Harry Potter's Catastrophe

Chapter 60: Wizard Chess

Room No. 1 was completely dark, but there were at least some lights or candles in other rooms. After they entered the room, the door behind them closed automatically and the lights in the room suddenly turned on.

"Is this a chessboard?" Neville was a little unsure. There was now a black and white checkered floor under their feet. The whole room was divided into two sides, with black chess and white chess on each side. The chess pieces are each five or six meters high. They are all human-shaped, but their faces are blank and they have no facial features.

There are five fewer black stones on the board than white.

"What now?" Harry whispered, looking at the faceless chess pieces.

"That's obvious," Ron said. "We're going to play chess." He pointed to the door behind the white chess piece on the opposite side.

"Ron, you're better at this, I'll listen to you." Carney didn't understand this wizard chess either.

"I think we need to be chess pieces." Ron stepped forward and approached a black chess on horseback. The black chess on horseback suddenly became motivated and waved the sword in his hand. "We have to work with you to Go?" The knight on the horse nodded.

"Is it okay if I take command?" Ron looked at everyone.

"Of course, you're not that good at chess," said Harry.

"We need to replace the chess pieces. We need four people to replace the vacant positions." Ron said. "I want to take command, I'm one of them."

"I'll come too." Harry said first.

"It's just right to remove Hermione." Carney stepped forward to fill a vacancy, "Oh, and Fang."

There is no doubt that the remaining two are Neville and Hagrid, with Hermione in the background as an audience. After everyone had completed their moves, all the chess pieces moved, and the knights and soldiers took out their weapons.

The atmosphere on the chessboard suddenly became tense, with Ron lying on a black horse as the knight, Harry as the bishop, Neville as the castle, and Hagrid and Carney as the soldiers.

"White moves first." After Ron said, the white chess on the opposite side started to move. A white pawn moved forward two squares. After the pawn moved, the swords of both hands crossed and slashed horizontally.

Opposite the white pawn was Kani, and the strong wind from the sword blew Kani's hair two squares away.

"Huh~" Everyone present took a breath of fear. It would be a big deal if they were hit.

"Ron!" Hermione's voice called Ron out of his daze on his horse.

Ron came back to his senses and began to concentrate on directing the chess pieces. Ron did not dare to move ahead of Carney and the others. A black soldier moved out and moved to the side of the white pawn that came out. The sword in his hands slashed hard at the white chess piece next to him. go.

"Bang!" Dust flew everywhere for a moment, and the white pawn was split in half by the black soldier. Then the damaged pawn was cleared out of the field.

"Well done Ron!" said Harry.

"Bang!"

The black chess piece that had just come out was stabbed and exploded by a sword from a knight who came out from behind. At this time, they were really scared. The head of the black soldier exploded into powder, and a chill spread in everyone's hearts.

Carney looked at the others. Neville's legs had begun to shake. Harry was about the same. Ron's face was a little bad. Although his wizard chess game was a bit violent, it was not that violent. Hagrid was okay.

"It's okay, keep going!" Carney gave Ron courage, "I believe you!"

If he didn't intend to let Ron steal the show, Ron would have to let him.asxs. play a role. Otherwise, if he went through the level all the way and had no effect at all, wouldn't he be a little moody?

"Yeah." Ron continued, "Carney, move forward two spaces!"

The chess pieces on the field were constantly being cleared off the chessboard, and the chess pieces on both sides of the chessboard were almost dead. Except for Ron, who would move Harry Carney and others when necessary, they basically remained motionless, especially Neville.

"Hagrid, move three spaces to the right and front." "Harry, move two spaces to the left and front." Ron tried his best to avoid direct conflict between them and the white chess on the opposite side, so as not to become the target of attack.

"There's nothing we can do, Kani." Ron's chess skills must be said to be very high. With so many pieces that he couldn't move at will, the situation was now evenly matched.

"Don't worry, it's just your command." Carney seemed to know Ron's concerns.

"Kani, go one square to the right."

Carney moved in front of a white knight. If the knight could kill the general.

"Split it into pieces!" Carney had already prepared his wand and used a splitting spell to split the white knight into pieces. "Speaking of which, if I don't use magic to blow it up, will it be considered dead or not?"

"It should be considered dead..." Ron didn't know very well. This might be one of the reasons why he didn't dare to move Harry and the others.

Both Carney and Hagrid were able to deal with the chess pieces, giving Ron more movable chess pieces. There were fewer and fewer chess pieces on the chessboard, and Ron spent more time thinking about the next move.

"We're almost there," Ron looked at the situation on the chessboard, "Let me think about it."

"Ron, let me do it!" Everyone present saw the current situation and needed a fake general to distract the white knight next to the white king.

"..." Ron looked at Carney, then looked at the situation on the chessboard and thought about it.

Without waiting for Ron to speak, Carney raised his leg and moved to a position where the white chess piece on the opposite side could move and attack.

"Carney!" Hermione said worriedly from the sidelines. Everyone looked at Carney worriedly, including Harry.

"Does it have to be like this?" Neville asked worriedly.

"Ron can figure it out, Ron." Harry said, looking at Ron with worried eyes.

"Let me do it. I have a knight here to buffer me." Ron had no choice but to play like this. It was already very difficult. Now they and the king were the only black chessmen on the field.

"Don't worry! It's frozen like ice!" Carney had already built a shield with water and condensed it into solid ice. Carney tried it. The attack can only attack a place within the range of one square. The magic cast after one square will not work. You know where it went, otherwise you wouldn't be able to defend yourself.

After Carney produced an ice ball, he continued to apply a wave of magic to the entire ball, turning the entire ice ball into ice blue.

"Clang!"

"Kani!" Everyone shouted, and the people on the chessboard could only watch and could not step out of the chessboard grid.

The white knight moved out and slashed across the blue ice shield with his sword. Carney was knocked away with the shield and fell outside the chessboard.

"It's okay! My shield can hold up!" Carney estimated that the power of the sword was enough to break through his defense. Being knocked away was not due to that sword. After his shield was hit by the sword, the man was thrown up by a force and thrown out of the chessboard.

"Scared me to death!" Hermione came around from the sidelines, ran to Carney, and quickly helped Carney up.

"Huh~ Knight, go four squares to the right." The black horse Ron was riding led him to the White King, "General!"

"Clang!" The sword in the white king's hand fell, he took off the crown and threw it at the black horse's feet, and the door behind him also opened.

"Ron, that's good!"

Everyone on the chessboard could move around freely, and Carney and Hermione took their teeth to the chessboard.

"Kani, are you okay?" Harry said.

"Don't worry, it's a joke!" Carney punched Harry and Ron on the shoulders, as well as Neville, "The door is open, let's go check out the next level."

"What's next?" Harry asked Hagrid, who knew who was involved in designing the levels.

"Sprout's devil's net, Professor Flitwick's magic key lock, Professor McGonagall's transformation wizard chess, and the remaining levels of Professor Quirrell and Professor Snape." Hagrid said, "The one who stole the Sorcerer's Stone Definitely not Professor Snape."

"Come on, if it's not him, then there's no one else. You've said it many times. We'll find out when we wait here." Ron said.

There is a dark passage all the way through the door. There are torches on the wall of the passage, but they are not very bright and the flames are small.

There is also some distance in the entire passage. The flames of the torches are getting smaller and smaller along the way, and the light is getting darker.

"Why is it getting colder as we walk?" Hermione shrank.
