Harry Potter: Glory of the King

Chapter 88: Dragon Egg

Hagrid frowned, "I think your idea is dangerous, of course I can't say it. First, I don't know it myself, and second, you already know too much, so I won't tell you even if I know it. . That stone makes a lot of sense here. It was almost stolen in Gringotts-I guess you guys made this clear too?" Hagrid took a sip of his tea and muttered: "I don't know how you even know about Lu Wei."

"Hagrid." Ona said, "I believe you know. After all, Professor Dumbledore even asked you to bring back the Philosopher's Stone. It shows how much he trusts you, you just don't want to tell us."

Everyone clearly saw Hagrid's beard shaking, and everyone could see that he was smiling.

"In fact, we are not interested in the institution itself. We just want to know who besides you, Professor Dumbledore still believes in helping him."

Hearing this, Hagrid puffed up his chest. Harry and Ron cast admiring eyes on Ona. Hermione and Glory looked at the cabin curiously. They came for the first time and surrounded them with enthusiasm. Fortunately, Hermione and the others were not afraid of big dogs.

"Well, it’s okay to tell you about it—let me think about it—he borrowed Lu Wei from me, and then asked several other teachers to perform magic tricks, Professor Sprout, Professor Flitwick, Professor McGonagall, Professor Quirrell... and Professor Snape!"

"Snape?" Harry and Ron couldn't help asking.

"Yes, so you have to trust these teachers-Professor Dumbledore can't be wrong, right?" Hagrid said relaxedly.

Harry and Ron glanced at each other, and they felt more suspicious of Professor Snape's intentions.

"Only you know how to deal with Lu Wei, right?" Harry said eagerly.

"And Professor Dumbledore," Hagrid replied, "No one else knows! I won't say it!"

Ona silently glanced at Hagrid. Who said that?

"That's good, that's good." Harry breathed a sigh of relief, "Speaking of which, can I open a window? I'm out of heat!"

"I'm afraid not, Harry, I'm sorry." Hagrid glanced at the fireplace and Harry noticed.

"What's that?" Harry looked at the fireplace, and in the fire below the kettle, there was a huge dark egg.

"Heh," Hai Jingjun twisted his beard anxiously, "that's...he..."

"Where did you get it?" Ron guessed it. In fact, everyone guessed it-it was a dragon egg. Ona looked at it with interest, "It must have cost a lot of money!"

"I won it," Hagrid said. "I was drinking in the village last night and playing cards with a stranger. To be honest, that person is probably eager to get rid of it!"

"Stranger?" Ona didn't pay much attention to the egg. "What does he look like?"

"I don't know," Hagrid smiled slyly, "he wouldn't take off his cloak!"

Harry opened his mouth in surprise, he seemed to think of something, but suddenly he didn't know what was wrong.

"It's nothing weird," Hagrid explained, seeing everyone watching him, "Pig's Head Bar-that's the bar in the village. There are always some weird people coming and going. That guy might be a hawker who sells fire dragons. Right? I haven't seen his face clearly, he is wearing a hood!"

"Then how did he know that you want a fire dragon?" Harry suddenly knew what he was thinking of-Hagrid hopes that raising fire dragons is not something that everyone knows. "Don't you think it's weird? How could a stranger have a fire dragon egg in his pocket so accidentally? How many people would walk around with a fire dragon egg all day? That should be illegal, right?"

Hagrid was also stunned, and he carefully recalled the details of last night. "I just sat with him, and then he asked me what I did, and I said I was the hunting field guard here, and he asked me which animals I looked after, and I told him."

Everyone does not consciously hold their breath, foreseeing that the next words will be the key.

"Then I said I always wanted to raise a fire dragon... Later, I couldn’t remember clearly. He kept buying me wine and drinks... By the way! Then he said he had a fire dragon egg in his hand, if I wanted to Yes, we can play cards and gamble. But he has to figure out whether I have the ability to deal with this fire dragon. He doesn't want the fire dragon to run out and make trouble... So I told him that I can even control Lu Wei. Be submissive, one-stop is nothing at all..."

"Does he seem to... appear to be very interested in Lu Wei?" Harry asked, and Ona could hear him, his mood was not as calm as he was.

"Yes, I'm very interested. How many three-headed dogs can you meet, even near Hogwarts?" Hagrid hadn't realized something was wrong. "So I told him that Lu Wei is actually very It's easy to deal with, as long as you know how to calm it down, put some music on it, and it will fall asleep right away..."

A look of horror suddenly appeared on Hagrid's face, "I shouldn't have told you this!" He blurted out, "Forget what I said!"

"Don't worry, Hagrid." Ona changed the subject. "Are you sure you can hatch it?"

Hagrid looked at the dragon egg with a kind expression, "No problem, I've been reading a book." He drew a large book from under his pillow, "I borrowed it from the library-"For Fun and "Profit and Raise a Dragon"-of course, it's a bit outdated, but the content is very comprehensive. Put the eggs in the fire because their mother exhales at them. Look, it's written here, after it hatches , Feed it a bucket of brandy and chicken blood every half an hour. Look here again-how to distinguish different eggs, what I got is a Norwegian Ridgeback, which is very rare!"

The children looked at each other, Hagrid was really big-hearted!

"But, when it hatches, what are you going to do?" Hermione asked, "Don't forget that you live in a wooden house, and..."

Hagrid didn't listen at all, he fiddled with the fire while humming a little tune.

Hermione shut up when she saw this—the two of them were least familiar with Hagrid here.

After leaving the hut, Ona said to Ron: "You first contact Charlie. I remember you said that he was studying dragons in Romania. Maybe he could have some suggestions."

"Good idea, just need to talk to Hagrid first?" Ron asked.

"Hagrid should agree." Ona said with a smile.

"Now that we all know how to deal with Lu Wei, don't you think about it?" Harry said worriedly.

"I don't think you need to worry too much, Harry," Ona comforted. "The fifth and seventh grades are about to take exams. The wizards from the Ministry of Magic will come here and Professor Dumbledore will not leave. I thought, If anyone really wants to get the Sorcerer's Stone, they should wait until this period of time has passed, and then wait until Professor Dumbledore leaves the school before making any moves."

"You're right, Ona!" Harry breathed a sigh of relief. "Speaking of which, should we tell Professor Dumbledore about this in advance?"

"This is the situation now," Ona pointed to Hagrid's airtight cabin. "Are you sure?"

Harry and Ron rolled their eyes at the same time, and the two girls laughed together.
