I am Legend

42 Preparation

"CLANG, CLANG!" Azalea swung her [Blue Soul] in a high speed, clashing weapons with Ryth. However, Ryth was able to deflect all of her attacks without breaking a sweat.

"Fuuh..." Azalea wiped the sweat on her forehead, panting.

"You're really good," she said. "You haven't even used your three swords. I wonder how it would feel like, battling with you and your three swords."

Ryth sheathed [Ruujin's Will] back. "Hmm… You're good, as well," he said, returning the compliment.

He then looked up at the sky, watching the sun slowly darkens. "Let's go back," he said, turning to Azalea. "It's getting late now."

"Mhm," Azalea agreed.

It was mid-afternoon, but the sky has already started to darken the sky, slowly blanketing the sky with dark hue.

The two of them walked together to the ladder, which leads them up to the tree houses. Ryth climbed up the ladder first. He had thought that it would be awkward for her to go up first since she was wearing a skirt. It would be inappropriate for him to let her go first.

Once Ryth had climbed the ladder, he stood aside and held out his hand to help Azalea up.

Together, they walked towards Lady Elsa's house when Ryth suddenly said, "So, I was thinking that we should head over to your village tomorrow or the day after."

He stood up and reach his hand towards her to pull her up, they walked together towards Lady Elsa house, Ryth said while touching his chin with his thumb and index fingers, "Hmm, I think we will head to your village tomorrow or the day after tomorrow."

"Mhm," Azalea nodded. "Though, I've already prepared everything. All thats left was to meet up with Chief Fenar and discuss our next move."

"Then, we'll need to visit him tomorrow."

"Yeah, maybe in the morning?"

"Sounds good," Ryth agreed.

Not long after, they finally arrived at Lady Elsa's house. Ryth bid his farewell and walked back home.

He turned his head at Azalea and saw her still waving at him.

"Daedalus, how many slots do we have left in inventory?"

"Here, I'll open it for you."

Ryth had just arrived at his assigned house. Inside, he saw Hill and Llyod playing chess. He greeted them before going straight towards his room.

He then sat down on his bed, resting his chin on his fist. "Hmm... there are still plenty of slots available. But I think I will need more slots in the future."

"Yeah, I think so too."

"If I could find a grand soul stone, use it to upgrade the inventory."

"Got it! Ku ku ku!"

Ryth walked to the closet, grabbed some clean clothes before going in the bathroom to take a bath.

------

It was late afternoon, when he left his room to go to the kitchen to help Hill and Llyod prepare dinner.

An hour later, the foods were laid down on the dining table. The three of them gathered together at the table, eating together, falling into an easy conversation.

Once they were done with dinner, they washed the dishes and Ryth returned back to his room. He sat down on his bed and called out Daedalus. "Daedalus, can we upgrade [Eye of Daedalus]?"

"Yeah, of course! What? Are you interested in upgrading it?"

"That's right, at least by increasing the level of the [Eye of Daedalus], I could increase my strength by folds. So, why not?"

He then rested his chin on his fist. "But then again, if I still can't meet the requirements now, I guess I'll have to give up for now," he mused.

"I'm well aware about that too. The requirement for upgrading the [Eye of Daedalus] to level 2 is ten grand soul stones."

"Ehhhh… Guess I can't do it now," Ryth sighed. "Then, I'll just have to upgrade the inventory, instead."

"Okay, then."

He then lay down on his bed, reading a book he found at the closet earlier. He could hear the soft patter of the rain hitting the roof.

"Ugh," he said, sitting up on the bed. "I'm probably deadbeat after that sparring practice with Azalea this afternoon. I should make some coffee."

He stood up and head out to the kitchen to make some coffee.

Before heading towards the kitchen, he saw Hill and Llyod continue their chess game. He then made coffee for the three of them.

Hill and Llyod were too concentrated in the game, not realising Ryth standing beside them. Ryth placed their cups on the table near them and said, "Here, I've made some coffee for you two."

The two of them jumped in surprise, looking up at Ryth. "Thanks, my lord," they said in unison.

Ryth nodded. He then went to grab his coffee before getting a chair to sit near them.

"Llyod, Hill, your equipment are in my room, I'll give it to you later, alright?"

"Okay, my lord. You can give it to me later after I beat Hill up! Hahaha!" said Llyod, laughing out loud.

