I Got Reincarnated As A Prodigal K-POP Superstar

"Is he up yet?" Matt-hyung said. He was in our dorm's living room, trying to get everyone ready to head to the company's salon for our hair and make-up schedule before MAMA tonight.

We had a very long rehearsal this morning and were asked to take a break in the afternoon. But we were supposed to go to our salon at 4PM.

"Nope. Still in bed." Zee replied as he played on his phone.

Matt-hyung grunted and got his phone. "I'll go wake him up. YOU need to get in the car."

He then turned to everyone in the room who were minding their own business. "All of you. NOW."

They all g.r.o.a.n.e.d and started getting their bags and heading for the company's cars.

I could hear footsteps heading for my room while I was putting on my sweater which was the last thing I needed before getting ready. The door opened showing an angry Matt leaning on the door.

"I'm glad you finally decided to get ready." He sarcastically said.

"Sorry, hyung. I was feeling a little under the weather earlier." I replied while grabbing my backpack.

He then placed his arm around me. "Let's just go."

I nodded at him before we headed for the car.

To be honest, I was still not doing well today. First, it was Lisa. Then, I had Yuna to deal with. And now, I have IU-noona to think about too. What am I going to do?

"Huh? Were you saying something?" I asked as I turn to look at Jiwoo who was also getting his hair done just like me.

"I asked if you wanted anything to eat before we go to the event." He said while he emphasized each word carefully.

"Oh… umm… something light would do. Umm… maybe some chicken shawarma?" I asked.

"Ooh! That sounds like a great idea!" Zee who was also getting his hair done said.

The manager stood up and said, "Shawarma it is. Anything else?"

"Nah, we're good manager-nim. Get something for yourself too while you're at it." Jiwoo responded.

The manager happily took the offer and went his way.

Jiwoo then turned to me and asked, "Are you okay, hyung? You've been out of it lately."

"I'm fine. I just have a lot on my mind right now." I answered.

Dominic came over and leaned on the make-up counter while crossing his arms. He raised one of his eyebrows and said, "Let me guess. It's about the two trainee girls and a sunbaenim. Am I right?"

I shushed him and said, "Not so loud, Dom! Someone'll hear you."

"Who?" Dom asked.

"I think he means us." Jaehwa-noona who was my hairstylist said.

Dom chuckled and said, "Come on, noona. You've been with us since ever, and you've been handling JayB's hair and make-up from the start. You think he doesn't trust you?"

She rolled her eyes and said, "Such a smooth talker, Dom-ah. And you're probably right. I've seen that look anywhere. It's a girl problem."

"Don't start with me you two." I said.

Dom raised both his hands and walked away.

Jaehwa-noona just giggled. "You know JayB-ah, you just have to go with for someone that makes you happy for the rest of your life. Not someone who gives you temporary happiness. Okay?"

"Thanks, noona." I replied sincerely.

That actually helped. I'd rather go for someone I want to spend the rest of my life with rather than someone who I can have for now.

A few minutes later, PD-nim came over.

"Hey boys! You ready?" He said. There were people behind him bringing in a few energy drinks and some paper bags.

"Yes, PD-nim!" We replied.

He smiled and motioned the men to give us the stuff they were carrying. "These are for you. The perfume is a gift from me. I know these are your favorites. Also, the drinks are for tonight since it's going to be a long one."

"Thank you, PD-nim!" We happily replied.

Some of us stood up and hugged him. For us, he was like our second father. After he gave us the gifts and exchanging a few words, he left to go to the next couple of groups who will also be there at MAMA tonight.

The stylist came in and rolled in our clothes for tonight's red carpet.

"Alright! Those who are done with their hair and make-up can go change now." Our manager who was in charge with our clothes and hair said.

"Wait. Aren't we going to wear our performance clothes for tonight?" Yo Chul-hyung asked.

The manager shook his head and said, "Not yet. Your clothes for the performance is a surprise. There is a segment where you can change your clothes so don't worry about it too much."

We just nodded in response and went to get changed.

"That was actually good." I said.

"Thanks, hyung." Jiwoo said.

"Matt-hyung, you're up." I said.

He nodded and started singing his parts. I corrected some of his flats and sharps. If we don't do it now, it'll be harder to do so later on. Especially when we're already dancing on stage. You have to control your breathing and how you release your voice. This is where the years of training come to life.

"Woah! You're in top form today, hyung!" Jiwoo complimented.

Matt-hyung shyly scratched the back of his head. "Not really. I'm actually very nervous."

"You're not alone." I also agreed with him.

Who wouldn't be, right? It's the first major award show that we're performing and we were possibly winning an award.

It's really nerve-wrecking.

"Don't worry, hyungs. You guys will do well. You always have, and you probably always will." He said.

"Thanks, Woo-ah." Matt-hyung said.

"Well… as long as JayB-hyung doesn't think about girls then we'll be fine." He continued.

And that earned him a smack at the back of his head.

"Over here, Alpha!" One of the photographers from the local news said.

