Harry Potter: Glory of the King

Chapter 39: Sorting hat

"Now, in a single row," Professor McGonagall said to the freshman, "follow me."

Ona lined up, with Harry and Ron in front of him, and Glory and Hermione behind him. A group of people walked out of the room, through the hall, and then through a double door into the luxurious auditorium.

Ona glanced at the auditorium. The students of other grades were already sitting around four long tables. Above the tables, thousands of candles floating in the air illuminated the auditorium. On the four tables were glittering gold plates and goblets. There is another long table on the upper stage of the auditorium, which is the seat of the teachers. Professor McGonagall took the first-year freshmen over there and asked them to face all the senior students in a row, with the teachers behind them. The candlelight flickered, and hundreds of faces staring at them looked like pale lanterns. The ghosts were also mingled with the students with a hazy silver light. Stars shone on the velvety black ceiling.

"There was magic here, and it looks like the sky outside. I read about it in Hogwarts: A School History." Hermione and Glory bit their ears quietly.

Harry seemed to have heard it too. He looked at it in disbelief. He couldn't believe that there was a ceiling. He thought the auditorium was open.

Professor McGonagall gently put a four-legged stool in front of the freshmen, and put a top wizard hat on the stool. The hat was patched, worn out, and extremely dirty.

"Should we clean up this hat? Or what are we going to do?" Hermione asked Ona.

Ona smiled slightly: "Let's look at it."

Everyone was staring at the hat, and there was no sound in the auditorium. Then, the hat twisted, and a wide slit opened, like a mouth—the hat began to sing. Ona listened carefully, nothing more than sang all the colleges, and then mentioned that he was going to be worn. After the hat sang the song, there was thunderous applause from the audience. The hat bowed to the four dining tables one by one, and then stood still.

"It seems that we only need to wear this hat." Ron said quietly to Harry, "I'm going to kill Fred. It sounds like he's going to fight a troll."

Harry smiled. Wearing a hat is better than doing magic.

At this time, Professor McGonagall took a few steps forward, holding a roll of parchment in his hand: "Whoever I call by name now puts on a hat, sits on a stool, and waits for the sorting house." She said, " Hannah Abbot!"

A little girl with a ruddy complexion and two golden hair braids stumbled out of the queue and put on a hat that just covered her eyes. She sat down. There was a pause—"Hufflepuff!" shouted the hat.

The people at the table on the right applauded and cheered Hannah, welcoming her to take a seat at their table. Ona saw the ghost of the fat monk and waved to her happily.

"Susan Bones!"

"Hufflepuff!" Susan quickly ran to Hannah and sat down.

"Terry Bout!"

"Ravenclaw!"

This time the second table from the left clapped and applauded. When Terry joined them, several Ravenclaw students stood up and shook hands with him.

"Mandy Bloch!"

"Ravenclaw!"

"Lavender Brown!"

"Gryffindor!" The farthest dining table on the left burst into cheers, and Harry saw Ron's twin brothers booing.

"Milison Bost!"

"Slytherin!"

"Ona Clough!"

Ona smiled and raised eyebrows with Glory, Hermione, Harry, Ron, and Neville: "I'm here."

"Oh! It's the boy from the Daily Prophet, and his sister is here too, so handsome!"

"His sister is also very beautiful. I don't know which college she will be assigned to!"

Ona walked to the Sorting Hat and bowed to Professor McGonagall: "Professor?"

"What's the matter?" McGonagall glanced in surprise. Everyone noticed this, and the noise suddenly fell silent.

"Can you clean up the hat? It's a bit...well, it doesn't fit the image of Hogwarts?" Although Ona doesn't have a cleanliness, Glory seems reluctant to wear a sorting hat. Although she didn't say it, Ona felt it. , After all, are twins.

"If you want, just try." McGonagall hasn't encountered a similar situation, but she never helped out—and the little wizard who just started school? She has never heard of anyone who can make the sorting hat cleaner.

"Thank you!" Ona pulled out his wand, "Clean up!"

The sorting cap sneezed, and a burst of smoke erupted, and then the sorting cap yelled, "Comfortable!"

The sorting hat got a new look, and it yelled happily, "Great! If I have a hand, I must give you a hug! But if I have a hand, I don't have to trouble you to clean it up. They always think I don't need to clean it up! Quickly! Two thousand years! Only Ms. Hufflepuff likes to clean me! You always think I should be covered in dirt!"

McGonagall was embarrassed. She would naturally be able to achieve the same effect-or even better, if she shot it, but they had never thought about it.

"Okay." Professor McGonagall nodded. "You performed very well. If the college is divided, I don't mind giving you five points."

Professor Dumbledore watched with interest. Originally, he had been paying attention to Harry Potter, and he had already understood the situation of the Ona family. Over the past month, the Clough brothers and sisters—especially Au Na gave him a lot of surprises, but he did not expect the surprise to be even greater. He glanced at Ona’s wand thoughtfully, and he felt that his wand seemed to vibrate—you know, the wand in his hand is the legendary elderberry wand, combined with the resurrection stone and the invisibility cloak to form the three holy artifacts of death. !

Ona put on the sorting hat—it felt like the sorting hat was jumping over his head, and he sat on the stool.

"Wow!" The sorting hat's voice sounded, a faint voice in the ear, "rarely, you have the wisdom and knowledge of Ravenclaw, the integrity and loyalty of Hufflepuff, and the Gryffindor. Bravery, and Slytherin's assessment of the situation, I can feel the taste of Merlin from you, so where do you want to go?"

"Gryffindor." Ona didn't think much.

"Gryffindor!" The Sorting Hat shouted immediately!

Ona took off his hat, Gryffindor’s long table was cheering, he walked to the table, and the prefect Percy shook his hand: "Thank you for helping the academy win 5 points!"

Fred and George winked at him.

"Glory Clough!" Professor McGonagall smiled and continued reading the list, and Glory's beauty also surprised everyone.

"Gryffindor!" Glory sat next to Ona. Several seniors had already reported their names maliciously. Ona smiled and helped to stop.

"Michael Kona!"

"Ravenclaw!"

"Stephen Comfort!"

"Ravenclaw!"

"Vincent Crabbe!"

"Slytherin!"

"Tracy Davis!"

Ona didn't pay any more attention, because Lavender Brown had been trying to chat with him, he could only chat with her a few words, and sometimes he could hear the names of several people.

"Justin Finley!"

"Hufflepuff!"

Generally speaking, it is very fast, and some children seem to be embarrassed by the sorting hat. For example, Seamus Finnigan announced after nearly a minute: "Gryffindor!"
