Glory To Slytherin

Chapter 52 The Principal's Office

Dumbledore returned to Hogwarts at around nine o'clock in the evening, and stepped into the auditorium with him, and there was a very strange-looking man.

The stranger was short, stout, stocky, with messy gray hair and an anxious look on his face. His clothes are a strange hodgepodge: a pinstriped suit, a bright red tie, a long black cloak, and purple pointed boots. A dark green top hat was tucked under his arm.

This is Cornelius Fudge, the current minister of the British Ministry of Magic.

After the two entered the auditorium, expressions of surprise and confusion appeared on their faces coincidentally.

Dumbledore stared at the big hole in the wall that was broken by the basilisk, and said softly:

"Oh, Minerva... I probably know why you rushed me back."

His azure blue eyes scanned the crowd, and Ulysses, who was very prominent among the professors, paused for an extra second, and then said:

"Come to my office and talk. By the way, Minerva, there are no casualties, right?"

"No, only some students were injured."

Professor McGonagall shook his head and said.

"Fortunately."

Dumbledore led the crowd to the door of his office and said to a huge stone sculpture:

"Chocolate Frog."

The stone sculpture moved away in silence, revealing a spiral passage behind him.

Dumbledore strode in, and everyone followed him.

Ulysses looked at the principal's office with curiosity. On the smooth wall are portraits of school principals. Some are pointing and whispering to Ulysses, while others are silent with their eyes closed.

There are two small stairs in the room. There is a shelf on the handrail, and a bird animal perches on it to clean its feathers. There is a basin-like object on the table not far from the right hand side of the door.

When everyone came in, the office door closed automatically. Dumbledore waved his magic wand, several chairs appeared out of thin air, then sat behind his desk and said softly:

"Let's talk about it, what happened."

"Basilisk."

Professor Snape said dullly, "In the middle of the duel club activity, a basilisk rushed out of the wall."

"Basilisk...the kind of creature created by ‘Despicable Helbo’... why does it appear in the castle?"

While waiting, Professor McGonagall, who had heard Professor Snape's words, could not help but whispered in horror, her tone was full of disbelief and fear.

"It's a miracle that no student has an accident facing such a creature..."

"Before it appeared, its eyes were blinded. This is also the root cause of no sacrifice. We all know that the eyes of the basilisk are its deadliest weapon."

Professor Snape's tone of voice disappeared.

Dumbledore nodded slightly, thought about it, and said:

"Then what?"

"Then, Mr. Lestrange and I wounded the basilisk and it escaped from the wall."

Professor Snape replied.

"Sorry, let me interrupt..."

Fudge, who has been silent and just listening, couldn't help but ask, "The basilisk you are talking about...is that the basilisk in my cognition? The basilisk that sees you die?"

Professor Snape nodded.

Fudge immediately resembled a jumping monkey, and said sharply:

"Basilisk! Why do such dangerous things appear in school! If there is an accident, do you know how much pressure I will bear Dumbledore? I have only just been on stage, and I don't want to be driven away dingy!"

"Relax, Connelly."

Dumbledore rubbed his eyebrows and said soothingly, "I was surprised by this too, and I will try to remedy it."

"It has only been more than two months, and there has been one poisoning and two assaults. The parents of the students found it difficult to pick Albus... You have to be considerate of me..."

Fudge slowed down, pressed the hat on top of his head, and said embarrassedly.

Dumbledore nodded, leaned back in the chair, closed his eyes, and said softly:

"In this way, the monster in the secret room is very obvious, it is the basilisk... it escapes from the wall, then its path is through the school's pipe system..."

"But, if the attacker is really a basilisk, why are Filch's Mrs. Loris and Colin Crevey just being petrified..."

Professor McGonagall asked hesitantly.

"Perhaps they didn't look directly into the eyes of the basilisk, Professor."

Ulysses said, "There is a pool of water on the ground where Mrs. Loris was attacked. It may be the reflection of the basilisk; and Colin Crevey is a big fan of Mr. Potter. He has an inseparable one. camera……"

"Very likely guess, Mr. Lestrange."

Dumbledore agreed and said, turning his eyes to Ulysses, "Would you like to share with us how to repel the basilisk?"

Ulysses thought for a while, and said roughly the course of the battle. He only concealed the part where he took something from the basilisk. No one had seen it anyway, and he was not afraid of Dumbledore's suspicion.

"Keen consciousness, amazing strength, extraordinary courage... Maybe you should be Gryffindor."

Hearing Ulysses piercing the dagger into the body of the basilisk, Dumbledore's eyes lit up impenetrably, and he said with emotion.

"So, about how the basilisk's eyes were destroyed, do you know the situation, Severus?"

Professor Snape glanced at Ulysses, then shook his head after a moment of silence.

"All right."

Dumbledore sighed, "As long as the basilisk is still in the castle for a day, you can't let your guard down. It seems that the school's plumbing needs to be thoroughly investigated-that is a huge project. Everyone has worked hard, go back and rest first. Connelly, you have seen the status of the school as you wish, and I will not keep you."

Several professors and Fudge walked out of the office preoccupiedly, and Fudge patted Ulysses on the shoulder as he passed by:

"I remember you, boy. I still remember the registration when you entered the UK. Good job."

Ulysses smiled, just about to take a step, but was stopped by Dumbledore:

"Wait a minute, Ulysses...may I call you that?"

"Of course, Professor."

Ulysses froze for a moment, and said immediately.

After everyone else had gone out, Dumbledore straightened slightly, the eyes behind the half-moon glasses were like the blue sea, watching Ulysses calmly:

"Besides those just now, do you have anything else to add?"

Ulysses met his gaze, Occlumency involuntarily started to operate, until he didn't feel the fluctuations of Sensation Mind, he relaxed a little, shook his head and said:

"Nothing, Professor."

Dumbledore was quiet for two seconds, then slowly said:

"Okay. Thank you for your contribution to the school. Go back and rest."

"you too."

Ulysses bowed slightly and walked out of the principal's office.

Dumbledore stared at Ulysses's back, and the office fell into silence.

Suddenly a portrait said:

"He didn't tell the truth, I can assure you, Albus. That kid is hiding a secret."

The former headmaster Phineas Nigelus Black said with a strange smile, "Lestrange...none of the people with this surname is simple."

"He is from France, he is my student."

Dumbledore said briefly, "Everyone has a secret, Phineas."

The flames in the fireplace were burning, and Phoenix perched on the shelf suddenly opened its wings and hovered over Dumbledore's shoulders.