We were heading towards MAMA's photo wall and were about to be interviewed by the host Song Seung-heon. While heading there, there were some photographers that were snapping their pictures at the idol groups on the red carpet heading there.

"Alright, Alpha. Move on to the next batch of photographers." One of the coordinators who was kneeling said.

We did as what she said and went to the next marked position. The group ahead of us was EXO. Before we got to our next position, they were still there having their photos taken.

When they saw us, they jogged towards us and hugged us. It was because we were in one of the shows together this year and that allowed us to be closer to them. Some of them even brought us over to the spot that we were supposed to have our pictures taken. In the end, instead of a solo shot for the group, we had a picture together with the EXO sunbaenims.

Before we could head to the waiting area for the interview with the host, there was someone who tapped my shoulder and tried to get my attention.

"Jungkooki? Jimin-ah?" I said.

"Hyung! Sorry about last time." Jungkook said as he hugged me.

I smiled and patted his back. "You're a man now. Quit hugging other men."

"Ah! Just give me this one for today!" We all laughed.

The rest of the members of BTS joined in and hugged us tightly. This scene made me tear up a little.

"JayB-ah, are you crying?" RM-hyung asked.

"Of course not. I just laughed so hard that it made me tear up." I lied.

I really missed this guys so much and being at the center of that hug earlier just brought back some awesome and some painful memories with them.

"By the way, the song you gave us is awesome! I need to get some pointers from you." Suga-hyung said.

I just chuckled in response. If you only knew who the original writer of that song is, you'd probably be kicking my b.u.t.t right now.

"We should treat you over some dinner sometime soon. Will that be okay?" Jin-hyung asked as he put his arm around my neck.

I gave them a thumbs up. "That would be awesome."

"Hyung, we're up next." Zee called out to me.

I released myself from Jin-hyung's arm and waved at the group before going with my members.

"So next we have a group that has blown and surpassed previous rookie records. I am a fan of them actually. Help me welcome up here, the Super Rookie Group, Alpha." Seung-heon-sunbae announced.

We slowly made our way up the small stage for the red carpet and were ready to be interviewed.

I then gave the signal. "1… 2… 3…"

"Take the lead! Hello! We are Alpha!" our greeting earned a lot of screams from the fans.

Even the host acknowledged it. "Wow! You guys are really popular for a rookie group. And I must say that I personally, am a huge fan."

We then decided to hug him.

He then joked, "I can now die happy."

This then made all of us laugh really hard. I for one really am fascinated with this guy.

"So… is it true that you guys will perform tonight?" He asked.

They all turned to look at me. Of course, we were already briefed about it earlier and were allowed to disclose this information now.

I smiled at the audience and said, "Yes. It's actually an honor to be asked to perform for the audience tonight in this special stage."

"Wow! I'm getting excited just by thinking about it! It's actually your first performance on a major award show, am I right?" He asked another question.

We all nodded in response.

"It's amazing that we get to witness it tonight. Can you describe your performance in three ways?" He asked.

I gave the microphone to Dominic and Zee who were the mood-makers of the group and let them have a chance to speak up.

As soon as Zee got the mic, he then gave the first hint. "You have to look forward to our performance. It actually has a 'Dark' concept to it."

Dominic then shared his thoughts. "It's 'S.e.xy'."

When he said that and emphasized the 'S' sound the girls in the crowd went wild that we couldn't even hear the host.

"Wow! The crowd is really excited. Alright. What's the last hint?" He continued.

Dominic nodded at Zee and together they answered, "Animal-like."

This made the crowd go Ooh.

"That sounds so intriguing and mysterious. It makes me excited actually. Thank you so much for your time, Alpha. We look forward to your performance." He sent us off.

I then got the mic. "This has been…"

"Alpha! Thank you!" The rest of the members answered.

We then got off the stage and answered some of the questions from the new reporters. It was the usual questions. Comparing our success and all from other KPOP stars. We told them that this isn't a war and we're actually friends who are just trying to get by in this industry.

This disappointed a lot of the reporters because they couldn't squeeze out something that they wanted.

After that, we headed inside and waited for the event to start.

I sighed deeply before someone grabbed my phone from me.

"I'm keeping this until you get a hold of yourself." Matt-hyung said while holding my phone over to my face.

I tried to rebut. "But hyung…"

"No buts! The cameras are pointing at us so we have to be careful how we present ourselves. So until you promise to stop reading the news articles from yesterday's VLIVE then I'll give it back." He nagged.

I sighed and nodded in response. He then gave me back my phone and I went to check the status of businesses instead.

After 30 minutes of waiting, the show finally started. EXO, f(x), SNSD and Shinee were all on stage starting the show up. They did a cover from our song called 'Highlight' which was really a amazing!

They performed it so well that even I was amazed. I never knew that they could dance really well like that.

After they performed, the hosts for this year's MAMA was already standing at the side of the stage. I could see Park Shin Hye-sunbae and Kim Soohyun-sunbae on stage. They greeted everyone which earned a huge cheer from the crowd.

As soon as the show started, the place turned vibrant and loud. So this is what it feels like to be on an award show that's as big as this.

