Harry Potter's Catastrophe

Chapter 41: Picky Eater Xiao Hei

The morning sun shone on Carney's face. Carney opened his eyes and took a deep breath. Today is another day full of energy!

Xiao Hei also turned around from his trance and swam around to wrap around Carney's wrist.

During breakfast, Carney gave Xiao Hei the vegetarian food on the table, but Xiao Hei had no intention of eating it. Carney was really afraid that it would starve to death, or that it might be an inhuman snake.

During Snape's Potions class in the morning, both Ron and Harry were staring at Snape, trying to spot other abnormalities. Snape's daily venomous tongue was no exception, and only Hermione could escape it.

After lunch, Carney and Harry Ron came to Hagrid's hunting cabin together. Blackie didn't eat lunch either. In all, it hasn't eaten any food since it was born, and it has lost the energy it had before.

"Hagrid, good afternoon!"

"Hey, good afternoon Harry! And Carneroan." Hagrid tried his big bow around the hunting grounds.

"Hagrid, look at my pet for me. It won't eat..." Carney was very worried about Xiao Hei's condition and handed Xiao Hei to Hagrid.

"Oh, the egg hatched?" Hagrid carefully took Xiao Hei, raised it to the same level and observed with wide eyes, "What a beautiful girl, with smooth and cool scales and she looks starving!"

"Yeah, I haven't eaten anything since last night. It didn't eat anything I fed it." Carney frowned.

"Obsidian snake eats mice, insects, and ants. What did you feed it?" Hagrid asked.

"Pork, bread, chicken legs, and candies..."

"Don't you eat pork?" Hagrid thought for a moment.

"Maybe it drinks milk!" said Harry.

"No, snakes don't drink. You guys go sit in the room first, and I'll go get ready first." Hagrid handed Xiao Hei back to Carney, invited them to sit in the room, and ran out without knowing why.

They were already familiar with Hagrid's hut. Yaya must have gone out to play when he wasn't there. The creatures around were afraid of Yaya, probably because of Hagrid.

After they finished it, they poured water to soak the cereal and drank it. Although there were cookies on the table, no one tried them.

"You're here, you're not in a hurry, are you?" Hagrid walked in with a plate filled with a small pile of meat.

There are still some water stains on the plate, the meat must have been washed.

"Come try this!" Hagrid put the plate on the table and motioned to Carney.

Carney put Xiao Hei on the table. Carney didn't know if Xiao Hei had a nose to smell this thing, but it looked like Xiao Hei was like a hungry wolf that smelled food. The head of the table shook slightly, and then the plate was locked for sharing.

The third and second player got on the plate and launched an offensive against the pile of meat.

"What kind of meat is this?" Carney looked at Xiao Hei eating so happily.

"Chicken!" Hagrid said with a proud expression on his face, "Fresh chicken." He deliberately emphasized the first three words.

"Fresh?"

Carney thought for a moment and realized that the pork had been left out for a day, thinking it would come out sooner.

"Yes, it seems like your pet is very picky! What's its name?" Hagrid asked humorously.

"It's called Xiaohei!"

"Xiao Hei, a good name."

"How do you tell whether she is a male or a female?" Carney was curious about this.

"It's easy to tell. The male's tail is short and thick, and the female's tail is long and thin." Hagrid is very knowledgeable about animals, otherwise he would not apply to become a teacher of magical creatures in the future.

"Okay, Harry. What do you want?" Hagrid immediately saw that something was wrong with Harry. Harry used to talk a lot when he came here.

"Someone wanted to steal something that Lu Wei was guarding. Yesterday I saw Snape sneaking into that room alone." Harry looked at Hagrid.

"Why is it possible that Snape would steal that thing again? He is a professor at the school, it is impossible." Hagrid retorted loudly.

"Only the professor has a chance. He even threatened Professor Quirrell who discovered him." Harry tried to persuade Hagrid.

"Quirrell? You must be mistaken. Snape was also involved in setting up protective measures to protect that thing. There is no way he would steal it."

"Then can you tell us what that thing is?"

"It's best that you don't know about that thing now. It was temporarily kept by Dumbledore on behalf of Nico Mellor." Hagrid replied irritably. He had promised to keep it secret, but Harry has been keeping it secret recently. Ask this.

"Nico?"

"Melle?"

Harry and Ron seemed to have discovered something, and Hagrid finally let it slip.

"Oh, I'm so damned. Okay, you've really had enough, and you really can't say any more." Hagrid slapped himself in the mouth remorsefully, and pushed Harry and the others out of the door. He rejected Harry for the first time, but he was afraid that if he didn't do that, he would leak it. He had promised Dumbledore.

Of course, there is also Carney's Xiao Hei. Carney brought the plate to him when he came out, otherwise Xiao Hei would not be full yet.

"There is a name, we can look it up ourselves!" Harry pulled Ron and Carney and ran back to the school and went straight to the library.

Although Carney had known all this for a long time and had already reserved the Philosopher's Stone, he had no intention of telling Harry and the others. It's rare for them to come to the library so actively. Although it's early, it's still useful to look through the books.

We still don’t know what pit Dumbledore will dig, and it may be different from the source of the original work.

Carney picked up a few books and started to flip through them. Before he could even turn a few pages, someone came next to him.

"Hermione?" He thought it was Harry or Ron, but he didn't hear the voice for a long time and looked up to see that it was Hermione. That's right, the library is almost the place where she spends the most time besides the classroom and dormitory.

"Didn't you see me?" Hermione turned the pages of her book with her hands without raising her head.

"I came in too hastily and didn't look carefully." Carney hurried over with Harry and the others. There was no time to look after Hermione in a crowd of people. "We got a clue about what the three-headed dog was guarding, and it was a man named Nico Mellor."

"Nico Mellor? I seem to have seen it somewhere..." Hermione flipped through the books she held over.

Harry and Ron also arrived with books in their arms. The four of them had nothing to say, but they were all looking for names in the books. Only Carney was more leisurely, flipping through a book called "Introduction to Fantastic Beasts" with great enthusiasm.

In the end, they searched all afternoon but couldn't find it, so they each borrowed a few books and went back to the dormitory to read.

Carney thinks it's good that they are doing this, they are all learning, and he can't fall behind. He borrowed a senior textbook "Intermediate Spells" and started studying it. Freezing spells and fire spells were his top priorities now.