Hill scoffed. "In that case, you probably won't be seeing your equipment ever again," Hill retorted. "That's because you can't beat me in this lifetime."

"Huh?! I'll beat you! Just you wait!" shouted Llyod as he moved his rook.

"Can you be quiet for once?" Hill asked sarcastically.

Ryth laughed, watching the two of them bicker.

The three of them fell into an easy conversation, having a chat and laugh.

It was late evening when they finally went to bed. However, before that, Ryth brought the dirty cups back to the kitchen and washed them.

"Let's rest," Ryth said to Daedalus, laying down on his bed. "Tomorrow we'll head over to Lady Elsa's house and go over to Chief Fenar's House together with them."

"Alright," Daedalus answered.

---------

It was early morning, the sun has just rose up in the horizon, casting a soft blue shade over the sky. Daedalus, as usual, woke Ryth up for his daily morning routine. Because of last night's rain, the morning was cool and misty.

Ryth quickly did his routine before heading for a shower. He then went out to the kitchen to help out with the breakfast.

Ryth and his group had just finished their breakfast when someone knocked on their door.

Llyod quickly opened the door to find an elf guard standing outside.

The guard bowed his head and greeted Llyod. "Good morning, Mr. Llyod. Chief Fenar requested for your presence at his house, together with Mr. Myrad and Mr. Hill."

Mr. Llyod nodded. "We'll get ready first before heading there."

"Okay, I'll be waiting here, Mr. Llyod."

Few minutes later, the four of them head off towards Chief Fenar's house.

When they finally arrived at Chief Fenar's house, they saw Lady Elsa and the others already sitting inside. Chief Fenar invited Ryth and his group to have a sit before starting his talk.

"Good morning everyone. I'd like to thank you all for coming this early," Chief Fenar said, slightly bowing his head.

Ryth and the others returned the gesture.

"We will march towards the High Elves' village early tomorrow morning before the sun rises. I will send our best soldiers to assist Miss Azalea. Including Mr. Myrad's team, this team will be 100-men team."

"We will use the darkness to sneak into the Palace, with the help of Miss Azalea. She will help guide us," Chief Fenar announced.

"Yes, I will show you all the way to the secret passageway that will lead us to the innermost of the Palace," Azalea added. "This secret passageway is only known to the direct line of the royal family. Even my uncle is not aware of the secret passage."

Ryth rest his chin on top of his fist as he was thinking. "We should also use the [Crystal of Truth] that we collected from the previous mission. We will use that to record Lady Elsa's memories as proof for Wildan's treachery. This will gain us the support of the other High Elves there."

Lady Elsa nodded in agreement. "Yes, I agree with Mr. Myrad. We should bring the other High Elves to our side." She then frowned. "Now, we just have to think about how to deal with the First Army General and also Wildan's right hand elf, General Rhangyl Larneiros."

"Oh? A classic villain?" Ryth thought to himself when he heard the familiar name. In 'The Throne' General Rhangyl Larneiros was one of the villain's and bosses in the questline of the elf race.

"He's a skilled commander, who welded a two-hand swords. He's also a berserker, " Chief Fenar said, frowning.

"It's exactly the same as in 'The Throne', then," Ryth thought to himself.

"We need to distract his attention and make him busy while a smaller team will capture Wildan in the palace."

"We also need to release the loyal followers of Miss Azalea as well. I believed that they are being imprisoned in the castle dungeon." Woodgard added. "For treason."

"Are the prison and the palace on the same building? If not, that suits us just fine. The farther the better, it will give us some time," Ryth said.

Ryth wasn't really familiar with the elf's village, since his race was human when he played in 'The Throne'. He only knew about the General, because he had once helped a friend of his, who was playing an elf, to complete a quest.

"Yes, the prison and the palace are quite far from each other. So, even if General Rhangyl noticed something was wrong, it will take some time for him to help Wildan. By the time he arrived, Wildan will already be in our hands, " Lady Elsa said.

"Well, let just hope that nothing goes wrong later."

"Yes," Chief Fenar nodded. "Today, we shall prepare for tomorrow. We will head off before 5 AM in the morning."

Ryth stood up, followed by Hill and Llyod. "Alright. Lets go!" he said, a look of determination on his face.
