KILL THE PRINCE

Unedited

Wen Zhu Zhi’s eyes were dyed with surprise. In this situation, had Shao Luo taken him and escaped?

But how did he handle the Zerg?

Wen Zhu Zhi remembered a scene from before he had lost consciousness. At that time, he was in the sealed warehouse looking for an opportunity to escape, but he suddenly heard the warehouse door opening. He instinctively considered the person that was coming as an enemy and prepared to kill them, but he saw an unexpected person.

Shao Luo.

Wen Zhu Zhi was very surprised when he found out that he and Shao Luo had been captured at the same time. But he, himself, had not cared about this at all.

He had bargaining chips1 that would keep him alive, and as for that prince, maybe he would live and maybe he would die. But what would that have to do with him?

But……the person he hardly cared about and somewhat hated, did not escape alone as his first reaction. Instead, he chose to re-enter the dangers and came back to save him, which Wen Zhu Zhi had never expected.

He thought that a pampered royal like Shao Luo had come to the battlefield only to walk through the stage2 and only to loudly shout that he would protect the imperial family when they ran into danger.

However, that guy was not like that.

Wen Zhu Zhi’s eyes slightly twitched and he opened his mouth to speak.

Bai Zhi saw his doubtful look. Afraid that he would expose the system if he wasn’t careful, he promptly opened his mouth a step ahead, explaining, “I knocked out the soldiers and ran out, then I accidentally entered a portal. Now, I don’t know where we are.”

After saying that, he laughed. He felt very embarrassed as he helped Wen Zhu Zhi up and voiced, “I was careless and bumped into you, I’m sorry.”

“I dare not,3” Wen Zhu Zhi shook his head, his tone carrying a bit of apologeticness. “Your Highness Shao Luo, I’ve burdened you4.”

“No, no,” replied Bai Zhi. “It’s good you’re all right.”

After saying that, Bai Zhi raised his head to look at the colour of the sky5 and uttered, “It’s getting dark, I don’t know if it’s dangerous here or not. Let’s go find a place to spend the night.”

Wen Zhu Zhi nodded at hearing what he said.

Bai Zhi sighed in relief, he lifted his foot and took a step towards the place the system had marked. Wen Zhu Zhi did not say any more, gritting his teeth and slowly following him.

The two people did not speak for the entire journey. Only when they had arrived at the location they’d aimed for did the atmosphere get broken.

Bai Zhi pretended to accidentally find the entrance of a cave, then Wen Zhu Zhi entered first.

“We’ll stay here for today, okay? We’ll have thought of something again by the time it’s daylight.”

Wen Zhu Zhi’s body had originally received serious injuries, and although he had the system’s panacea6, he was still unable to take on his physical issues. He agreed to him finding a place for him to close his eyes and rest up.7

Bai Zhi sat beside him for a while. He took out a night vision device8 and placed it on the floor. The small sphere immediately issued saffron lighting, illuminating the entire cave entrance.

The warm light drove the coldness and darkness away. Bai Zhi sighed, suddenly recalling the him from before.

Bai Zhi was a demon, he was a very peculiar demon. He was not the fruit of a demon father and demon mother’s love, nor was he the inspirational type that had tried hard in cultivating and ended up accomplishing something. He had mysteriously appeared in this world as if he had popped out from a stone.

He was born with a human’s consciousness and he had spiritual intelligence before he had taken a form. He quietly laid on the stone, his eyes wide open as he looked at how the other organisms had lived. Then, he imitated their ways of living.

When he saw nestlings in a nest crying out to have their bellies filled, he climbed up and cried out, imitating the young birds. However, he ended up being miserably pecked all the way down. 9

That’s what his life was like before. Every day, Bai Zhi could not fill his stomach till he was full. And thus, he had learned to sleep. When he was hungry, he slept. That was until he had met the system.

This time, he was truly hungry and could not stand it anymore.

Bai Zhi thought about this and rubbed his head, sighing.

He could only hope that this mission would successfully be completed and that he could still fill his belly till it was full. Then, he would go find that person and continue to stay with him.

Thinking of this, Bai Zhi suddenly became happy. He simply sat cross-legged, thinking of memories of that person, bit by bit.

