I Became a Fanboy of the Villain

Won’t expose the little secret of you sneaking over to sleep with me in the middle of the night.

The evil dragon’s voice sounded from the front. Gesius blinked his eyes, and lowered his head to hold his hand:

“Since you’ve put it like this, then, okay.”

The knight’s tone was as if he were pestered into having no choice, but the strength with which he held his hand was not small.

Bai Zhi’s hand was warm from being held. Without being aware of it, his heart also became sweeter.

“Then you, make sure to hold tight.”

Taking the lead, Bai Zhi walked in front, stepped on the piled-up snow with hesitant steps, and stomped out a deep path for Gesius to travel on.

The system had long slipped away with an excuse and hid in Bai Zhi’s consciousness without coming out. From time to time, he would give his nephew some encouragement:

“The distance remaining of this journey is one thousand five hundred miles, the cute system will be waiting for you at the destination, dear.”

Bai Zhi: “Evil!”

The system coughed and didn’t say anything else. It quickly activated its real-time navigation to give Bai Zhi and Gesius an overview of these large snow mountains.

The Gesius in the original text encountered a blizzard here. The specific details of the situation really hadn’t been described much by the original author. In a story a few ten-thousand words long, only two short words gave them a glimpse into this ordeal.

Extremely sinister.

Unlike the careless Bai Zhi, the system had meticulously calculated the extent of every danger in the script. Upon seeing these few words, its heart still sunk.

In a book, the tenacity of the villain often could often determine this world’s progress. Only in the final climax was it possible for the villain to suffer a fatal blow.

But this world was not the same, the system assessed in its heart. Even though the main storyline of the world was the princess and the prince, the details regarding Gesius were only one corner of the iceberg in the entire book, so what might happen next may not be that bad. But to put it the other way, the system’s materials will forever use the simplest phrases to cover the most important events.

If what the materials gave was “extremely sinister,” then the next events will definitely not be only nine points out of ten.

“The weather is so good ah.” A certain little demon said energetically.

Then the daylight dimmed at a speed visible to the eye, and the whistling winds and the rumble of thunder sounded.

Bai Zhi: “…Sorry I should not have spoken.”

Gesius lifted his eyes to look at the sudden change in the weather for a bit, then immediately strode forward in front of Bai Zhi and stretched out his right arm in a protective posture:

“Something is off about this weather, let’s find somewhere to hide for a bit.”

“Okay.” Hearing this Bai Zhi quietly woke the system: “Uncle, is there anywhere nearby where we can take shelter from the snowstorm?”

The system very quickly finished searching and found a cave entrance. Bai Zhi sighed in relief, purposefully directed Gesius in that direction, and after walking for a few dozen minutes finally arrived at the destination. At the same time, the snowstorm also intensified.

The howling winds outside the cave blew around the fragments of ice, slapped them against the cave wall, and a chilly breeze endlessly rushed inside. Bai Zhi crossed his arms, endlessly stomping his feet where he stood.

“Uncle uncle it’s so cold ah.” The little demon rubbed the tips of his ears that had been frozen red and sniffled.

It was only then that the system that had been busy breaking the flow of the wind remembered: His nephew was very afraid of the cold.

“Don’t worry nephew.” The system immediately said: “In a bit I can give you an electric current–”

The system originally wanted to say ‘in a bit I can try using the electric current to heat up my metal stomach’ to let Bai Zhi warm up. Unexpectedly, before he could even finish a sentence, his nephew’s cabbage was snatched. [1]

Gesius took off his knights’ armor, pulled Bai Zhi into an embrace with one hand, yet he said with a very stiff tone: “The sound of you stomping is too loud, you’re not allowed to be noisy.”

Bai Zhi blinked and cutely made a noise in reply: “…Oh.”

The system who had once again spectated the entire arena of dogs: “…Hm.”

The flash-blinded system gave up the idea of heating itself and continued to do its best at planning escape routes for the two people. Code kept endlessly scrolling across its monitor. When the system inadvertently raised its eyes and glanced at it, it was shocked.

“Nephew! Take Gesius and leave here at once!”

Hearing the urgency in the system’s tone, Bai Zhi opened his mouth a little strangely: “What’s wrong?”

“This snow storm will be followed by an avalanche.” The system spoke very quickly: “Even if you are lucky enough to survive it, the low temperatures and the snowstorm will still consume Gesius.” 

“Gesius is only human, he can’t hold out against this snowstorm.”

The system’s words rang out one after the other in Bai Zhi’s headspace, and he couldn’t help but clench both his hands.

“I understand.”

Gesius’s lips were already turning slightly pale. Bai Zhi pushed him away and under that person’s startled gaze, he covered both his eyes.

“Gesius, I will take you through the snowstorm.”

The clear voice sounded in front of him. Gesius furrowed his brows, saying: “Right now the snowstorm is very large, we can’t pass through it.”

“There will be an avalanche after the snowstorm.” Bai Zhi shook his head, lifted it, and gazed at Gesius with a pair of eyes:

“Do you believe me?”

The evil dragon in front of him had opened its eyes wide, asking the question of whether or not he trusted him with a face full of seriousness.

The words Gesius had planned on using to refuse were suddenly unable to be spoken. He sunk into deep thought for a long time in his original spot before he said vaguely:

“Then, let’s listen to you.”

So it was like this that Bai Zhi the evil dragon brought the knight away with less effort than it took to blow dust.

The two people exited the cave, and the cold stinging wind instantly hit them. Bai Zhi was somewhat worried about the human Gesius and glanced at him many times as they traveled. Seemingly able to sense Bai Zhi’s worry, Gesius smiled slightly:

“I am a knight, I have been endowed with a mission, won’t have any problems.”

