His Genius Wife is a Superstar

1352 Expensive Investment

It was still too early to determine if what the Lu twins were exhibiting now were indeed their innate personalities. But no matter what, Long Jinjing loved her babies with all her heart.

"Jing'er, Zihao, Mom is leaving by the end of the week," Sun Jingfei told them.

Long Jinjing's eyes widened. "So soon?"

"I can't stay here forever, you know that. Now that your month-long confinement is over, there is no need for me to stay here any longer."

"But Mom—"

"Jing'er, you'll manage without me," Sun Jingfei's tone was stern even as her expression remained gentle.

"I…understand." Long Jinjing sighed.

"Don't worry. Mom will still visit my grandsons regularly."

"Give me a call whenever you want to see your grandsons, Mother," Lu Zihao said. "I'll have someone pick you up."

Sun Jingfei didn't refuse his offer. "Thank you, Zihao. Mom will depend on you when the time comes."

"No problem."

"Maybe I should leave, too?" Huang Yuyan wondered out loud.

Sun Jingfei looked surprised. "Sister Yuyan, there's no need to follow my example. Your son and daughter-in-law owns this house…er, mansion. I'm sure that they won't mind if you stay here longer."

"I know. But I think that I've already stayed long enough. It's great to see my precious grandsons every day but I still miss my own home."

"I understand what you mean," Sun Jingfei agreed, nodding.

Long Jinjing and Lu Zihao watched as the two ladies chatted about leaving. [Read official chapters on W e b n o v e l (dot) com. Please stop supporting piracy. Also follow author on Instagram: @arriacross]

Huang Yuyan and Sun Jingfei had become friendlier and closer after the birth of their respective grandsons. The two new grandmothers often spent time together in the nursery. Their similar personalities—shy and subdued—allowed them to vibe with each other more easily.

In the end, Huang Yuyan decided that she would leave Dragon Palace with Sun Jingfei by the end of the week.

Long Jinjing and Lu Zihao didn't have the right to persuade Huang Yuyan to stay. Only Iris and Jin Liwei could do that.

###

When Huang Yuyan and Sun Jingfei left the mansion, Iris and Long Jinjing saw them off. The two grandmothers were teary as they said goodbyes to their precious grandsons.

Unlike them, Grandpa Lu didn't have any intention of leaving. The old man was now smittened by his precious great-grandbabies. Unless he was kicked out of the mansion by force, he would stay here for as long as he could.  There was no way that he could bear to leave his precious great-grandbabies. However, he might need to rethink where he would stay when Lu Zihao and Long Jinjing moved to their new house.

Later, Iris kissed her twins goodbye and left them to Long Jinjing, Grandpa Lu and the nannies. She headed to Eve Holdings.

By this time, her figure now looked as if she had never been pregnant. She looked even better than before she became pregnant.

There were paparazzi waiting for her when she arrived outside her company building. She didn't avoid them. As a matter of fact, she deliberately allowed them to see her and take photos of her.

The cameras clicked nonstop. Iris' bodyguards encircled her and protected her from the paparazzi who kept on trying to get closer to her.

"Looking good, Iris!"

"Can you share what kind of diet plan you used to lose the baby weight so quickly?"

"When are you planning on returning to showbiz?"

"How are Little Mochi and Little Matcha doing?"

At first, Iris didn't plan on actually interacting with the paparazzi. She was just going to let them photograph her. But she couldn't help but stop when she heard them asking about her babies.

She beamed at them behind her large sunglasses. "Little Mochi and Little Matcha have grown a lot. They're doing well. Thank you for asking."

The paparazzi became excited. The others whose questions weren't answered tried again. They changed tactics and asked about the twins instead since this was the only topic that Iris seemed to be willing to answer for now.

Indeed, Iris granted a few minutes to them and answered questions about her twins. She ignored the other questions.

When she felt that it was enough, she said goodbye to them before entering Eve Holdings surrounded by her bodyguards.

Her executive assistant personally welcomed her at the main lobby. All her other employees also gave her a warm greeting. Some Black Stars among them looked visibly excited upon seeing her but they managed to maintain their professionalism. Only when Iris left via the elevator to her office that they finally let go and fangirled, fanboyed and fangayed together.

Inside her office, Iris immediately started working even as her executive assistant briefed her about the progress of several projects.

"President Long, Phantom Dragon Funds have successfully purchased 12% of Long Industries shares as of this morning. Shareholders are now starting to resist after noticing our aggressive buying."

Iris smirked. "Good. Adding my current shares to Phantom Dragon's 12%, I am now one of the major shareholders of Long Industries."

"Congratulations, President."

"Thank you. Instruct Phantom Dragon to continue buying as much as they can. I want to become the major shareholder or at least be on par with my father."

"Understood, President. I'll let our people at Phantom Dragon know about your instructions."

She nodded and twirled a pen between her fingers. "Nobody knows that Phantom Dragon is under Eve Holdings yet, right?"

"Yes, it's still a secret. It'll remain that way until President Long is ready to reveal the truth to everyone."

"Excellent!"

Iris was very pleased.

Nobody knew that Phantom Dragon Funds was under Eve Holdings yet. This meant that nobody knew that she owned the investment company. All the people in Long Industries knew so far was that a mysterious new investment company was aggressively buying as much shares as it could. The price was often not an issue so a few of the shareholders had been tempted and sold their shares to Phantom Dragon.

According to the latest investigation report, Long Hui's camp managed to accumulate barely 8%, possibly 10% shares. However, those shares hadn't been officially transferred to his name yet.

The Zhengs, his maternal family, and the Maos, his current fiancée's family, were funding this expensive investment. They were also very aggressive in buying shares just like Phantom Dragon. Their actions, however, were more covert to protect what was left of Long Hui's reputation.
