Jin Liwei's expression turned ugly. "How dare this presumptuous woman use your name for public attention? If it weren't for you, the media wouldn't even be interested in reporting Long Hui's marriage with this shameless woman!"

Iris narrowed her eyes. Her thoughts were exactly the same as him. Although the Long clan was known in high society and the Long Industries in the business industry, they weren't renowned enough to be instantly recognizable among the general public. It was only because of Iris Long that more people learned about her paternal family and Long Industries.

Without her, there was no way that Long Hui or even his current fiancée would be featured so easily by the media when they weren't even famous for anything in their own right. Just being the children of wealthy families with aristocratic roots wasn't enough to justify reporting about them in the news.

"I doubt that this is the work of Long Hui," Iris said. "Long Hui might be a stupid idiot but he isn't this idiotic. Besides, he is trying to keep a low profile while fighting Eldest Brother Yehan's defamation lawsuit. Suddenly publicizing his upcoming marriage with this Mao woman will only garner unwanted attention upon himself."

"Then this is most likely the work of this Mao Qiuyue woman," Jin Liwei replied.

She nodded. "Ying Yue doesn't act differently after receiving the wedding invitation but Dom mentioned to me that he found pieces of the invitation in the trash. Ying Yue must have ripped it."

"Dominic checks the trash cans at home?" Jin Liwei asked in confusion.

Iris laughed. "I don't know. But what I do know is that Dom can smell gossip a mile away."

The mood lightened up at the mention of Dom.

Jin Liwei put away the tablet. "What do you want to do with Long Hui and Mao Qiuyue?"

"To be honest, I don't want to spend extra time and energy on them."

"Then don't." He smiled at him. "Get ready, love. We'll go home now."

"You finished work already?"

"Not yet but I'll finish the rest at home later. I know that you miss our babies. I miss them, too."

Her expression softened. "Alright."

While Iris was freshening up in the bathroom, Jin Liwei was thinking of ways to punish the shameless Mao woman for using his wife and his name for media clout.

"Excuse me, Daddy! Uncle Yehan is calling. Meow~"

"Answer it."

"Aye aye, Daddy! Connecting the call in 3…2…meow!"

"Third Brother," Lin Yehan greeted.

"Eldest Brother."

Lin Yehan had seen Mao Qiuyue's interview on TV. He anticipated that Jin Liwei would be angered so he called.

"I know that you want to take action but I hope that you can leave it to me, Third Brother," Lin Yehan said.

Jin Liwei didn't reply right away.

Lin Yehan sighed. "They're not worth your time, Third Brother. I can handle this by myself. Trust me."

"Fine." Jin Liwei hesitated before revealing, "Jiang Ying Yue received a wedding invitation, too."

He heard a sharp inhale on the other end of the line. Jin Liwei could imagine his eldest sworn brother's usually gentle expression twisting in anger.

"I understand," Lin Yehan finally said after a few seconds. "Thanks for letting me know. Miss Ying Yue didn't tell me about this."

Jin Liwei's eyebrow rose.

What did Lin Yehan mean by saying that? Was he and Jiang Ying Yue this familiar that they would have regular communication to the point that Lin Yehan expected Jiang Ying Yue to tell him this kind of thing?

Although Jin Liwei had so many questions, he decided not to ask Lin Yehan about it. This wasn't the right time. Solving the issue about Long Hui and Mao Qiuyue came first.

"Jail time for Long Hui might not be possible but I'm pushing my lawyers to make him cough out a heavier compensation, maybe even community service," Lin Yehan shared.

"Push for public surveillance so that his privacy will be deprived for a number of years," Jin Liwei suggested. "He won't be able to hide from authorities until his punishment is over."

"Yes, I know. My lawyers are already working on it. His father is also protecting him so I'm already being merciful at this rate."

Jin Liwei frowned. "Did my father-in-law talk to you?"

Iris came out of the adjoining bedroom and heard what he said. Jin Liwei turned on the loudspeaker to let her listen on the conversation.

"Yes, President Long Tengfei contacted my assistant but I avoided talking to him personally," Lin Yehan said, sighing. "I know that you and Xiulan have a good relationship with him. I don't want to feel bad for pressuring Long Hui because of your father-in-law. The son of a bitch deserves to be punished."