In the first world, he was called Fang Jingmo, who was a particularly handsome, particularly gentle, and particularly likeable man. In the second world, he was called Du Huai’an, who was a particularly handsome, particularly romantic, and particularly likeable man.

Although they were both villains, Bai Zhi did not care about their identities at all.

Bai Zhi thought about it, his head suddenly lit up10 and he immediately sat up straight.

Wait a minute, Fang Jingmo was a villain in the first world and Du Huai’an was a villain in the second world. Is this coincidental or is that person’s identity fixed, for example, always being a villain?

Thinking that he had seen through the pattern, Bai Zhi suddenly sprang up. He turned his head to gaze at the man with tightly closed eyes. Wen Zhu Zhi leaned on the wall of the cave frowning, his hair messy.

Bai Zhi thought about it and took off his jacket, walking over to him. He first draped the coat over the man and moved closer to him, looking at him for a long time. He lifted his hands and tidied up Wen Zhu Zhi’s dishevelled hair. Moments later, he ended up unable to hold back. Both of his hands pressed on Wen Zhu Zhi’s collar, he crouched down and leaned his body forwards. He slowly moved his face closer to Wen Zhu Zhi’s neck, closing his eyes to sniff him for a while. Then, he unhurriedly released his hands, his eyes flowing with brightness.

“Uncle, Uncle!”

“What is it!”11

“I found him.”

Sensing the abnormally familiar soul scent, Bai Zhi was so excited that he teared up12, wishing he could hug Wen Zhu Zhi and kiss him a few times. However, he was wisely stopped by the system.

“Have you forgotten that he doesn’t have his memories? What’s the point in pouncing on him right now?”

Only then did Bai Zhi come back to his senses. “Oh yeah, he doesn’t remember me.”

Thinking of this, Bai Zhi got depressed, “I had forgotten in the excitement.”

But luckily, he was naturally optimistic. Soon after, he was happy again. “It doesn’t matter, I’ll just think of it as getting to know him again. Besides, I have the time and patience.”

The system stroked his head, “It’s good that you think like this. Rest first, I’ll call for you if there’s any danger.”

“Okay! You’ve worked hard! Good night, Uncle!”

Bai Zhi moved back to Wen Zhu Zhi’s side, lightly saying ‘good night’. After he said that, he then leaned against the man and shut his eyes.

The night was quiet, you were not able to hear even a single sound. The night vision device’s light dispelled the darkness and the originally closed eyes of the man slowly opened.

Wen Zhu Zhi’s eyes were clear and bright without a trace of tiredness. He glanced at Bai Zhi, who was leaning against him, his eyes slightly twitching.

He was cautious and careful by nature and he had been in the army for many years. When Bai Zhi was heading for him just now, Wen Zhu Zhi had immediately woken up, he simply did not open his eyes. What went on after was completely unexpected.

Wen Zhu Zhi lowered his head and looked at the clothing draped over his body. His eyes turned to the man snuggling up to him by the side.

The man’s figure was slim, his cheeks seeming somewhat thin because of recent matters. His lips had no colour, his two eyes tightly closed.

Wen Zhu Zhi looked at him for a while, then turned his line of sight. His eyes were dark and obscure.

The touch he had just felt had remained on his heart. If Shao Luo had only draped his coat over him, one could say it’s comradeship, which was barely plausible. But, why did he have to be like that and come closer to him?

And it was not only that…… Wen Zhu Zhi could clearly feel Shao Luo pulling his collar, slowly pressing closer to his body. He greedily sniffed his scent, furthermore, he seemed to be very infatuated with it. It was as if he had seen some sort of rare treasure.13

Wen Zhu Zhi frowned, the thoughts in his mind flying. Although homosexuality had already been legal in the Empire for many years and people had already been used to it at an earlier time, this sort of thing would not exist between him and Shao Luo, right?

What kind of person is Shao Luo?

Although he was only his lieutenant in the army, in the Empire where the royal family had firmly seized political power, he still had another strongly dazzling identity.

He was the first son14 of the royal family. He had an honourable status, was loved by myriads since young, and everyone worshipped him.

How could he have such feelings for him?

Wen Zhu Zhi’s fingertips twitched.

He hated the humans of the Empire, especially the members of the royal family.

Thinking of this, Wen Zhu Zhi’s aura had suddenly become severely fierce.

