjusted his posture and sat with his back facing Ning Wan.

Ning Wan tried to untie the rope in Huo Yuan’s hand with her teeth.

The rope was very thick and tight. Ning Wan tried a few times and felt that her teeth were about to fall out.

She could not help but curse the kidnappers in her heart.

“Young Aunt, are you tired? Rest for a while. Why don’t I untie you first?” Huo Yuan really felt sorry for her.

Such a good child was really heart wrenching.

“It’s okay, I’m not tired. It’s just that the rope is a little thick. I need some time.” Ning Wan tried her best to move the muscles on her face and threw herself into untying the rope again.

Hard work paid off. Ning Wan was so tired that she was sweating profusely. She finally used her teeth to untie the rope on Huo Yuan’s hand.

Ning Wan was so tired that she panted. She felt that her front teeth were about to leave her.

As soon as Huo Yuan’s hands were free, he came to untie Ning Wan’s hands before he could untie the rope on his feet.