However, after not much longer, Gesius’s words ended up feeding the dog.

The system’s warning beeps sounded endlessly from within his headspace, dididi flashing nonstop to signal that Gesius’s body temperature was dropping. Bai Zhi looked at the extremely pale complexion of that person struggling desperately to persist. His heart spasmed, and he simply pulled him closer and spoke harshly:

“You, close your eyes.”

Gesius didn’t understand why, but still listened, obediently closing his eyes. The moment he closed his eyes, Gesius suddenly felt his collar get pulled, felt himself suddenly get lifted onto a high seat, felt a whistling wind pass by him; Gesius couldn’t help but open his eyes.

The endless peaks passed through his view. The blizzard roared and slapped against the wings of the evil dragon. Gesius’s heart could not help but be shocked.

This evil dragon was helping him travel through the snowy mountains.

Bai Zhi didn’t know that Gesius had already opened his eyes. He was still trying hard to operate the wings he was not quite familiar with, putting great effort towards not crashing himself into the mountain peaks.

“Uncle, being a dragon isn’t nice at all.”

Bai Zhi coughed out a sentence, his voice trembling: “Tired and hungry, can’t even fly high.”

“That’s because you aren’t familiar with the enormous dragon’s–”

“Stupid dragon be careful!”

The system’s words were abruptly cut short. Confused, Bai Zhi turned his head back and saw large sheets of snow fall like rolling waves sweeping down from above.

Avalanche.

Bai Zhi suddenly thought of this word.

The system’s emergency rescue plan sounded in his ears, yet Bai Zhi didn’t hear a single word. The furious crashing of the snow mountain was extremely loud, and it almost deafened Bai Zhi.

The little demon silently paused for a moment, with only one thought in his mind.

There was still a person on his back.

Gesius’s heart was about to leap out of his throat, but he didn’t even have time to shout at this stunned evil dragon before a pair of black wings suddenly covered him from above, firmly protecting the Gesius on the dragon’s back.

The knight’s lack of confidence was buried under the dragon’s painful roar. Gesius’s heart abruptly tightened.

Stupid dragon.

He shouted.

Bai Zhi felt as if his entire body had never felt real pain, it hurt tens of thousand more times than when he was hit by a car in the second world. With the familiar voice of the system sounding endlessly in his head, he shivered, tried his best to open his eyes, but felt that his eyelids weighed thousands of pounds, and a sleepiness enveloped his entire body.

“Di——healing mode activated, currently healing the first wound, not enough energy, will be forced to enter juvenile state in five minutes…”

Bai Zhi was already unable to hear the system’s mechanical noise at this point, and he closed his eyes. Gesius ran wildly for a long time with his clothes ragged and finally found the comatose little evil dragon under a rock.

“Stupid dragon! Bai Zhi!” Gesius looked at the small dragon that was only as big as his palm, and his heart had never experienced such a horrifying panic.

How did this dragon become like this? Will an accident happen?

Gesius became more and more afraid and could not help snatching him up and running wildly on his way.

“Stupid dragon, you saved me just now, I haven’t yet repaid you, you definitely must not get into an accident.”

The act just now was too much of a shock for Gesius, there was no way he could have thought that, one day, that a dragon would put his life on the line to protect him.

If others knew they would say it’s too absurd, but it did happen.

Gesius’s heart was convulsing somewhat with pain, and he spoke intermittently in a trembling voice: “Stupid dragon, you clearly knew who was sitting on your back, why did you have to rush over to save him?”

Gesius thought of the precious sword the king had conferred onto him before he set off, thought of the horse that had accompanied him for many years, thought of the medal on his chest that symbolized his status and honor.

“First Knight Gesius of the royal family, this trip is by order of the king, to save the princess and slay the evil dragon.”

Gesius had lightly opened his mouth, said in a voice with carrying a few hints of his strong feelings:

“First Knight, let it not be said that I have failed a single task.”

Bai Zhi didn’t respond, still sleeping quietly in his palm as he was before. Gesius cast his eyes down to glance at this young black dragon. The originally beautiful armor had been almost sliced to pieces by the fragments of ice, the thin fissures stinging the skin on Gesius’s palms.

He carefully held both his hands close to his chest, and ran along this path of the snowy mountain he had to pass through in order to save the princess.

“Stupid dragon, if this time you end up unhurt, then I won’t expose the little secret of you sneaking over to sleep with me at night.”

“I also won’t expose the fact that you are the evil dragon, and will pretend that I didn’t see anything.”

Bai Zhi seemingly heard these words, he flapped his wings in Gesius’s palm.

A soft feeling came from his palm. Gesius’s whole body shivered, and he immediately looked towards his own palm.

Bai Zhi half-consciously opened his eyes, sprawled on Gesius’s large hand, and lay there for a long time before hugging his thumb to sit up, a small tail waving back and forth. His voice had also become small:

“The words you just said, I heard all of it, you’re not allowed to chicken out.”

With great difficulty Gesius controlled his wild joy, and even the words he spoke lacked some tact: “Stupid dragon…does it hurt…are you uncomfortable anywhere, I will bring you to a healer first…”

“Who are you calling a stupid dragon!” Bai Zhi’s voice was very faint: “Didn’t I tell you that my name is Bai Zhi, stupid knight.”
“Also, I’m in a lot of pain right now.”

Bai Zhi furrowed his brows, and then lazily sprawled on Gesius’s palm again: “To get better, I need you to sneak over to sleep with me in the middle of the night.”