He carefully pondered over his current situation. The prince of the Empire slept with his head resting on him without any vigilance and he was completely certain that he could finish off15 this new royal recruit16.

Furthermore, this place was remote and uninhabited, it’s an excellent opportunity to do it17. If he finished him off here, once he returned to the Empire, Wen Zhu Zhi would still be able to find ways to push the pot18 onto the Zerg. If things went well, he would not have any losses and he would make the Empire lose an excellent royal soldier19.

Thinking of this20, Wen Zhu Zhi slowly extended his hand, pressing on Bai Zhi’s neck.

So long as he uses some strength, this royal prince would quietly disappear, no longer appearing in this world.

Wen Zhu Zhi’s eyes twitched. Moments later, he had finally decided. He held his breath as he prepared to do it. However, the man he was pressing had suddenly moved.

Bai Zhi was deep into his sleep, it’s just, he felt uncomfortable in this position. He instinctively moved his body to the man by his side and rubbed against his arms.

After some twisting, he finally found a comfortable position. Bai Zhi breathed through his nose, sniffing a familiar smell. He smacked his lips in satisfaction, simply extending his hands to tightly embrace the man’s waist. Then, he crawled up like a koala, continuing to sleep.

Wen Zhu Zhi, who was startled by the series of movements, was frozen for a while. Then he looked at the man in his arms, somewhat at a loss. The two people’s breaths intertwined. Wen Zhu Zhi could feel the young man’s temperature on his skin through the clothing.

He’s soft and very warm, the hug is also rather comfortable. Wen Zhu Zhi suddenly thought.

However, such thoughts only existed for a few seconds. Wen Zhu Zhi then immediately shook his head, composing himself to drive it out of his head.

No, he could not be softhearted!

The enemy has already exposed his weak point! This is a great opportunity, how could he miss it!

Wen Zhu Zhi took a deep breath and lifted his arm, preparing to strike again. Suddenly, he heard the man in his arms groan in his sleep. The man seemed to have dreamt about something bad and he slightly frowned.

Wen Zhu Zhi froze, the hand that had originally intended to take his life, moved positions as if the demons and gods were at work.21 He lightly patted the young man on the back with gentle force, as if he were coaxing the man.

And it really did have a coaxing effect on the man. Bai Zhi’s eyebrows had smoothed out and he no longer did a rubbing motion against Wen Zhu Zhi.

Wen Zhu Zhi did not dare move again, afraid he would startle the man sleeping in his arms. He did not withdraw his hand and just rested it on Bai Zhi’s back, slightly hugging the man.

Most of the night had passed like that. Once there were rays of light digging into the cave, Wen Zhu Zhi had suddenly recalled something he had forgotten.

No, wasn’t he going to kill the prince!

The author has something to say:

Wen Zhu Zhi: Tomorrow, tomorrow I must kill the prince!

Smth that can be used to gain an advantage when trying to make a deal or an agreement.过场 = When someone in a Chinese opera doesn’t stay on stage for long and they cross the stage to exit through the other side. (They exit through the opposite side to make it seem like they’ve had more stage time, and in this case, WZZ is saying that he thought SL came to the battlefield only to make it seem like he did something since it would make him seem brave or whatever.)He won’t accept his apology cuz he’s tryna be polite… Like, cuz SL is royalty, refusing his apology would be polite.Formal ‘you’.天色 = Colour of the sky. He’s looking at the sky to determine what time it is.灵丹妙药 = effective cure, miracle medicine (idiom); fig. wonder-cure for all problems/panacea/elixirIf you’re a bit confused, I’ll simplify this sentence. WZZ is very injured, he can not handle his injuries even with the system’s panacea, and so, he agreed to BZ finding a place to stay for him.I think it’s more of some sort of lamp and it’s just called a night vision device.AHHHH, this is the ‘joke’ that Fang Jingmo told Bai Zhi in chapter 4!!!Pretty sure it’s when an anime character has a light bulb near or in their head when they realise something…It’s said in a dialect.热泪盈眶 = eyes brimming with tears of excitement (idiom) / extremely moved. They make BZ seem like some perverted weirdo… 嫡子 = first son of the first wife. Zenne:  Wen Zhu Zhi is trying so hard to force himself to kill Bai Zhi, but he keeps failing. Also, Bai Zhi lived a pretty sad life before, huh.