The first group to performer was, BIG BANG from YG entertainment and they performed their greatest hits in this world. Then they ended it with "Bang Bang Bang" which was really intense with all the explosions and pyrotechnics. They were really giving their best which pumped me up. I couldn't wait to perform anymore.

The host then came up and gave a teaser video for the upcoming groups that were about to perform and as well as who were nominated for the awards. It was really fun and exciting to watch.

"Tonight! We have a special surprise for everyone." Shin Hye-sunbae announced.

"That's right. SM Entertainment has something to announce. And for that, please turn your attentions to the screen." Soohyun-hyung said.

The screen then presented a trailer. It was just glimpses of different face parts of different girls. Then it turned all bright and a candy land was shown where their backs were shown. Then a familiar song played shortly and then it ended.

Wait?

Isn't that? That song?

I gave that to them about 2 months ago.

Seriously?

I thought…

Just then Shin Hye-sunbae announced. "Ladies and gentlemen. SM Entertainment proudly presents its new girl group. Red Velvet!"

I stood up and yelled. "WHAT?!"

Everyone around me turned to look at me in surprise. I slowly sat back down in my embarrassed state.

I thought they were debuting next year?

Just then when the screen showed Red Velvet. On the bottom left corner of the screen was the title of the song, the name 'Red Velvet' and the composer and producer. Realizing what I just saw, my jaw dropped.

Everyone then turned to me with questioning looks and raised eyebrows.

SEVENTEEN was beside us. Hoshi then turned to me. "Hyung, did you write that for them?"

I just slowly nodded to respond from my shocked state. I still can't believe that they would debut at this time of the year.

The rookies were near the stage since it was our first time. The organizers wanted us to experience our first massive award show well.

When Joy saw me below the stage, she winked at me. Everyone who saw where it was directed at, either laughed, shook their heads or we shocked. I just pretended not to see it and clapped.

"Hey! Did she just wink at you?" Jimin who was sitting behind me whispered to me.

"What? I don't think so." I replied.

V who was not ready to let this go then whispered, "Waa… first, it was IU-noona. Now, you have a rookie crushing on you. Please share some tips."

He patted my back which made me chuckle and shake my head. "Sure. Make sure you sing better next time."

V harrumphed at my response which made everyone around us laugh.

"Hey, hyung. Are you together with IU-noona yet?" Jungkook asked.

"Of course not. I'm giving you a fair headstart." I teased.

He lightly punched me while I laughed.

They performed the song really well. I never thought that making Yeri debut earlier than expected would make Red Velvet sound even better.

As soon as they finished performing, the audience applauded really loud. I knew that they'd be a hit as soon as they'd debut. They were really popular in the previous world too. . It was really a beautiful surprise which lead to praises and cheers that they rightfully deserved. "Happiness" really sounded well with five voices instead of four. It was worth the fight.

They went back stage and probably towards their dressing room.

The next to perform was NU'EST with a ballad which slowed the pace of the show. It was good that they did so as well.

Since it's NU'EST now, we're after the next 2 performers.

"Alpha, let's go." One of our managers called us.

We stood up and headed for the dressing room where our stylists and make-up artists were waiting.

On the way there, we met a few of our sunbaes and some groups that were about to debut. It was fun to look at some familiar faces. There were some that I didn't recognize.

Is it possible that there will be groups that might debut and did not exist in the previous world?

I guess I'll find out soon.

"Let's hurry boys. We've got about 15 minutes." The manager hurried us.

Then he turned to look at me. "And oh! JayB-ssi, there's someone who wants to talk to you in the next dressing room. She says she wants to talk to you alone."

When the members heard that they give me these weird looks.

"Another girl, hyung?" Zee said before bumping his foot on one of the stage crates.

Serves him right.

I chuckled at the sight. "You guys go ahead. I'll be there in a minute."

"Ooh… a quick one, huh?" Zee continued to mock while he was rubbing his foot from the pain earlier.

I shook my head and went inside the room. When I entered the room was no one inside.

Did the manager prank me?

"Hello?" I called out.

I could hear someone creeping behind me so when I felt like this person was just a few feet away, I turned around and yelled, "Boo!"

She fell to the floor in surprise.

I laughed before helping her up. "Sorry, Sooyoung-ah. I couldn't help myself."

"Ha Ha. Laugh at the poor girl." She said as she took my hand.

I laughed harder. "Are you even a girl?"

"YA! KIM JINBO!" She yelled as she punched me in the gut.

I then stopped laughing and then we both stared at each other before smiling widely at each other.

"Congratulations on your debut, Sooyoung-ah. Or should I call you Joy now?" I said.

"You'd better call me Joy now. And you have to really get used to it." She replied.

We both laughed before she suddenly hugged me.

"Thank you for the song, JayB-ah." She said.

I hugged her back. "You are definitely welcome."

I was about to pull away but she suddenly tightened her grip and gave a kiss on my cheek.

She then whispered closely to my ear. "Now that I'm an idol, will you date me now?"