"Eldest Brother," Iris interrupted. "Continue the lawsuit and don't give in because of my relationship with my father."

"Is that you, Xiulan? Okay, I understand. That's what I plan on doing anyway. That's why I avoid speaking with your father because I don't want to put all of us in an awkward situation."

"This lawsuit has already been dragged for too long," Iris continued saying. "My father did an excellent job in protecting his eldest son but we all know that this is only delaying the inevitable. Long Hui can't run away from the law unless you, Eldest Brother, withdraw the lawsuit. I'm sure that you won't."

"You're right, Xiulan. I'm not going to withdraw. I'm not only doing this for my sake. I can't forgive what Long Hui did to Miss Ying Yue and Little Jun. He's an embarrassment to all decent men in the world."

Iris looked at her husband with a raised brow. Jin Liwei returned the look. Even so, they didn't ask Lin Yehan to elaborate.

The phone call ended.

"What does that mean?" Iris asked her husband. "Eldest Brother Yehan sounds like he and Ying Yue are close."

Jin Liwei shrugged. Frankly, he didn't care if his Eldest Brother Lin Yehan and Jiang Ying Yue developed a relationship. Both of them were currently single. They were free to hook up if that was what they wished. He would only interfere if the wellbeing of his godson, Little Jun, was going to be negatively affected by said relationship.

"Alright, it's none of our business anyway," Iris muttered. "Let's go home now, darling. I miss our babies so much."

The husband and wife went home together. [Read official chapters on W e b n o v e l (dot) com. Please stop supporting piracy. Also follow author on Instagram: @arriacross]

True to his word, Lin Yehan gunned for Long Hui without holding back. Before this, he had been hesitating because of Long Tengfei's protection, but now he tossed away all of his previous reservations after receiving Iris' assurance.

His lawyers became more aggressive in the lawsuit. In the end, just when Mao Qiuyue was in the middle of another round of using Iris Long's name to publicize her upcoming wedding with Long Hui, the judge finally ruled in favour of Lin Yehan.

Long Tengfei's protection helped prevent jail time for Long Hui. Lin Yehan no longer pushed for it either. He would just consider this as his little bit of mercy to Long Hui as a respect to Long Tengfei.

The judge punished Long Hui to complete 500 hours of community service under public surveillance to make sure that he wouldn't cheat. He also needed to pay 50 million RMB of compensation to Lin Yehan. Lastly, he needed to make a public apology to Lin Yehan and Jiang Ying Yue for defaming them.

Lin Yehan thought that this set of punishments was only fair. As a matter of fact, he didn't think that 500 hours of community service were enough. Long Hui needed to serve the common people longer in order to learn his lesson.

Long Hui needed to realize that without the halo of being Long Tengfei's eldest son, he was a nobody. He had no right using his status to bully his ex in public. If he was a decent man, he would have resolved his issues with Jiang Ying Yue in private. There was no need to humiliate the mother of his child in the media. Didn't he realize that his actions would only traumatize his own son?

Lin Yehan had no sympathy for Long Hui. For him, the man was a foolish coward. He cheated on such a wonderful woman like Jiang Ying Yue with a generic spoiled young miss from another wealthy family just for the sake of increasing his chances to inherit Long Industries and the Long clan.

As for the 50 million RMB compensation, Lin Yehan didn't care much about the money. He might not be as rich as his third brother but he was still an agricultural tycoon in his own right.

People would always need food no matter what. The agricultural field was a necessity to feed large populations. Lin Yehan might be low key but it didn't mean that he held no power and influence on his own.

The 50 million RMB compensation was his attempt to hurt Long Hui especially after learning that the man was competing against Iris in buying Long Industries shares.

Long Hui was rich but not that rich compared to tycoons like Lin Yehan who owned and ran his own profitable businesses. 50 million RMB might not be a lot to tycoons like Lin Yehan and elite billionaires like Jin Liwei but it should cause Long Hui a big strain to his personal finances.

In addition, losing the lawsuit would set Long Hui back in the battle of succession at Long Industries.

Immediately after hearing about the judge's final verdict from his team of lawyers, Lin Yehan jumped into his car and drove directly to Dragon Palace. He couldn't wait to share the news to Jiang Ying Yue.
